3 The Recent History of Epoxy Use in Louisiana April 2014 LA DOTD Notifies all Epoxy Resin System Manufacturers of Revised Specification to Section 1017 (Requires ASTM C881 Testing) February 2015 LA DOTD Updates its AML Procedure for Epoxy Resin Systems to Reflect Specification Change and to Include NTPEP Testing

5 Louisiana DOTD s Current State of Practice For Evaluating Epoxy Manufacturer Submits Product to NTPEP for Testing Under Epoxy and Resin Based Adhesive Bonding Systems Laboratory Results Obtained from NTPEP Used to Determine Conformance to LA DOTD s Standard Specification (Section 1017) Verification Laboratory Testing Conducted by LA DOTD Field Evaluation May Be Required Submitter Notified Whether System Will or Will Not Be Added to the AML based Upon Complete Evaluation

The Member Departments of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) What Do They Do? Establish Work Plans (Requirements/Testing Criteria) for the Testing of Transportation Materials What is the Process? Manufacturers/Suppliers Submit Products to NTPEP for Laboratory/Field Testing and Results are Shared with Member Departments
