2 Standard Case procedure New mitigation procedure which will run in parallel to the existing Special Case & TAPs mitigation Qualifying residents can select mitigation without needing to submit an application to be considered a Special Case by the Independent Compensation Panel (ICP). Discretionary offer by Tideway available for the period of concrete breaking / munching required for the jetty demolition works at Chambers Wharf In order to qualify for the Standard Case mitigation, residents must fulfil both the following criteria: a) Residents must permanently live within the Geographical Area, and b) Residents must have one of the identified Characteristics The new Standard Case procedure has been developed with input from the local agencies including LB Southwark, Southwark Mediation Centre and Citizens Advice Southwark, ICP, ICC and local ward councillors. 2

4 Standard Case Characteristics In order to qualify for the Standard Case, residents must fulfil at least one of the following Characteristics: Residents with children of a pre-school age Residents with children of a school age Residents in full time education who live at the property during term time Residents who are over state retirement age and are fully retired Residents who have retired early due to ill health Residents who work from home Residents with a recognised medical condition. 4

5 Standard Case Mitigation Available If a resident permanently lives within the Geographical Area and they fulfil one of the specified characteristics, then they can select one of the following discretionary mitigation offers during jetty demolition: 1. Secondary Glazing for habitable rooms providing they have direct line of sight to the construction site. 2. Daily Daytime Respite Payment daily payment to assist resident to go out if they so wish. 3. Temporary Office / Working Space For those who work from home Should a resident request alternative mitigation not listed above (such as overnight accommodation / temporary rehousing), then they would need to make an application to be considered a Special Case. 5

6 Standard Case Next steps Residents within the Geographical Area will be written to in the near future. Residents outside the Geographical Area can still apply to be considered a Special Case but their case will need to be assessed by the ICP. Tideway are appointing a Case Support Adviser to assist residents in applying to be a Standard Case and advising what mitigation is available. 6

12 Survey Points Flat headed nails are installed where settlement is predicted or where there are sensitive assets such as water or gas mains. They are only put where it is safe to access, normally on footpaths The nails are designed to be smaller in profile than tactile paving (which assists the blind at road crossing points) so do not constitute a trip hazard Monitoring of any settlement is undertaken periodically.
