When a roadway is closed to traffic, the Contractor shall arrange to complete the installation of all storm sewers and appurtenances before the roadway is surfaced or opened to traffic. A work schedule showing the program of construction the Contractor intends to follow shall be submitted to the City Engineer for approval EXISTING WATER, SANITARY SEWER, GAS, AND OTHER UTILITY LINES The Contractor's attention is called to the fact that the location of all utility lines, telephone lines, and power lines where shown on the plans are not guaranteed nor is any assurance granted that all locations are known or indicated correctly. It is, therefore, the Contractor's responsibility to locate and protect all lines which may be encountered. In case it is necessary to remove or relocate utility lines or if utility lines are accidentally broken by the Contractor's operations, then it shall be the Contractor's responsibility, without additional compensation, to have such lines restored to a state of repair existing prior to the interruption. Special arrangements must be made between the Contractor and the officials of the utility companies for the removal or crossing of their lines. Wherever it is necessary for the Contractor to do work of a replacement nature, he shall use new materials of same quality, or as directed by the City Engineer.
