1 Submittal TYPE XXX a division of PABCO building products, LLC "Quality to the Core" PABCO Gypsum a division of PABCO building products, LLC PO Box Rancho Cordova, CA Technical Services: Description: Primary Uses: R FLAME CURB Type X, Type XXX, Type C Gypsum Wallboard PABCO Gypsum Specification PGS-002 AS specification C 1396 Available in MOLD CURB Plus type X to the PABCO FLAME CURB gypsum wallboard is a family of gypsum panel products composed of a fire-resistant gypsum core, reinforced with glass fibers which provides increased strength and enhanced fire-resistant properties. The face paper is folded around the long edges to reinforce as well as to protect the core; the panel ends are cut square. The long panel edges are tapered, allowing a recessed joint area to be reinforced and concealed to create a monolithic wall or ceiling surface suitable for decoration. PABCO 5/8" FLAME CURB type X and 1/2" FLAME CURB type XXX meet and/or exceed the requirements specified by AS under its wallboard standard AS C 1396 type-x. FLAME CURB Super C, in thicknesses of 1/2" and 5/8", exceed all of these previously mentioned classified core formulations in fire-resistance performance. (Systems are specifically tested at approved laboratories (see listing under Application) using these various core formulas, and those systems which successfully pass the stringent fire tests are approved for construction and are listed in the fire testing lab directory or in the Gypsum Association Fire Resistance Design Manual GA-600). PABCO FLAME CURB is manufactured with 100% recycled paper on face and back sides, affording a surface designed to receive joint treatment, paint, wall covering, or textured coatings. PABCO FLAME CURB is a non-structural wall covering material intended for interior walls, ceilings, and partitions in residential and commercial applications which often require specific fire-resistant assemblies. Additional applications include use as a roof underlayment per GA-276. This product is designed for direct mechanical attachment to metal or wood framing members. With the wallboard joints properly treated per GA-216 and GA-214, PABCO FLAME CURB will resist the passage of smoke. TYPE XXX Limitations: PABCO FLAME CURB is intended for interior applications, and shall not be used where there will be direct exposure to water or continuous high humidity before, during, and after construction. Avoid exposure to temperatures exceeding 125 of (52 oc) for an extended period of time. PABCO FLAME CURB is a non-structural panel, not to be used as a structural fastener base or to support wall or ceiling mounted objects. All materials used in conjunction with the application of PABCO FLAME CURB type X, XXX, or Super C gypsum panels in Fire or Sound Rated systems shall be as specified in the applicable specific test report. TYPE XXX Application: PABCO Gypsum endorses the Gypsum Association s publication GA-216 and AS Standard Specification C 840 as its application documents, which provide detailed instructions on the standard application of wallboard panels and proper joint finishing procedures. PABCO FLAME CURB systems must be installed in strict compliance with the detailed fire test assembly description, including core types and other components such as studs, fastener spacing and fasteners required, and applied as tested. To qualify for listed sound ratings, special caulking, insulation, or clips are generally added to the systems as detailed in the test report. Those systems that have been fire and sound tested are listed in the following: Gypsum Association Fire Resistance Design Manual (GA-600). PABCO Gypsum Quality to the Core Brochure (see PABCO Gypsum website). ICC: ESR UL Fire Resistance Directory. ITS, NGTS, NRC, RAL, SWRi, UL, or WFCi Test Reports. Finishing of joints, wall or ceiling surfaces, and covering fasteners, is addressed in GA-214, GA-216, and AS C 840.

5 Submittal a division of PABCO building products, LLC "Quality to the Core" R PABCORE SHAFTLINER PABCO Gypsum a division of PABCO building products, LLC PO Box Rancho Cordova, CA Technical Services: PABCO Gypsum Specification PGS-008 AS specification C 1396 to the Description: PABCORE SHAFTLINER type X panels are manufactured with a proprietary fire resistant type X core which has been reinforced with glass fibers and speciality additives to increase its fire-resistance. This core is encased in 100% recycled water-resistant face and back paper, and features a double beveled edge for ease of installation. PABCORE SHAFTLINER type X is distinguishable by the light green coloration of the water-resistant paper facing. Primary Uses: PABCORE SHAFTLINER type X panels are designed for lining elevator, ventilation, and utility shafts, as well as constructing lightweight sound attenuation fire-resistant cavity shaft walls, and area separation fire walls in multifamily dwellings such as townhouses, condominiums, and apartments. These panels are key components in PABCO Shaftwall and Area Separation Fire Wall (ASFW) Systems utilizing C-H, C-T Studs or H-Studs. PABCO Shaftwall Systems are easy to erect, achieving fire-resistance ratings of one and two hours. Both solid and cavitytype area separation walls provide Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings that exceed model building code requirements with designs that achieve STC ratings in excess of 60. Area Separation Fire Wall assemblies are light weight, weighing no more than 10 lbs/ft 2 when constructed. As a result, the need for costly footings or foundation modifications are often eliminated. Due to the relatively light weight panels, they can be installed up to four (4) stories in height. When used as an area separation wall, the system must be: ʶʶ Continuous from the foundation to the underside of the protected roof sheathing or continue through the roof to form a parapet. ʶʶ Designed to allow for collapse of the construction on the side of the wall exposed to fire without collapse of the area separation fire wall. Limitations: Shaftwall/Stairwell systems are designed as nonload bearing. (NLB) Do not install in areas which will be adjacent to occupancies of unusually high moisture conditions. Where penetrations occur in the assembly, additional reinforcement at corners may be required to distribute stress; approved flexible sealant/caulking may be required to seal around some penetrations. Through penetrations are not allowed in area separation fire walls that are designed to collapse on the fire side. Not recommended for use as an unlined HVAC supply shaft or duct. Limiting heights and deflection criteria must be based upon the metal stud manufacturer s recommendations. Page #24

6 Application: PABCORE SHAFTLINER type X and PABCORE MOLD CURB Plus SHAFTLINER type X panels may be used in one and two-hour shaftwall systems, one and two-hour horizontal corridor ceiling systems and two-hour Area Separation Walls. 7 Submittal a division of PABCO building products, LLC "Quality to the Core" R REGULAR Gypsum Wallboard PABCO Gypsum a division of PABCO building products, LLC PO Box Rancho Cordova, CA Technical Services: PABCO Gypsum Specification PGS-001 AS specification C 1396 Available in MOLD CURB Plus PABCO s famous to the Products Description: PABCO Regular Gypsum Wallboard is an interior gypsum board product with a fireresistant, dimensionally stable, gypsum core. Each panel is encased in a 100% recycled paper on the face and back sides. The face paper is folded around the long edges to reinforce and protect the core; the ends are square cut and finished smooth. Long edges of panels are tapered providing a recessed area that allows joints to be reinforced and concealed with joint treatment creating a monolithic wall finish. High quality face paper manufactured by PABCO Paper provides a smooth surface which can be decorated with paint, texture or wallpaper. Primary Uses: PABCO Regular Gypsum Wallboard products are utilized in non-structural wall, ceiling and partition applications, for use in new construction or renovation work. Both may also be used as a covering material for flat or curved surfaces. Limitations: PABCO Regular Gypsum Wallboard panels are intended for interior applications and shall not be used where there will be direct exposure to water or continuous high humidity before, during, and/or after construction. Gypsum panel products shall not be exposed to sustained temperatures exceeding 125 F (52 C).
