1 Reference : K/506/5119 Level : Level 2 Credit Value : 18 Guided Learning Hours : 144 Grading Type : Graded Erect and dismantle cantilever scaffolds Aim : The aim of this unit is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to be deemed trained to erect and dismantle cantilever scaffolds in relation to: - selecting resources to erect and dismantle erecting cantilever scaffolds (including truss plus fan and/or single lift cantilever) - dismantling cantilever scaffolds. This unit is applicable for Tube and Fitting scaffolds and System Scaffolds. When using the notes for guidance TG20 is applicable for tube and fitting scaffolds only and Manufacturers instructions refer to System Scaffolding (and Tube and Fitting). Learning Outcomes The Learner Will 1 Know how to interpret information to erect and dismantle cantilever scaffolds. Assessment Criteria The Learner Can State the potential hazards associated with erecting and dismantling cantilever scaffolds. - - how to prevent breaches in Health and Safety using risk assessment. - TG20 guidance - BSEN protection of the public - working at height regulations - manual handling Describe the different types of information used for erecting and dismantling - plans, drawings and sketches, specifications, method statements, risk assessments, manufacturers' technical information - official guidance associated with scaffolding work - The Work at Height Regulations TG20 Compliance sheets/bsen Describe how to check the information for accuracy and compliance - - given specification - technical guidance: TG20, BSEN Check accuracy including: - drawings match requirements. - job brief - TG20 compliance sheets Describe why it is important to record and report discrepancies in the information prior to starting the work - - accuracy - compliance - reasons reporting and recording procedures in accordance with Describe the reporting procedures for solving problems with information Describe the methods and configurations to erect and dismantle Page 1 of 5 Last Updated : 08/11/2018
