36 Some carriers had used the walk up window feature, but not all. For the ones that used it did it work out? Dispatchers prefer working here because of the walk up window feature. Have there been any legitimate complaints about the building? Dispatchers complain that the offices are too small for two desks and not enough storage space. They also try to stuff their personal coffee makers, refrigerators, microwaves, and charging stations in the offices as well. re there things we could improve on in a future (Southport) design? If budget allows, I would make the offices a little larger. Most companies are assigning two dispatchers to the offices. I would reduce or eliminate the use of interior glass panels for the offices. There is no privacy but carriers need that for their own HR issues. They need to be able to shut the door for privacy. Refer to diagram 501; Office 503 is larger than the other offices. In the future, I would make all dispatch offices the same size. This will prevent future arguments about which company gets the larger office. Refer to diagram 501; For office 504, I would install a walk up window feature the same as office 500. Office 504 was designed to be used by the GLOVIS staff but this adds more flexibility by easily being turned into another dispatch office if necessary. This would be very helpful when we have surges, use special carriers, or carriers just have a question for GLOVIS staff. I would add a lockable attachment to the exterior to house the golf cart chargers. They are very unsightly and every dispatcher has at least one golf cart.
