Included in the download are three files: (1) digital copy (.pdf) framing plan, (2) a materials list (.xls), and (3) the original SketchUp 3D drawing (.skp). To open the SketchUp (.skp) file you'll need to download some software a copy of SketchUp Make or a paid copy of SketchUp Pro. Most people will find the free copy of SketchUp Make perfectly adequate. To download this software visit ABOUT FRAMING PLANS These plans include the details to frame the structure but do not specify how the house should be finished inside and out. The reason for this is simple; there are just a few ways to frame a house and an infinite number of ways to finish it off. So by focusing on the structure and leaving the aesthetic details up to you we're about to keep the cost of our plans low, while keeping most of the true value of the plans intact. If you're looking to learn or build yourself a custom home our plans are likely the most economical option available. If you're looking to build a precise copy of one of our friend's tiny house designs then it's probably worth spending the extra money on their complete & details plans. See links to some of our friends under the Resources section on this page. SUGGESTIONS & TIPS Framing Door Openings - The plans show walls with door openings in their completed state. But to help keep walls strait & square during construction it is suggested to frame the bottom plate as a solid piece and then cut it out once the wall is in place. Openings in Sheathing - The plans detail all window and door opening dimensions for sheathing, but it is suggested to focus on the exterior dimensions and cut the openings once the sheathing is in place with a router or saw. Building Adhesive - It is suggested that you use building adhesive on all framing to sheathing joints. Structural Connectors - It is suggested that you build a tiny house with standard hurricane & earthquake structural connectors. Tiny homes on wheels are subjected to sustained winds during moves so every effort should be made to build with materials that help the house stay intact during such conditions. Trailers - Unless you have experience with metalwork and building trailers we don't recommend building on used flatbed trailers. Often the money saved is later spend on working around these bargain trailers. Instead it is suggested that you buy or have built a trailer specifically configured for a tiny house. Often these trailer have extra flanges to accommodate building walls over the fenders and high weight capacity components. RESOURCES You may notice that these plans are presented more like step-bystep instructions than normal house plans. Our hope is that this helps explain the building process. But since no house plan can teach you how to build a house, we recommend that you look into these available resources. This Licensed Product is protected by copyright laws and treaties, as well as laws and treaties related to other forms of intellectual property. Tiny House Design or its subsidiaries, affiliates, and suppliers (collectively "Tiny House Design") own intellectual property rights in the Licensed Product. The Licensee's ("you" or "your") license to download, use, copy, or change the Licensed Product is subject to these rights and to all the terms and conditions of this End User License Agreement ("Agreement"). 1) The Licensed Product contain the plans for the framing of a tiny house. The Licensed Product is provided on an as is basis. Use of the Licensed Product is at your own risk. The plans assume general construction knowledge, including but not limited to framing, roofing, electrical, and plumbing knowledge. Our plans are designed to satisfy generally accepted professional standards and practices, but have not been checked for compliance with any specific site or local codes. You solely assume any and all risks with respect to the construction of your house based on the Licensed Product. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure that the plans meet local codes and site specific requirements. We recommend consulting with your local building authority before the construction of any structure. License Grant This Agreement entitles you to use this copy of the Licensed Product to build a tiny house. In addition, you may make archival copies of the Licensed Product. The archival copies must be may only be used for the reinstallation of the Licensed Product. Multiple copy use or installation is only allowed if you obtain an appropriate licensing agreement for each user and each copy of the Licensed Product. Restrictions on Transfer Without first obtaining the express written consent of Tiny House Design, you may not assign your rights and obligations under this Agreement, or redistribute, encumber, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise transfer your rights to the Licensed Product. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, our liability under this Agreement shall be limited to the total fees you pay to us pursuant to this Agreement. UNLESS OTHERWISE EXPLICITLY AGREED TO IN WRITING BY TINY HOUSE DESIGN, TINY HOUSE DESIGN MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OTHER THAN AS SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT OR IN THE LIMITED WARRANTY DOCUMENTS PROVIDED WITH THE Licensed Product. Tiny House Design makes no warranty that the Licensed Product will meet your requirements or operate under your specific conditions of use. Tiny House Design makes no warranty that operation of the Licensed Product will be secure, error free, or free from interruption. YOU MUST DETERMINE WHETHER THE Licensed Product SUFFICIENTLY MEETS YOUR REQUIREMENTS FOR SECURITY AND UNINTERRUPTABILITY. YOU BEAR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS INCURRED DUE TO FAILURE OF THE Licensed Product TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS. TINY HOUSE DESIGN WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL TINY HOUSE DESIGN, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PARTY FOR INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING LOST REVENUES OR PROFITS OR LOSS OF BUSINESS) RESULTING FROM THIS AGREEMENT, OR FROM THE FURNISHING, PERFORMANCE, INSTALLATION, OR USE OF THE Licensed Product, WHETHER DUE TO A BREACH OF CONTRACT, BREACH OF WARRANTY, OR THE NEGLIGENCE OF TINY HOUSE DESIGN OR ANY OTHER PARTY, EVEN IF TINY HOUSE DESIGN IS ADVISED BEFOREHAND OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT THAT THE APPLICABLE JURISDICTION LIMITS TINY HOUSE DESIGN'S ABILITY TO DISCLAIM ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, THIS DISCLAIMER SHALL BE EFFECTIVE TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED. Limitation of Remedies and Damages Your remedy for a breach of this Agreement or of any warranty included in this Agreement is the correction or replacement of the Licensed Product. Selection of whether to correct or replace shall be solely at the discretion of Tiny House Design. Tiny House Design reserves the right to substitute a functionally equivalent copy of the Licensed Product as a replacement. If Tiny House Design is unable to provide a replacement or substitute Licensed Product or corrections to the Licensed Product, your sole alternate remedy shall be a refund of the purchase price for the Licensed Product exclusive of any costs for shipping and handling. Any claim must be made within the applicable warranty period. All warranties cover only defects arising under normal use and do not include malfunctions or failure resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, problems with electrical power, acts of nature, unusual temperatures or humidity, improper installation, or damage determined by Tiny House Design to have been caused by you. All limited warranties on the Licensed Product are granted only to you and are non-transferable. You agree to indemnify and hold Tiny House Design harmless from all claims, judgments, liabilities, expenses, or costs arising from your breach of this Agreement and/or acts or omissions. Governing Law, Jurisdiction and Costs This Agreement is governed by the laws of California, without regard to California's conflict or choice of law provisions. Severability If any provision of this Agreement shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
