4 Brevis Desking Brevis is contemporary, innovative, flexible and exceptionally easy to assemble and reconfigure. The desking components, on Y-frames or C-frames, have a visual lightness which is complemented by the simplicity of square-edged tops. Frames are unhanded to minimise the number of different components, and both fixed-height and adjustable-height frames are available. The extensive choice of worksurface shapes, in a wide range of both MFC and natural veneers, provides both for conventional layouts and also for more innovative configurations to suit new working practices. All tops are fitted with distinctive Brevis cable outlets either in ABS or polished stainless steel. Cable management is offered via flexible cable spines and under-desk cable trays, and via vertical cable risers in C-Frames. A choice of screen designs are available to divide space and reduce distractions. Brevis includes a wide range of complementary storage, tables and accessories. Who are Sven Christiansen? Closures include double doors, glass doors, roll-out filing drawers, and both vertical and side-opening tambour doors. Internally, Brevis storage units are all fitted with integral shelf tracking that accepts a wide range of fittings, including veneer, MFC and steel shelves, roll-out filing frames and reference shelves, lateral filing frames, pigeonhole units and wardrobe fittings. Zinc MFC (side panels, back panels, modesty panels and tambour doors only) Caramel Bamboo veneer Finish options Natural Bamboo veneer MFC (melamine) and our hand-selected, crown cut veneers are both very durable finishes. Veneers are a more costly raw material than MFC and require a lengthy and skilled series of preparation and finishing processes and therefore carry a price premium. MFC Finishes Wood grain MFC offers a realistic likeness of natural timber at an attractive cost. MFC provides consistency of colour and structure and a perfect colour match between panels. Veneer Finishes Bring greater individuality and warmth to each item of furniture. The beauty of the natural variations in hue, grain and figure make each piece unique. Storage units are fitted with handles as standard, except vertical tambour doors which have integral finger pulls. Cable Management Options All main worksurfaces are fitted with access cut-outs as standard: portholes that simply route cables through the desktop. Access cut-outs are plastic as standard: on veneered tops, polished stainless steel access cut-outs may be specified as an optional extra. Cable trays may be hung from the structural beam. These cable trays may be fitted with sockets for power, data and comms, and also provide a convenient dump for excess cable. Sectional cable spines may be used to route cables from floor to desktop or from floor to cable tray. Additionally, vertical cable risers are standard on C-frames. Notes about finishes We use crown cut wood veneers whose varying grain and figure emphasise the natural beauty and individuality of the wood. No two pieces of crown cut timber are identical, and there will be natural variations in hue, grain and figure, and both knots and colouring arising from natural minerals in the wood. Our veneer selection process seeks to keep veneer variations within predetermined limits, but some degree of variation is inevitable, especially with Natural Walnut. Most veneers either lighten or darken on exposure to light: should you add additional items at a later date, there may be an initial colour mismatch that should even out over time. Users generally love the distinctive and varying character of natural veneer, but if you require complete uniformity of colouring we recommend one of our MFC finishes. Due to the limitations of the printing process we cannot guarantee that finish colours printed in this brochure are wholly accurate: samples of all our finishes are available on request from our customer service department Cleaning Cleaning should be carried out solely with a damp cloth and soft duster. Polishes/waxes must not be used as they may harm the finish. Environmental Policy Our selection of raw materials and our manufacturing processes are under constant review to ensure that we are operating in a manner that is environmentally responsible. Wherever possible we use materials from renewable resources and avoid the use of substances that are potentially toxic or harmful. Waste timber resulting from manufacture is used to heat our factory and recycled materials are used wherever practical. Guarantee We guarantee Brevis furniture for a period of five years against any defects resulting from faulty materials or workmanship (three years in the case of moving parts). Strength & Stability Brevis has been tested to relevant sections of BS 4875 and BS 5459: please contact us for full details.
