1 SECTION WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM (CONTROL PANEL AND INSTRUMENTATION) PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and applicable provision of Division 1 Specification sections, apply to work in this Section. B. "Appendix B" Wastewater Technologies, LLC submittal for treatment equipment. C. Procurement contract for Wastewater Technologies, LLC treatment equipment. D. Other Sections describing related work SUMMARY A. This Wastewater Treatment System specification covers furnishing and installing the necessary equipment, when combined with equipment and appurtenances furnished by Wastewater Technologies, LLC as described in article 1.05 of this specification, to provide a complete and functional wastewater treatment system, as required to make a complete system meeting the targeted performance, and as specified herein. B. Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall be responsible for fabrication of the equipment, for providing services and goods, and for providing a guarantee of process performance, as described herein. The Contractor shall be responsible for installation of the equipment, as well as other aspects of construction required to produce a complete and functional system that meets the treatment objectives described herein. C. Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall provide installation assistance and startup training, as well as a process warranty, in accordance with the procurement contract QUALITY ASSURANCE A. As defined by the procurement contract, Wastewater Technologies, LLC must warrant that the installed wastewater treatment system produces an effluent which meets the performance requirements of this specification. The warranty for all parts and labor shall be for one ( 1 ) year from date of written acceptance of the Owner, not date of delivery. The warranty shall include all parts and labor to correct defects. 1. Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall warrant for 1-year from date of final acceptance of the system by the Owner that the mechanical equipment and all related items shall be free from defects in design, materials and workmanship; improper shop assembly; and leakage, breakage, or other failure. 2. Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall be solely responsible of the warranty of the equipment and all related components. Warranties and guarantees by the manufacturers of various components, in lieu of a single source responsibility by the Wastewater Treatment system manufacturer (Wastewater Technologies, LLC) are not acceptable. 3. In the event a component fails to perform as specified, or is found to be defective in service, during warranty period (excluding items of supply normally expended during operations), Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall provide a replacement part, as well as, the installation thereof, without cost to the Owner

2 4. Refer to Supplementary Conditions within the procurement contract for additional information regarding warranties. B. Factory Testing: ALL individual components of the treatment system shall be totally factory assembled and functionally tested. Factory testing shall take place at Wastewater Technologies, LLC fabrication facility DESIGN CRITERIA A. As defined in the procurement contract, the treatment system shall be designed to treat the influent flow rates listed below: 1. Average Daily Flow = 40,000 GPO 2. Peak Hourly Flow Rate into Equalization = 320,000 GPO 3. Peak Hourly Flow Rate downstream of Equalization = 120,000 GPO B. The wastewater treatment system shall be designed on the assumption that the wastewater does not contain any threshold concentration of inorganic pollutants or other such materials, solutions, or products that are inhibitory to biological treatment processes

Master Control Panel System 8. Blowers E. Refer to Appendix B for further design criteria EQUIPMENT AND APPURTANANCES ASSIGNMENT A. The following generally define the items that shall be supplied by Wastewater Technologies, LLC. Refer to Appendix B for other items in Wastewater Technologies, LLC's scope of supply. Note that all interior piping and appurtenances shall come fully assembled, excluding interior items that extend above the tank height due to transportation needs (ex. Anoxic Tank Mixer). Check Valves. B. The Contractor shall install all equipment provided by Wastewater Technologies, LLC, including all tanks and loose equipment. All conduits and wiring for power and controls shall be by the Contractor, including panel terminations. The following generally indicates items that shall be supplied by the Contractor. This list is not exhaustive and the Contractor shall perform other work as indicated in the Contract Documents. All equipment and services not provided by Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall be by the Contractor. Refer to Appendix B and the project plans: 1. General Site a. Fencing. b. Organic solvents, fuel oils, paints and thinners, photographic fluids, floor waxes and strippers, solutions containing copper compounds, cleaning agents containing quaternary ammonium chlorides and products containing compounds that are documented to inhibit biological growth shall not be discharged to the sewage treatment system

7 1.07 GUARANTEE A. Equipment: The equipment furnished under this section shall be free of defects in material and workmanship, including damages that may be incurred in shipping, handling, and storage for a period of 12-months form the date of written acceptance by Owner, not date of delivery. B. Process Guarantee: The installing Contractor shall provide the services of a representative of the Wastewater Technologies, LLC. for an inspection of the wastewater treatment plant eleven (11) months after substantial completion. The purpose of the inspection shall be to determine that the plant is properly operating and continuously meeting discharge permit requirements as outlined in these specifications. The cost of testing to determine that permit conditions are being met during this inspection shall be the responsibility of the installing Contractor and are considered incidental. The installing Contractor shall provide a written report to the Engineer and Owner certifying that the plant is operating properly and meeting permit requirements at the conclusion of this inspection and prior to the expiration of the one year warranty period COORDINATION A. The installing Contractor shall arrange for delivery of the wastewater treatment system, and shall be responsible for unloading and storing the materials. The installing Contractor shall handle and store the equipment in accordance with the Wastewater Technologies, LLC's instructions. B. The controls package, instrumentation, and other environmentally sensitive components shall be stored indoors in a controlled environment at all times, until the time for installation. C. The Wastewater Treatment System supplier is responsible for diligently coordinating with the installing Contractor on delivery and startup services. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 WASTEWATER TECHNOLOGIES, LLC A. Refer to Appendix Band drawings for products supplied by Wastewater Technologies, LLC NC UNIT FOR MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CONTROL PANEL A. Contractor shall provide the AC unit for the manufacturer provided control panel. NC unit shall be one (1) UL Type 4X stainless steel aide-mount air conditioner rated for outdoor operated rated at 8,500 BTU with 460 VAC 3 phase supply voltage, 3-pole circuit breaker protection, and 1500 W condensation heater, or equal. Contractor responsible for installation of panel equipment at the site and any final wiring. Coordinate with WWT, LLC SUN SHADE FOR MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CONTROL PANEL A. Contractor shall provide the sun shade for the manufacturer provided control panel. Sun shade shall be one (1) S&L #H87 A503A extra-large fully lockable sun shade kit, or equal. Coordinate with WWT, LLC CONTRACTOR A. Refer to appropriate sections of these specification and drawings for products listed in Part 1 herein

8 PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. The Contractor will be responsible for verifying that all materials listed in this section, Appendix B, and the plans have been delivered and that all materials and equipment have been furnished in sufficient quantity and are free from visible defects FIELD TESTING A. All treatment basins and equipment, the EQ tank, the Anoxic tank(s), the MBBR tank(s), the Sludge tank(s), the Post Aeration tank(s), the secondary clarifier(s), the site pump station, the UV Disinfection unit(s), and flow meters shall be field-tested using clean fresh water prior to acceptance. The system shall be operated to test the efficiency of all components. All systems, controls, and sequences shall be operated and demonstrated as operating as approved. The contractor shall perform all tests and shall be responsible for all necessary temporary connections, testing equipment water, and utilities and shall provide and dispose (if necessary) all water used. A factory trained representative of Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall be present for the testing INSTALLATION A. The wastewater treatment plant shall be constructed to the lines and grades as shown on the drawings. B. Install the wastewater treatment vessels in accordance with the Wastewater Technologies, LLC's specifications. C. Connect all electrical components to the package wastewater treatment plant in accordance with the requirements of Division INSTALLATION, START-UP, AND TRAINING SERVICES A. The Contractor shall notify Wastewater Technologies, LLC when they intend to begin installation of the wastewater treatment plant equipment after all the equipment has be shipped to the site. A Wastewater Technologies, LLC representative shall be ensile at a time determined by them and the contractor for a total of two (2) eight (8) hour days to provide guidance for installation. B. The Contractor shall notify Wastewater Technologies, LLC when the installation of the wastewater treatment plant equipment has been completed. A representative of the Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall inspect the installation. The representative shall advise the Contractor, Owner, and Engineer in writing of any corrections or adjustments that are required for the wastewater treatment plant equipment installation. After the wastewater treatment plant installation has been completed to the supplier's satisfaction, Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall furnish to the Contractor, Owner, and Engineer a letter of certification that all equipment is installed in accordance with its instructions and that the wastewater treatment plant is ready for operation. C. Upon receipt of a letter from the Contractor certifying that the wastewater treatment plant installation is ready for start-up, Wastewater Technologies, LLC shall provide the services of a field person for a total of two (2) eight (8) hour day(s). Time of trip shall be coordinated with Owner. The field person shall do a functional check of each item furnished by the manufacturer, and start-up of the process. During this time, the field representative will provide not less than 12 hours of operation training for Owner's personnel, which shall include familiarization with the wastewater treatment plant process, its requirements, and review of the Operation and Maintenance manuals

9 3.05 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL A. Contractor shall provide Owner with three (3) copies of an Operation and Maintenance Manual for proper operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant. The manual shall include description of treatment process and equipment operation; shop drawings, field reports, operation and maintenance procedures, process control guidelines, equipment specifications, schedules, and spare parts infonmation. A recommended list of spare parts shall be provided. END OF SECTION
