2 BENEFITS OF GABAG SUPPORTING FRAMES GABAG supporting frames for bath tubs and shower trays are well thought-out finished products, available with various element heights. They can be positioned on cast-inplace concrete, underfloors or finished floors. GABAG supporting frames are fitted in our factory with continuously adjustable soundproofing feet, and they can be mounted quickly and efficiently at virtually any installed height. 5 IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND CHECKS BEFORE INSTALLATION Checklist: Coverings and coatings: Niches for installation must be large enough, i.e. approx. 0.5 to 1.0 cm larger than the outer tray/tub dimensions depending on whether a GABAG ISOPHONE tub profile or GABAG FLEX- ZARGE is used. Important - with the monobloc system: the supporting frame can no longer be separated from the tub! (pay attention to the tipping dimension). All shower trays and acrylic bath tubs are manufactured with the monobloc system ex works. GABAG supporting frames provide a stable base surface onto which coverings such as ceramics, stone tiles, plastics or wood can be glued. The front of the GABAG supporting frame is set back by about cm from the tub/tray edge, so parallel tub/tray-edge alignment is simple. Tiles can be applied directly onto the front of the supporting frame (commonly available market tile adhesive is required). Reposition the GABAG supporting frame before installing the underfloor. To assist with formwork. For formwork on the supporting frame, apply a positioning strip. In case of a recess in the underfloor, pre-adjust the GABAG supporting frame over the soundproofing feet. Fine adjustments are made after installing the supporting frame. In case of a recess in the underfloor, note the insertion area for the levelling tool: Element type IB1: at 6.0 cm Element type IB2 and type IB3: at 12.0 cm Special dimensions possible on request Place the tub in the supporting frame and check for stable, firm fit (does the tub type match the support?) Thin plastic coatings (e.g. Novilon, synthetic resin or stucco, etc.) require a cement-free, flat base surface with a thickness of cm. A suitable baseplate for this purpose can be pre-fitted to order by GABAG. Recesses: As an exclusive feature, GABAG supporting frames have outflow recesses already installed in our factory. Additional recesses for outflow, PEX or pipework in the base area can also be added to the supporting frame on request (depending on the installation situation). For wall pipework (e.g. renovation construction work), an additional recess on the wall side can be included in the design. We shall be glad to assist and advise you on questions or special requirements.

6 INSTALLATION MADE EASY SUPPORTING FRAMES FOR BATH TUBS Check bath tub type with supporting frame (do they match?). Check niche dimensions. Tip: Measure the installation height from the standard metre mark and pre-adjust the height of the bath tub supporting frame with the levelling tool. Place the GABAG supporting frame in the niche, make the fine adjustments and align horizontally. Note tub thickness of cm (according to tub type). Before placing the bath tub in position, fit the outflow fixture and affix the GABAG ISOPHONE tub profile or GABAG FLEXZARGE to the tub edge. Place the tub in position and check for a firm and stable fit The enclosed cardboard box contains the front closure. Please follow the separate installation instructions. Fit the GABAG front closure on the supporting frame (detailed drawing and installation instructions are enclosed). Connect the outflow and check tightness. Plug the installation opening with GABAG ISO-WOLL. 7 ca. 20 mm 8 * for Minergie ECO buildings, GABAG adhesive filler foam is not used. GABAG offers a special ECO supporting frame. Tip: Before applying silicone, weigh the tub down (using a weight) or by filling the tub. SCHAUM GABAG adhesive filler foam must be ordered separately through specialist trade outlets. Align the front closure and screw on the front closure cover. For vertical wall/supporting frame joints, apply the black soundproofing profiles (cardboard box) do this over the tub edge surround as well. If necessary, fill the wall and floor joints with GABAG adhesive filler foam.*no contact between tub and adhesive filler foam! Scope of delivery: GABAG supporting frame 1 bag of GABAG ISO-WOLL 1 levelling tool front closure with installation materials (cardboard box)

7 SUPPORTING FRAMES FOR SHOWER TRAYS Check niche dimensions. Connect the outflow fixture to the outflow pipe and align with the position and height of the shower tray. Before positioning on the tray edge, affix the GABAG Isophone tray profile or the GABAG FLEXZARGE. Place the outflow pipe on the base of the GABAG shower tray supporting frame and cut out the recess for pipe leadthroughs where necessary. Adjust the tray by hand to the desired height over the soundproofing feet, and align horizontally. Tip: Measure the installation height from the standard metre mark and pre-adjust the height of the shower tray supporting frame. 4 5 * for Minergie ECO buildings, GABAG adhesive filler foam is not used. GABAG offers a special ECO supporting frame. Tip: Weigh the tub down (using a weight) before applying silicone. GABAG adhesive filler foam must be ordered separately through specialist trade outlets. Connect the siphon and check tightness. If necessary, carefully foam the shower tray supporting frame from below with GABAG adhesive filler foam.*
