2 NovaDeck NovaDeck is an innovative composite decking alternative to traditional WPC or foamed PVC decking planks. Treated wood fibers and polymers are used to produce foamed treated fiber composite decking planks. This patented product is definitely the best outdoor decking choice, perfect for spaces where extreme weather changes occur, like terraces, porches, pools and sea fronts. Available in various designs and colors that resemble wood s warmth and natural tones. 4 Easy Installation It only requires basic carpentry tools. Boards must be installed over an existing joist structure. Never directly over the surface. A 400 mm (16 ) space between joists is recommended for residential use. For commercial use a 300 mm (12 ) maximum space between joists. When installing in a diagonal design, space between joists should not exceed 300 mm (12 ). Assembly systems It is recommended to use high-quality fasteners. Stainless steel minimum screw size #7 with a minimum length of 2 ¼. For salt weather coastal applications, it is suggested to use 316 stainless steel products. Hidden fasteners are most recommended. Avoid that rubber products such as mats, pool inflatables or any other non-porous products remain for long periods of time on the board s surface. It might cause discoloration. The use of certain products with chemical content such as sun block or bug repellent might alter NovaDeck s surface. Low-cost maintenance It is easy to deal with superficial scratches. Just use a heating pistol. The hot air must be parallel to the surface and 4 inches from the scratch, never putting heat directly since the board might lose its natural gloss and blister. Heat source should be immediately turned off when the scratch is erased.

9 INSTALLATION GUIDE NovaDeck has the same parameters used to install composite or wood decks, always in accordance with local construction codes and the following installation guidelines. Any inappropriate installation of NovaDeck that neglects the steps in this guide will void the products warranty and any liability from the incorrect installation of this product. STORAGE: NovaDeck should be stored on a flat, leveled surface. No more than 8 units stacked vertically, always leaving the protective factory cover on the product to help protect against dirt and other elements that may affect the product. Be careful when handling product with a forklift, as it can easily damage the material. When using straps or bands, use protective corners to prevent marks caused by them. PARAMETERS FOR PERFECT INSTALLATION: NovaDeck must be installed on a structural beams and NEVER directly on the ground of floor. It is necessary to ensure that the structure is leveled and secure. For residential installations it is recommended not to leave more than 40 cm distance between joists, always installing the deck perpendicular to these. For commercial installations do not leave more than 30 cm. For 45 installations or fishbone pattern, the beams should not have more space to 80 cm between them. TOOLS: The tools used to install NovaDeck are the same tools that should be used to install wood or composite decks. Screw guns / or cordless screwdrivers. Auto-feed screwdrive systems. When cutting, carbide tipped circular saw. As with wooden platforms or composite materials, use safety glasses throughout the installation process.

10 FASTENERS: Fasteners for NovaDeck are similar to those used to install wood or composite materials. Fasteners of stainless steel with a minimum requirement of # 7 self-drilling wood screw and 2¼ minimum lenght. For installations in high humidity areas, use 316 stainless steel screws. hidden or invisible fixing are also recommended. ProClip PVC Deck elements fasteners are also recommended. For practical purposes please refer to Tiger Jaw tool Youtube video ( SPECIAL RECOMMENDATIONS: NovaDeck products will have minimal expansion and contraction with changes in temperature, unlike wood which size varies with changes in humidity. Deckplanks expansion and contraction may cause mild separations that could be seen in the edges of joints. Expansion and contraction are more visible in extreme temperature changes. Please follow these guidelines for handling structural beam planks: Install NovaDeck planks as soon as possible after cutting. Be sure to hold planks using two screws placed within 1cm of each plank s edge. Provide 3 to 6mm separation between deck planks both laterally and longitudinally. For best results, avoid fastening planks to the same beam as it may cause product breakage.

11 CARE AND MAINTENANCE To keep your NovaDeck looking its best: It is recommended that you wash your deck periodically with ordinary household products to remove stains, dirt and debris. To remove rust stains, use a household cleaner such a toilet bowl cleaner. Avoid the use of rubber-backed mats, tarps, pool toys, and other non-porous items on the deck for any extended period of time as these items may cause discoloration to the decking surface. Some products, such as sunblock and insect repellent, contain chemicals that may alter the surface of NovaDeck. Check product labels and consult with the manufacturer as to product compability with plastic materials, such as NovaDeck, prior to use on or near NovaDeck. For ice removal: Most products containing calcium chloride can be used without damage to the deck surface. These products may leave a white residue which can be cleaned using the cleaning guidelines above. (These guidelines may not cover every care and maintenance scenario encountered. 12 FAQs Will NovaDeck get mold on it? Yes. Given particular environmental conditions of moisture and temperature, mold and mildew can appear on any outdoor surface. However, mold and mildew on NovaDeck occurs only on the surface of the boards and does not penetrate into the deck board. Surface mold and mildew on an NovaDeck can be removed using an all-surface deck cleaner or a 1 to 4 mixture of bleach and water. Apply cleaner or mixture, use a nylon bristle brush and scrub the area until the mold or mildew is removed. Rinse the area thoroughly and towel dry. Repeat if needed. Is NovaDeck ICC code compliant? Yes, NovaDeck has obtained two code research reports ESR-1667 (ICC) and also CCRR The details of both reports can be reviewed on our website Can I use NovaDeck on a roof top application? Yes. NovaDeck can be used on a rooftop application; however, the deck boards must be attached to a properly secured understructure and leave a minimum of an 1/8 gap between deck boards. DO NOT ATTACH DECK BOARDS TO A FLOATING SUB-STRUCTURE. Consult the NovaDeck Installation Guidelines for recommended fastening. As always, be sure to consult your local building code official(s) for railing requirements on any deck application. What is the best way to clean NovaDeck? To clean NovaDeck, use an all-surface deck cleaner or another all-purpose cleaner such as Simple Green or Krud Kutter Cleaner/Degreaser. Do not use abrasive cleaners which can dull the surface of new deck boards. Always read the cleaning product manufacturers specific information before using any product on your NovaDeck and follow their instructions. It is also a good idea to test the cleaner on a scrap piece or inconspicuous area of the deck to make sure it does not harm the surface. For stubborn stains/scuff marks on a weathered NovaDeck, you may remove or greatly reduce stains/marks with an application of Red Max Pro Degreaser or Krud Kutter Cleaner/Degreaser. The degreasers should be applied to the area and allowed to soak for several minutes.

13 Depending on the stain or mark, some moderate scrubbing may be required using a pot scrubber (such as a Scotch Brite type pad). Depending on the stain or mark, several applications may be required. Deck should be rinsed thoroughly upon completion. Always read the cleaning product manufacturer s specific information before using any product on your NovaDeck and follow their instructions. WARNING: Keep children and pets away from cleaning products and NovaDeck until dry. Can NovaDeck be used near water? Yes. NovaDeck resists moisture; therefore, it can be used near water. Can I use adhesive or caulk with NovaDeck? Adhesive and caulks are not recommended for use with NovaDeck. Do not get any PVC glue or similar substance on the surface of NovaDeck as it may discolor and permanently damage the NovaDeck surface. Will NovaDeck weather? Depending on environmental conditions, NovaDeck colors may appear to lighten over time as part of the natural weathering process. All decking products, natural and manmade will experience weathering. Contributing factors to weathering include the environment, moisture, sunlight, heat, time and other variables which may vary by region or geography. Weathering is an aesthetic issue and not a performance or product warranty issue, nor is it considered a material defect. Can I power wash NovaDeck? NovaDeck can be power washed using a fan tip and keeping the pressure at 1300 PSI or lower. First try the power washer on a scrap piece or inconspicuous area of NovaDeck to be sure that you will not damage the surface. What is the minimum height from the ground that NovaDeck must be installed? NovaDeck does not require a specified height for ground clearance. However, as in any deck installation, be sure to attach the deck boards properly to a stable and secure sub-structure and leave a minimum of a 1/8 gap between deck boards.

14 RECOMENDATIONS Avoid contact product with sunscreen to prevent deck color variations. To remove common stains such as footprints, bird or surface debris it is recommended to use a liquid detergent diluted in water. Then scrub and rinse with water. Steel fasteners, trees leaves cedar or redwood resin can leave dark spots. To remove this type of stain you should use a deck cleaner indoor and rinse abundantly with water. Oil, grill grease or tanning lotions should be cleaned immediately before drying. Use a household detergent and a brush to remove the stain. Rinse with water. Do not drag the planks over each other to prevent scratching the decorative surface. The product must be installed over a structure. Do not install directly on the ground. The distances between the structural battens must be 30 cm for commercial areas and 40 cm for residential areas. For diagonal patterns such as fishbone a distance of 40 cm between structural slats is needed. Do not drag heavy furniture without proper floor protectors. A 3 mm distance between all deck planks sides is recommended. For a better product finish and larger durability it is recommended to use a PVC sealant on the deck s surface. Do this only after installation and general cleaning is finished. DO NOT LEAVE PLASTIC CARPETS OR RUGS OVER THE DECK SURFACE FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME TO AVOID PRODUCT COLOR VARIATIONS. Its important to know that the final color of the deck is given once cleaning has been performed.

15 LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY NovaDeck products are warrantied by the manufacturer, LAMITECH S.A.S., in accordance with the terms and conditions set out below, to be free from defects in material and workmanship that (A) occur as a direct result of the manufacturing process, (B) occur under normal use and service, (C) occur during the warranty period and (D) result in blistering, peeling, flaking, cracking, splitting, cupping, rotting or structural defects from termites or fungal decay. NOTIFICATION: It is a condition of this warranty that should your NovaDeck products show defects at any point, Purchaser/Property owner will notify LAMITECH in writing within 30 days after discovering the claimed defect and prior to beginning any repair or alteration to the NovaDeck products. The notice must include a detailed description of the claimed defect, photograph(s) of the defect and proof of purchase. It is a further condition of this Warranty that the Manufacturer will, within a reasonable period of its receipt of such notice, be permitted to inspect the claimed defect. If, after inspection, the Manufacturer determines that the claim is in accordance with the terms of this Lifetime Limited Warranty, the Manufacturer will repair or replace the defective material, or will refund the original purchase price of the defective material. The choice of remedy is in Manufacturers sole discretion. The Manufacturer will not be liable for labor and/or removal costs connected with the claim. Replacement product will be provided as close to the original color as possible, although it is not guaranteed to match completely. In the event of repair or replacement, the original warranty shall apply to the repaired or replaced portion of the NovaDeck products and will extend for the balance of the warranty period in effect at the time the material proved defective. LIMITATIONS: This Lifetime Limited Warranty is void if any of the following occurs: (1) improper installation and/or failure to abide by the Manufacturers installation guidelines; (2) movement, settling, distortion or collapse of the ground or supporting structure on which the NovaDeck products are installed; (3) naturally occurring casualties including impact of objects, earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, lightning, flooding or acts of God; (4) improper handling or storage, neglect or misuse of the NovaDeck products either by the Purchaser or third parties; (5) improper application of paint or other surface chemicals not recommended by the Manufacturer in writing; (6) adverse effects of air pollution and (7) normal weathering of surfaces.

16 OTHER CONDITIONS The Manufacturer does not recommend the NovaDeck products for all end use applications. NovaDeck products are intended for decks, boardwalks and piers. Local Code Authority should be consulted before installation of structures with specific load-bearing capacities and for other zoning code requirements. This Lifetime Limited Warranty is valid for single-family, residential applications only. For all other applications, including commercial use, this warranty shall be limited to a period of twenty (20) years. THE WARRANTY STATEMENTS CONTAINED IN THIS LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY SET FORTH THE ONLY WARRANTIES EXTENDED BY LAMITECH AND ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER CONDITIONS AND WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
