MERMET, THE NATURAL BENCHMARK!

For 60 years, Mermet has been designing and manufacturing hi-tech fabrics for building finishings. Bolstered by this experience, the company has managed to develop and ensure its long-term future through tried and tested know-how based mainly on the use of fibreglass. Superiority of this mineral: natural material abundant, light and sturdy chemically inert, unlike some synthetic petrochemical components (polyester filaments) heat-resistant and totally non-flammable durable, good dimensional stability: no stretching with a minimal lengthening, an important quality for large size solar protection

Guaranteed safety in the event of a fire The fabrics in the Mermet collection are non-flammable and fully comply with the most demanding fire safety standards in the world: French classification M1-M0 German classification B1-A2 British classification BS Chinese classification B1 American classification FR Australian classification AS Screen Nature fabric, proven incombustibility Comparison between 2 polyester fabrics, the coated glass yarn fabric Satiné 5500 and the 100% glass fabric Screen Nature from Mermet. Result: the Screen Nature obtains the highest possible classification (M0) as it is completely non-flammable. Illustration of the reaction to fire of solar protection fabrics in accordance with the French standard (NF P ). Test complies with the measurement method specified in the standard, performed in real time (4-minute duration).

Perfectly flat, does not become deformed when exposed to heat Screen Polyester fabric + PVC Fibreglass Screen + PVC Coated glass fibre fabrics offer excellent dimensional stability and good deformation resistance

Illustration of fabric deformation on a building Polyester fabrics offer mediocre stability: When exposed to temperature variations, a high PVC content causes deformation of the fabric: lengthening, shrinkage. The instability of polyester fabrics causes flatness problems and limits their use in large dimension applications.

A clean cut for perfect results Screen Polyester fabric + PVC Fibreglass Screen + PVC The coating at the heart of glass fibre technology improves the interaction between individual fibres and avoids the risk of fraying during cutting.

A clean cut for perfect results Screen Polyester fabric + PVC Fibreglass Screen + PVC Comparison of fraying between a coated polyester fibre fabric and a coated glass fibre fabric: the glass fibre fabric offers high quality rendering which is both aesthetic and high performance
