12 MODULAR HOUSING DEMO Dublin City Council CONSTRUCTION OF INNOVATIVE HOUSING UNIT Actavo Building Solutions were invited to present its innovative housing unit at the Modular Housing Demonstration Project run by the four Dublin local authorities. The 75m² two-bedroom accommodation unit could accommodate a family of five and contained a fully equipped kitchen including cooker and washing machine, a bathroom with shower and a large comfortable living room space.

18 6/28/2018 Thermal Bridge Analysis Dangers of over insulating Option A (top right) highlights the danger of over insulating at junctions in order to achieve better Psi values. The red line indicates the condensation risk and the additional insulation has caused this line to form inside the VCL/Airtight layer (dotted blue line). The result is that any moisture vapour in this zone will condense and condensation will form within the fabric Option B (bottom right) has the additional Rockwool Flexi removed. The redline is outside the VCL/Airtight layer and the risk if condensation forming has been removed.
