2 KLWTD August 7 Monthly Report Operations Wastewater Treatment Plant The wastewater treatment plant processed an average of.5 million gallons of influent per day (MGD). Zero plant related odor complaints were received for the current month. Effluent Quality Report The effluent quality report is used to determine the quality of discharge from the wastewater treatment plant. Salinity Wastewater Field Operations There was a total of callouts for the current month. Of these, were system generated, mostly by low vacuum detection at a vacuum station. These callouts had no effect on the District s customers and the problems were corrected by the field staff before any negative consequences could occur. The customer also stated that the smell was giving her and her family health issues and that she would be contacting news crews and attorneys. Customer stated that she has been smelling sewer/gas smell on the second floor of house No odor was detected by multiple KLWTD employees or an odor logger that was hung. Crews replaced old carbon in the odor control and customer now states that the smell is gone. Homeowner issue Follow-up Complete? Yes Yes

During startup, some problems were discovered with the pump skids. The manufacturer took pumps back to the shop and is to provide a schedule for correction of deficiencies. The deficiencies included seal leaks, incomplete protective coatings, and one piping modification needed. Vacuum Station F Booster Pump Aqseptence Group Inc. $5,88 N/A $,87 $,5 The contract amount for Aqseptence Group is for the vacuum pump and startup services. Other materials and labor are needed to complete the job. Status Update: The vacuum pump was received and maintenance staff placed orders for the piping, conduit, wiring and hardware to install the booster pump system. The parts were all acquired by the end of August. Installation and startup are to take place in September.

7 KLWTD August 7 Monthly Report Upcoming Construction Projects Project Estimate Status Headworks Bypass Piping Process Water Pumping System Stormwater Retention Area Project $7,5 $,55 $, $, Headworks bypass piping design is complete. Valve actuators have been included in the design. Replacement of corroded conduit and repair of concrete and coatings is also included in the project. It is anticipated that the project will go out to bid in October 7. The plant process water pumping system design was completed. The technical specifications are to be assembled. The project will be bid along with the headworks bypass piping project. It is anticipated that the project will go out to bid in October 7. After consulting with staff, it was determined that staff could selfperform this work using rental equipment. The milling and brooming were completed in August. The next step will be placement of light gray granite to cover the bottom of the retention area. Some minor sod installation may be needed to stabilize the embankment where equipment entered the work area. Maintenance Project Preventative Maintenance Corrective Maintenance Status Calibrated all analog vacuum gauges at the vacuum stations, Calibrated vacuum chart readout at vacuum station E, replaced sludge thickener polymer pump tubing, serviced odor control motor at vacuum station D, annual maintenance on service trucks and performed all monthly and weekly maintenance and inspections on plant and field operations equipment and vehicles. Repaired plant pump station pump and replaced damaged level float, replaced worn out headworks spiral screen gearbox, replaced faulty PLC network switch at vacuum station D, replaced faulty effluent ph meter keypad and display, realigned and replaced drive belt on the odor control motor at vacuum station A. 7
