The term Decorative Lighting Assembly means the complete assemblage of poles, parts, fixtures, equipment, and miscellaneous components, erected as shown on the plans and in accordance with these specifications forming a complete and independent lighting unit. 2. Materials. Provide new materials which comply with the details shown on the plans, the requirements of this Item, and the pertinent requirements of the following Items: Item 616, Performance Testing of Lighting Systems Item 618, Conduit Item 620, Electrical Conductors Item 628, Electrical Services Furnish a post that is heavy wall, copper free, cast aluminum. Ensure the castings are formed true to the pattern with complete detail. Provide tamper resistant, stainless steel hardware. Furnish anchor bolts that are completely hot dip galvanized. Ensure fixtures are UL-listed; meet NEMA, NEC, and the Electrical Detail standard sheet requirements. Ensure poles are designed to AASHTO requirements. Furnish 6 sets of submittals of the cast aluminum pole and decorative fixture (Type A) to the Engineer at the project address. Do not begin work before these submittals are approved by Engineer. Submittals shall include product data for each luminaire, pole, and support component. Include data on features, accessories, finishes, and the following: 1. Physical description of luminaire, including materials, dimensions, effective projected area, and verification of indicated parameters. 2. Details of attaching luminaires and accessories. 3. Details of installation and construction. 4. Luminaire materials. 5. Photometric data based on laboratory tests of each luminaire type, complete with indicated lamps, ballasts, and accessories. a. Manufacturer Certified Data: Photometric data shall be certified by manufacturer's laboratory with a current accreditation under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program for Energy Efficient Lighting Products.Photoelectric relays. 6. Ballasts, including energy-efficiency data. 7. Lamps, including life, output, CCT, CRI, lumens, and energy-efficiency data. 8. Materials, dimensions, and finishes of poles

2 9. Means of attaching luminaires to supports, and indication that attachment is suitable for components involved. 10. Anchor bolts for poles. 11. Manufactured pole foundations. Shop Drawings shall include plans, elevations, sections, details, and attachments to other work: 1. Detail equipment assemblies and indicate dimensions, weights, loads, required clearances, method of field assembly, components, and location and size of each field connection. 2. Anchor-bolt templates keyed to specific poles and certified by manufacturer. 3. Design calculations, certified by a qualified professional engineer, indicating strength of screw foundations and soil conditions on which they are based. 4. Wiring Diagrams: For power, signal, and control wiring. Decorative pedestrian lights and poles shall be manufactured by Kim Lighting or approved equal. s shall be 6 inch diameter round and approximately 20 feet tall. construction shall be of seamless round extruded aluminum tube of alloy 6063-T6, welded to top and bottom of aluminum base casting of alloy 356. Mounting arms shall support 150 watt Pulse Start Metal Halide luminaires at approximately 18 above finished sidewalk. Provide an optical assembly positioned so that reflected light does not pass through the lamp arc tube to achieve maximum light output. Ensure the optical assembly is designed for IES Type III lighting distributions. Lens frame and lens shall be one-piece die-cast, low copper aluminum alloy. Provide stainless steel hinges for attachment to housing. Provide a single stainless steel thumb latch for toolless entry and conceal from normal view. Enclosure shall be high temperature rated, 3/16 thick, clear injection molded acorn enclosure, with UV stabilized seals. Ensure stainless steel bolts are used to attach luminaire to mounting arms. Provide an optical assembly rigidly mounted within a one-piece die-cast aluminum alloy enclosure. Reflectors shall be field rotatable in 90 degree increments. The optical segments should be positioned so that reflected light does not pass through the lamp arc tube to achieve maximum light output. Provide a mogul base socket rated 4KV. All electrical components shall be UL and CSA recognized. All ballasts shall have high power factor with starting temperatures of -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Provide a 150 watt- 120/240 volt (multi-volt ballast) pulse start metal halide lamp, refractive globe acorn style, IES Cutoff decorative fixture with a decorative base, an integral globe holder, and ballast housing. Pressure of wind on pole, luminaire, banners, and banner arms shall be calculated and applied as stated in AASHTO LTS-4-M. 3. Construction. Perform the work in accordance with the details shown on the plans and the requirements of the Item

3 Erect poles and luminaries that are located near any overhead or underground utilities, using caution. Consult with the appropriate utility companies before beginning such work. Consider the careful erection and aligning of the pedestrian illumination assemblies as essential features of the installation of lighting assemblies. Perform work and install new material in accordance with the details shown on the plans, and the requirements of this Item. Ensure components of the electrical system meet the requirements of the Electrical Detail Standards. Follow the NEC and local utility company requirements when installing the electrical equipment. Coordinate the utility companies work for providing service. 4. Measurement. This Item will be measured by the each unit complete in place, except for the foundation. 5. Payment. The work performed and materials furnished in accordance with this Item and measured as provided under Measurement will be paid for at the unit price bid for Decorative Lighting Assembly Type (A). This price is full compensation for furnishing, installing, and testing luminaires; ballasts, poles, lamps, anchor bolts, internal conductors, and connections; system performance testing; and equipment, labor, tools, and incidentals
