Application Details Consumption / Dosage Coating System Product Consumption Sealing of smooth surfaces Sikafloor -305 W ca kg/m²/layer These figures are theoretical and do not allow for any additional material due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level and wastage etc. Lower consumption can cause roller marks, gloss differences and irregular surface structure, higher consumption result in water retention and can cause pigment floating When used in high wear conditions, for example where rolling office chairs occur, a double layer Sikafloor -305 W is highly advisable, as a double layer is increasing the mechanical strength of the system and it resistance against office chairs particularly. 2/7

3 Substrate Quality Substrate Preparation The substrate must be clean, dry and free of all contaminants such as dirt, oil, grease, coatings and surface treatments, etc. Pull-off strength must be not less than 1.5 N/mm². If in doubt, apply a test area first. All dust, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of the product, preferably by brush or vacuum. Epoxy surfaces must be sanded with green 3M pad to ensure proper adhesion. Application Conditions / Limitations Substrate Temperature Ambient Temperature Relative Air Humidity Dew Point +10 C min. / +30 C max. +10 C min. / +30 C max. 75% max. During curing the humidity should not exceed 75 % max. Adequate fresh air ventilation must be provided to remove the excess moisture from the curing product. Beware of condensation! The substrate and uncured floor must be at least 3 C above the dew point to reduce the risk of condensation or blooming on the floor finish. application Instructions Mixing Mixing Time Part A : part B = 85 : 15 (by weight) Prior to mixing, stir part A mechanically. When all of part B has been added to part A, mix continuously for 3 minutes until a uniform mix has been achieved. To ensure thorough mixing pour materials into another container and mix again to achieve a consistent mix. Add 5 to 7% clean water and mix continuously for 1 minute. Wait one minute and then mix it up again for one minute. The adding of water must be the same in every mix, if not it could slightly influence the colour and the texture. Check the mixing result and the absence of lumps or agglomerates on a mixing blade. Over mixing must be avoided to minimise air entrainment. Mix Ratio of A : B = 85 : 15 by weight Mixing Tools must be thoroughly mixed using a low speed electric stirrer ( rpm) or other suitable equipment. 3/7

4 Application Method / Tools Prior to application confirm relative air humidity and dew point. Divide the area to be coated into parts for the number of A + B units, to have consumption under control and to know how far to paint with each A + B mixture. When starting to coat, make sure the coating rollers are well saturated with coating. If this is not the case, small air bubbles will be visible at the overlaps. The rollers should be wetted in the first area, which should be taken into account by pouring out some more material. The roller will absorb approx kg coating depending on size of the roller (25cm or 50cm). With a small quantity mixed product, pre-coat the edge areas with brush and small 10cm roller. But never go further ahead than 10 minutes to the regular rolling, to obtain minimal visibility. Within the pot-life (as soon as possible) depending on the temperature 20 min (30 C) 40 min (10 C) the product is poured and spread out on the substrate under observation of the coverage rate (+/ g/m 2 ). Attention: the end of the pot-life is not noticeable! After pouring out, the material has to be spread in the pouring direction with nylon roller having a fibre length of approximately 12-13mm and with the same roller cross to pouring direction, covering approx m wide not overlapping the former lane, and backwards covering approx m with an overlap of less than 5 cm. Then extend the overlap, in a calm way to approx.. 10 cm. See to it that no glittering shiny spots will be left in the finished paint layer caused by paint pick-up from the surface by the roller. Lift the roller at the end of the roll to minimize the change of roller-marks. For the best result, go after having done 2 laps, through the wet coating using stump spike shoes. Roll with a larger 50 cm roller in one direction cross the working direction. By doing so, lap-marks are fully eliminated. Depending on the room size use a 25cm only very small areas - or 50cm coating roller. Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically. A seamless finish can be achieved if a wet edge is maintained during application. This means that the coating overlap should always occur with wet coating on wet coating. Spray application: Sikafloor -305 W can also be airless spray applied, e.g with a Airless- Membranpump SF 31 Wagner, tube length 15 m, inside diameter 6 mm, Jet 319, a white filter and a pressure of 180 bar (Machine) When applying on an epoxy surface, the floor has to be sanded with preferably, a green 3M pad to secure a proper adhesion. Cleaning of Tools Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically. 4/7

5 Potlife Temperature +10 C +20 C +30 C Time ~ 80 minutes ~ 60 minutes ~ 30 minutes Caution: End of potlife is not noticeable. Waiting Time / Overcoating Before applying Sikafloor -305 W on Sikafloor -330 / 328 / 327 / 326 / 263SL allow: Substrate temperature Minimum Maximum +10 C 24 hours 72 hours +20 C 18 hours 48 hours +30 C 12 hours 36 hours Before applying Sikafloor -305W on Sikafloor -305W alow: Substrate temperature Minimum Maximum +10 C 24 hours 4 days +20 C 16 hours 3 days +30 C 12 hours 2 days Based on RH max. 70% and good ventilation. When outside the application window, light sanding with green 3M pad to prepare. Times are approximate and will be affected by changing ambient conditions particularly temperature and relative humidity. Notes on Application / Limitations Freshly applied Sikafloor -305 W must be protected from damp, condensation and water for at least 7 days (+20 C). Unevenness of substrates as well as inclusions of dirt cannot be covered by thin sealers coats. Therefore substrate and adjacent areas must be cleaned thoroughly prior to application. When applying on an epoxy surface, the floor has to be sanded with preferably, a green 3M pad to secure a proper adhesion. Tools Electric drill, mixing-blade, brushes and nylon rollers with a fibre length of ~12-13 mm and a width of 10 up to 70 cm for surface area amount depending on size of floor). Roller frames and telescopic extension handles, tape and spatula. Plastic sheeting for placement of wet rollers. If heating is required do not use gas, oil, paraffin or other fossil fuel heaters, these produce large quantities of both CO 2 and H 2O water vapour, which may adversely affect the finish. For heating use only electric powered warm air blower systems. 6 Cleaning / Maintenance Methods To maintain the appearance of the floor after application, must have all spillages removed immediately and be regularly cleaned. Please refer to the General maintenance tips and recommended cleaning procedures for the Sika ComfortFloor Systems. Initial cleaning: Before using your Sikafloor-305W topcoated floor, Firstly, you should sweep the area to remove any loose debris. Scrub with a red pad and wet vacuum the soiled solution. Rinse with clean water and wet vacuum. Let dry thoroughly. Advised product: TASKI Jontec 300, Smartdose or if extremely dirty from contracting debris, use Taski Jontec Deepstrip. Looking After Your Floor: If the correct cleaning and maintenance schedule is used the appearance of your floor can be easily maintained. Dust Cleaning... should be done regularly with for example the Taski Lamello system, a professional dust moppingframe, especially designed for the effective removal of dust using a dust-binding mop (without oil containing material!). Sand and dust act as abrasives and render a floor slippery and glossy. Regular removal of sand and dust greatly improves the durability of your Sika Comfortfloor. Manual standard wet cleaning... can be done regularly by mopping. Use the Jontec 300 SD ph-neutral (ph 7) detergent that does not leave a wax film. Use a damp microfiber mop consisting of a lightweight handle with a very manoeuvrable flat rectangular head. Machine standard wet cleaning... can be done regularly by auto scrubber or low speed single disk machine. Use the Jontec 300 SD ph-neutral (ph 7-7,5) detergent that does not leave a wax film and has low foaming properties when used in a scrubbing machine. For daily cleaning a Red 3M polyester floor-pad with high dirt absorbing properties for removal of dirt and stripes, without polishing the floor. 6/7
