5 5 Mechanical Works The contractor shall, when pricing the rates of this bill take into consideration and allow for the cost expenses of all requirements stipulated in the preambles, drawings and technical specifications of the contract. The following notes should be considered when pricing: 1- The price shall include all required digging or excavation backfilling and cement covering as specified. 2- The price shall include all connections to existing drainage pipes and main water pipes. 3- The Contractor has to provide complete Work-Shop drawings for all related works in this section of the BOQ showing any changes that maybe required for the best performance of the systems in this section. All Work-Shop Drawings have to be approved by the Engineer prior to starting the work at the site. 4- Price of the following items shall include: **Complete testing for the durability of the existing networks, the imbedded pipes and parts and risers for the heating, domestic water and sewage networks. **The contractor has to check that all pipes are in good condition and there is no leakage what so ever in the existing networks. **The contractor has to inform the Engineer for the works he is willing to perform and the quantity of material he is willing to supply. **After performing all renovation works the contractor has to test all the mechanical systems in the project to assure durability and functionality of the systems. 5.1 Supply and installation of 16 mm dia. Pex pipes of approved quality for domestic water and heating systems from collectors to all radiator and sanitary fixtures. All pex pipes should be inserted in replacement of damaged pipes inside existing PVC sleeves 25mm dia. M.R Supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of copper collectors with valve for each outlet, with all necessary ball valves, unions, bends, supports, hangers, nipples and automatic air vent (A.A.V), fitted in factory make heavy duty white steel cupboard. The collector diameter and the number of openings has to be identified by the contractor in the site visit. Works under this item shall include connecting the collectors with the existing water pipes. In case the main pipe is damaged, the contractor has to replace it with similar quality and diameter pipe, to eventually connect the collector properly with the main water source (Riser) Outlets dia. 1 1/4 /16mm. 6 Complete checking and maintenance of the domestic water and hot water systems. The contractor has to replace any damaged parts in the system and start up the systems correctly including flushing the pipes and cleaning the networks. An assessment of all required works shall be done during the pre-bid meeting. Supply, install and test all required parts inside the existing fire fighting cabinet in all locations in the school, with all necessary fittings needed to complete the work. Price includes swinging hose real with 25 meter long 1" dia. polystyrene hose with aluminum nozzle, 1" ball valve, 2" landing valve and 6Kg powder type fire extinguisher. Price shall include checking and maintenance of the fire fighting network and pipes. Supply, install, test and commission UPVC 6" pipes for underground drainage to connect the existing sewer network to the municipality main line, price include excavating, backfilling fittings 15cm above pipes (with sand and the rest with selected materials) Supply and install insulated Galvanized water pipes 1" dia marked with quality approval "Taken" stamp, the price include all necessary fittings for the network, excavations in any type of soil and rock or concrete, surrounding the pipe by 15 cm sand and backfilling, all complete job from the water meter to the internal water network in the building. Provisional: Supply and lay UPVC pipes as made by Royal or equally approved, diameter of 6" as specified to collect playground rain water. The price shall include the necessary excavation in any kind of soil laying the pipes with appropriate slopes, backfilling and compaction. The price shall include installing three 8/6" HDPE floor drains and heavy duty bronze grating to collect rain water with proper connection with the 6" pipes. Rain water should be transferred to the open areas outside the school boundaries. Supply and install stainless steel kitchen sink of approved quality, price shall include supports, Goose taps of approved make, trap fitting and connection to the existing drain. All fittings should be included in the price. Supply and install a chrome-plated tap similar to the existing type (Dal of 1/2 bar pressure 8 taps each fountain) or equally approved. 8 6 Electrical Works 6.1 Electrical Points. a. The electrical and telephone wiring from electrical switchboard to first point in circuit shall be included in the unit price of that point, whether by means of wires, cables or leads in existing conduits and cables holders. Also the price shall include all required repairing of the point that maybe needed including all required materials and the removal (pulling-out) of the existing wires all as per specifications, JEDCO Regulations and Engineer's instructions. b. All electrical fittings shall be as made by Gewiss, Legrand, Patchino Basic Range or equivalent Supply, install and connect a standard lighting switch point onto and through the existing boxes and conduits,the work includes wiring (1.5 sq.mm cross section wires) and as required whether single, double, two way or push button lighting switch. 9 6.4 Electrical Switchboards Supply and install of electrical switchboard components to existing panel as needed, including all associated materials and labor, as described in the technical specifications. Cabinets has no access from the rear, made up of transparent polycarbonate cells, or sheet metal cabinets with 25% surplus space. Main supply lines enter from bottom, top or side, while out going lines exit the switchboard from both its bottom and top only.
