3 INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER FENCING PROJECT- MIZORAM SECTOR "Construction of Border Road & Fencing along Indo-Bangladesh Border in Mizoram State PACKAGE-II TABLABAG VILLAGE (BP NO 2335) TO BALAKESHWARI VILLAGE(BP NO-2333) FROM CHAINAGE m TO CHAINAGE m BILL OF QUANTITIES : PKG - 2 SUB-HEAD - 1A : FENCING WORKS 1 Clearing jungle including uprooting of rank vegetation grass, brush wood, trees and saplings of girth upto 30cm measured at a height of 1m above ground level and removal of rubbish upto a distance of 50m outside the periphery of the area cleared. 2 Felling trees of beyond 30 cm girth (measured at a height of 1 m above ground level) including cutting of trunks and branches removing the roots and stacking of serviceable material and disposal of unserviceable material with all lead and lift. 3 Preparationand consolidationof sub grade with power road roller of 8 to 12 tonne capacity after excavatingearth to an averageof 22.5 cm depth, dressing to camber and consolidating with road roller including making good the undulations etc. and re-rolling the sub grade and disposal of surplus earth with lead upto 50 metres. 4 Providing and fixing security fencing of Gl barbed wire consisting of copper enriched MS angle posts of 90x90x6 mm 3000 mm length above ground level (2000 mm vertical and 1000 mm slanting) duly fabricated and welded at bend as per drawing and 600 mm below ground level placed at 3000 mm centre to centre and embeddedin cement concrete blocks 450 mm dia at bottom and 300mm at top 750mm deep placed at 700 mm below ground level bed and every 10 th post, end posts & corner posts to be strutted with copper enriched MS angle strut on both sides, of size 90x90x6 mm and 2910 mm in length (200 mm vertical at top and 2710 mm slanting down) fabricated and welded as per drawing bolted to vertical posts with two Nos 12mm dia & 50 mm long MS bolts & nuts with washers, struts embedded in cement concrete blocks of 1000x300 mm upto 300mm height at top and sloped towards bottom of area 300 x 300 mm at overall depth of 800 mm size placed at 700 mm below ground level as per EPI drawing, including providing and 100 sqm , nos , sqm ,274, fixing galvanised iron barbed wire duly painted by dipping in paint twice with anticorrosive bitumastic paint (IS:158) of approved brand and manufacture in black shade to give a smooth and even surface, size of barbed wire 2.5x2 mm (Weight to be not less than 108 gms per metre length ) conforming to IS: in 20 horizontal rows (13 rows in vertical portion and 7 rows in slanting portion) to be fixed and stretched with MS hooks/tighteningbolts(as per drawing) and properly woven with four-diagonals (two in vertical portion and two in goose neck portion as per EPI drawing of same GI barbed wire to be fixed to angle iron posts in holes with 2.5 mm dia and 100 long Gl staples/clips and providingvertical and diagonal strands of barbed wire properlyinterwoven with horizontalrows of barbed wire at a spacing of 150 mm upto a height of 7 rows of fencing aboveground level, adequatelytied at three places in staggered manner with Gl wire of not less than 16 guage as per EPI drawing and providing two sets of spikes each set consisting of 75 x 6 mm MS Flat 1

4 1000 mm long with 10 nos pointed spikes made of 75 mm long 10mm dia MS rods welded to this MS flat & fixing the same on both the faces of angle iron post in goose neck portion with 3 nos 10 mm dia, 50 mm long MS nuts and bolts with washers and seven holes to clip the Barbed wire in each face as per EPI drawing including applying primer & paint (in five coats as per special conditions and specifications) as per approved brand and manufacture to give an even shade on all steel work except portion embeddedin cement concrete. The barbed wire will be stretched in such a way that the untied length of concertina coil is not more than 6.00 metre as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.(Measurement shall be taken for each row cosisting of both layers of coil) metre , Providing and fixing MS square vertical post for MS gate formed by welding two Nos MS angle of size 100x100x8mm, 4200 mm long, 2850mm above ground level and 1350mm below ground, welded throughout to vertical outer angle post of fencing, both embeded in 1000 x800x1500 mm foundation block of reinforced cement concrete 1: 2:4(1cement :2 coarse sand :4 graded stone aggregate20mm nominal size)including cost of centring & shuttering, post to be strutted with angle strut of size 90x90x6mm and 2500mm in length (300mm vertical at top and 2200mm slanting down) bolted to vertical post with 2 nos. 16mm dia 200mm long M.S. bolts and nuts, also including 400x400x8mm base plate, 210x100x8mm triangular stiffener plates jointing the post and the base plate on the four corners, including applying primer & paint (as per Special conditions and specifications) of approvedbrand and manufacturer to give an even shade on all steel work except the portion embeddedin RCC. The top of post shall be provided with MS plate of 125 mm x 125 mm size, 4 mm thick on which 4 Nos pointed spikes of 10mm dia and 75mm long to be welded in scattered way and post sides to be welded with 5 nos 8mm thick cleats with holes for 25mm pintols as shown. The cold twisted steel reinforcement for RCC foundation block comprising of 4 Nos vertical bars of 12mm dia, 8nos 8mm dia stirrups etc complete as per EPI drawing. each ,

Each gate consists of (a) 1.6mm thick MS sheet with 60mm dia staggered holes cut to size and welded with frame consisting of MS angle 50mm x 50mm x 6mm, Tee 50mm x 50mm x 6mm, Cross bracing of MS angle 35mm x 35mm x 6mm, Flat 40mm x 6mm gusset plate 6mm thick. (b) Blade with teeth made of M.S. Flat 25mm x 3mm & M.S spikes of 16mm dia rod 600mm long welded at the top of c/c. (c ) 3 rows of barbed c/c fixed at the top of the gate frame. (d) MS hinges with pintal of 25mm dia and 80mm long (2x5nos), 4 nos 450mm long tower bolts with 40mm dia G.I socket and locking arrangement and a pair of 50mm dia rollers. (e) 150mm thick CC 1:2:4 (1cement: 2 coarse sand: 4 graded stone aggregateof 20mm nominal size) laid over 150mm thick CC 1:5:10 (1cement: 5 coarse sand : 10 graded stone aggregateof 40mm nominal size) and random rubble masonry work with hard stone in cement mortar 1:6 (1 cement:6 coarse sand) including necessary earth work and providing & fixing circular MS Tee 50mm x 50mm x 6mm for easy movement of rollers.
