3 SCOPE OF WORKS A SOW-8710 Rev. 5 Page 2 of SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work of Cooling Tower Package Tender shall cover design, detailed engineering, procurement, supply of all materials, equipments, installation, construction, fabrication, erection, manufacture, receipt, storage, conservation and preservation of all materials at site, handling at site, assembly, painting, testing, Commissioning of the entire system within package battery limit including testing and trial runs for 30 days and removal of unserviceable material, performance guarantee test run for 72 hours and guaranteeing of Bearing Cooling Water system comprising of 1 no. Cooling tower (1 Cell) and associated facilities, cooling tower system consisting of cooling Tower, pumps including all mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works including training of Owner s operating staff for a period of 30 days during trial runs and commissioning, performance guarantee test run after commissioning, and fulfilment of performance guarantee of the Tower on Turnkey basis as per scope of work, P&IDs, drawings, data sheets, standards, specifications etc. but excluding construction of RCC basin, Sump & foundation of pumps. Detailed scope of work is as mentioned below but not limited to same. 1.1 DETAILED SCOPE OF WORKS & SYSTEMS - Each Cooling Tower shall comprise of nos. of cells as per process data and P&ID. - Following Cooling water system is covered under this package contract. 1. Bearing Cooling Tower (1 no. of cell working) Each of the above cooling tower system shall consist of following but not limited to: a. Cooling tower b. RCC sump, basin but excluding Construction of RCC sump, basin. c. Cooling Tower contractor shall recommend the list and quantity of chemicals required for dosing system as per detail Engineering but excluding the supply and service works for chemical dosing system consisting of Formulation Dosing, Polymeric Dispersant Dosing, Biocide Dosing & Bio Dispersant Dosing d. DELETED e. DELETED. f. 3D modelling of cooling tower and other facilities within Package B/L including all piping, equipments, structures etc. g. All mechanical, instrumentation, electrical works h. Supply and Installation of Bearing Cooling water pumps but excluding construction of foundation of pumps. Refer matrix for detailed division of scope of works and supply given elsewhere in bid document.

4 SCOPE OF WORKS A SOW-8710 Rev. 5 Page 3 of BATTERY LIMIT CONDITIONS The battery limits of contractor's scope of work are given in P&IDs No. A and scope limit drawing for Cooling Tower Package drawing no. A COOLING TOWER 5 The scope of work shall cover:- a. Design, detail engineering, supply of all materials, erection, construction of mechanical induced draft, counter flow FRP cooling tower with PVC film type fill for fresh water having no. of cell along with cooling water sump as per Process data sheet/ P&IDs for meeting Project requirements but excluding the Structural Design & construction of RCC basin, sump and foundation of pump. b. Oil skimming arrangement in the channel at entry for sump shall be provided to remove floating oil to OWS. c. The basin shall be provided with an overflow and desludging arrangement from each cell, which shall be suitably connected, to the nearest storm water drain. Cooling tower Package contractor s scope includes sizing, hydraulic design and preparation of General arrangement drawing. d. A chain pulley block of suitable capacity with all necessary lifting arrangement shall be provided for maintenance work on cooling tower fan, gearbox and motor as per specifications given elsewhere in bid document. e. Return hot water from various equipments etc. is combined into a common line and shall be laid above ground from battery limit up to cooling tower and return water riser pipes shall be provided for cooling tower cell as per P&ID and Scope Drawing. Contractor shall provide expansion bellow in the riser pipe before entering to Cooling Tower cell. Vendor to finalize Cooling Tower height and fan deck height according to the pressure available at grade level near cooling tower (as given in process data sheet) & design the hot water riser to suit the battery limit pressure conditions. Vendor to confirm the return header pressure in the offer. The procurement & erection of cooling water return header and the hot water riser up to Battery limit is in contractor scope. Modelling of the same to be carried out by cooling tower contractor. f. Contractor to note that area available for proposed cooling tower, cold water channel and cooling water sump & pump and is marked on scope drawing and no extra space shall be made available to put up same. Contractor is required to visit site and make him self aware of actual site conditions. g. DELETED h. Any other work required as per scope drawing and P&ID and required for the completion of the job in all respects. 1.4 PIPING WORKS a. Supply and erection of piping within the battery limits of Cooling Tower as per scope drawing and P&ID shall be in the scope of the CT contractor including, design, engineering & 3D modelling of the same. b. DELETED

All other works not exclusively mentioned in the tender document, but are necessary to complete the system in all respects with respect to process requirements, P&ID, Scope drawings and data sheet etc. shall form a part of total scope of work. 1.5 COOLING WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM a. Cooling Tower contractor shall recommend the list and quantity of chemicals required for dosing system as per detail Engineering but excluding the supply and service works for chemical dosing system consisting of Formulation Dosing, Polymeric Dispersant Dosing, Biocide Dosing & Bio Dispersant Dosing b. The detailed scope of work shall be as per P&ID, Data sheets and specifications enclosed with the tender. 1.6 COMMISSIONING OF THE SYSTEM a. Commissioning of the entire system within scope of work including all equipments, etc. complete, including testing and trial runs for 30 days at no extra cost to owner shall be provided by the contractor. b. On completion of the work, the contractor shall remove and dispose off, all unserviceable materials and other unsightly materials leaving the premises and the cooling tower in good, safe and operable condition. c. Owner or his authorised representative will have the right to inspect at any stage of manufacture and construction, all materials, components and workmanship and testing of materials. The contractor shall provide all facilities of inspection and testing without any extra cost to the owner. d. It shall be clearly understood that the contractor shall be responsible to complete and commission the entire work in all respects including the work not specifically mentioned in the scope of work or specifications or in drawings, but are necessary to achieve completion. 1.7 PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE & TESTS a. The cooling tower and other associated facilities shall be tested and guaranteed to meet the performance requirement when tested in accordance with the procedure set forth in the latest revisions of the test procedure ATC-105 of CTI. The performance guarantee test run shall be conducted for 72 hours running. b. If the performance test shows a deficiency, the contractor shall rectify the defects without any additional cost to the owner 2.0 TECHNICAL EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR COOLING TOWER COUNTER FLOW TOWERS The offer of counter flow tower will be evaluated by Fulkerson's method using Fulkerson's demand curve and fill characteristic curves applicable to the case. The inlet air velocity shall be 1.5m/sec to 4m/sec. No tolerances are acceptable. Bidder shall submit calculations in the enclosed Tower sizing format.

The cooling water system includes cooling towers and basin, cold water channel. 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work of Cooling Tower Package tender shall cover design, detailed engineering, procurement, supply of all materials, equipments, installation, construction, fabrication, erection, manufacture, receipt, storage, conservation and preservation of all materials at site, handling at site, assembly, painting, testing, Commissioning of the entire system within package battery limit including testing and trial runs for 30 days and removal of unserviceable material, performance guarantee test run for 72 hours and guaranteeing BCW Cooling tower and associated facilities, cooling tower system consisting of cooling Tower cell (One no.), pumps including all mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works including training of Owner s operating staff for a period of 30 days during trial runs and commissioning, performance guarantee test run after commissioning, and fulfilment of performance guarantee of the Tower on Turnkey basis as per scope of work, P&IDs, drawings, data sheets, standards, specifications etc. but excluding construction of Basin, Sump and foundation of Pumps. The brief scope of work is as mentioned below but not limited to same. BCW Cooling Tower shall comprise of nos. of cells as per process data sheets and P&ID s. Following BCW Cooling water system is covered under this package contract. 1. Bearing Cooling Tower (1 no. of cell working) Above cooling tower system shall consist of following but not limited to: Cooling tower. RCC Sump, Basin but excluding the construction of RCC Sump, Basin. Supply and Installation of Bearing Cooling water Pumps but excluding construction of foundations for pumps. Cooling Tower contractor shall recommend the list and quantity of chemicals required for dosing system as per detail Engineering but excluding the supply and service works for chemical dosing system consisting of Formulation Dosing, Polymeric Dispersant Dosing, Biocide Dosing & Bio Dispersant Dosing Cooling Tower s Contractor to ensure that No algae growth shall be there on external BCW tower structures sweated by BCW. All mechanical, instrumentation, electrical as per scope of work.

The interconnecting piping, valves, fittings, flanges and all other piping material within B/L shall be supplied by CT Contractor. 2. Supply and installation of pumps, associated piping, valve, fittings instruments etc. and For detailed scope of work for various disciplines, refer elsewhere in the bid document. 3. Bearing Cooling Tower contractor shall recommend the list and quantity of chemicals required for the dosing system as per detail Engineering. Supply and service works for chemical dosing related to Formulation dosing, Polymeric Dispersant Dosing, Biocide dosing Systems and Bio Dispersant dosing system are excluded from BCW contractor s scope. 4. Design and construction of foundation for cooling water pumps are not in bidder s scope however bidder to submit GA drawing of Pumps for designing of Pumps foundation. 6 CT Contractor shall endeavor to maximize the modular construction. Skid/ modules of various items shall be shop fabricated and transported to site for erection/ installation. 2.1 BATTERY LIMIT CONDITIONS The battery limits of contractor's scope of work are given in P&IDs No. A and Scope limit for BCW drg. No. A SCOPE OF SUPPLY 3.1 CLIENT S SCOPE OF SUPPLY Refer Scope Matrix 3.2 CONTRACTOR S SCOPE OF SUPPLY Refer Scope Matrix and for detailed scope of supply for various disciplines, refer respective documents attached in the bid document 4.0 EXCLUSIONS Refer Scope Matrix 5.0 SPARES 5.1 GENERAL For successful pre-commissioning, commissioning /performance test, plant operation and during guarantee period of the plant, requirement of spares are to be provided by the Contractor and are to be listed in the bid. The cost aspect to be suitably taken care by the Contractor. The unutilized spares shall be the property of the owner. 5.2 MANDATORY SPARES For details of mandatory spares refer respective discipline inputs attached with the bid document.
