Ceramic Tile: Clean of all dirt, grease and foreign matter. D. Dex-O-Tex Floors: Sand and vacuum in manner as for grouting. Job Site Survey A. Perform moisture testing in accordance with one of the following methods: ASTM F1869 Standard Test Method for Measuring Moisture Vapor Emission Rate of Concrete Subfloor Using Anhydrous Calcium Chloride. Verify and document the results in accordance with the specification. If MVER exceeds 3 lbs./24 hrs./1000 sq. ft. and is under 10 lbs./24 hrs./1000 sq. ft., apply Dex- O-Tex VaporControl Primer 200 as per Application Specification S-970. If MVER exceeds 10 lbs./24 hrs./1000 sq. ft. and under 15 22* lbs./24 hrs./1000 sq. ft., apply VaporControl Primer 100 as per application specification S-972. ASTM F2170 Determining Relative Humidity in Concrete Floor Slabs Using in situ Probes. Verify and document the results in accordance with the specification. If the insitu relative humidity (rh) of the substrate is greater than 75% and less than 84%, apply Dex-O-Tex VaporControl Primer 200 as per Application Specification S-970. If the insitu relative humidity (rh) is greater than 84%, and less than 89 99%*, apply VaporControl Primer 100 as per Application Specification S-972. *Apply VaporControl Primer 100 at the specified thickness required as per Application Dex-O-Tex Application Specification Page 2 of 5 Posi-Tred CR

3 Specification S-972 for the level of MVER or insitu relative humidity percentage of the substrate. B. Inspect substrate to verify proper preparation before applying any materials. C. Measure and record ambient temperature and humidity, surface temperature and the temperature of the material being used. Do not proceed with the application if the conditions are outside the recommended parameters. D. Inspect materials to be used. Verify material is the proper material and all components and sizes are correct. Inspect all containers and verify a proper factory seal with no signs of damage or leakage. Premix Liquid materials into a smooth homogenous blend before uses. Environmental Conditions All materials are mixed, applied and cured at the job site. Minimum environmental conditions are required to facilitate proper curing and Performance of the Products. Ensure conditions are in accordance with the following requirements. Ambient Min Max Temperature 45 O F 100 O F Relative Humidity 20% rh 85% rh Wind NA 30 mph Substrate Temperature 55 O F 90 O F Relative Humidity NA 78% MVER NA 3 lbs* Materials Temperature 60 O F 85 O F *3 lbs of MVT, per 1000 sq. ft., during 24 hr. period as measured by ASTM F1869. Materials should be delivered in original packages and containers with seals unbroken and bearing manufacturer's labels containing brand name and directions for storage and mixing with other components. Check materials immediately upon receipt, verify all the correct materials in the correct packaging are accounted for in good condition. Sort the materials and store them in a tempered storage area. STEP ONE - Bondcoat A. After the surface to be covered has been properly prepared, pour the contents of the can containing AF Bondcoat Component B into the can containing Component A. Blend thoroughly with a Jiffy mixer or other mechanical means for two (2) minutes. AF Bondcoat has a pot life of approximately one hour. The working time of the material will be lengthened if it is poured out of the mixing pail and either onto the surface and then worked from there, or else poured into a wide receptacle (such as a paint roller tray) and then worked from that.a unit of AF Bondcoat when applied with squeegee, will cover approximately 250 sq. ft. (23.23 sq. meters) over typically absorptive concrete. B. Apply AF Bondcoat by trowel, brush or hand squeegee. Apply only a thin coating. Apply evenly and remove all excess, leave no puddles. C. AF Bondcoat may be applied in one of several techniques: 1. Apply to small area in a very thin coat with squeegee or trowel immediately prior to application of Posi-Tred "CR" Grout. LEAVE NO PUDDLES. 2. Apply as above to large area and subsequently install Posi-Tred CR Grout over wet AF Bondcoat with mechanics working on knee-boards. 3. Apply as above, broadcast fine sand onto wet Bondcoat, allow to dry overnight, and apply Posi-Tred CR Grout over dry Bondcoat. STEP TWO - Posi-Tred CR Grout A. If using Unit 1 packaging, pour entire contents of the cans containing Posi-Tred CR, Components A & B into mixing bucket and blend thoroughly. Add to this mixture the entire contents of 1/2 gal. can containing Posi-Tred Grout Powder. Continue to mix. Blending time should be Dex-O-Tex Application Specification Page 3 of 5 Posi-Tred CR

4 approximately two minutes with a powder drill and puddle similar to a "Jiffy" blade to ensure thorough dispersing of the Components A & B with the Posi-Tred Grout Powder. If using bulk packaging, mix material at ratio of 3 parts Component A to 2 parts Component B. Scale up grout powder to 1.3 one-half gallon of mixed Posi-Tred. Pour mixed material onto the prepared surface and spread out evenly with a trowel or squeegee: Workability time is up to thirty (30) minutes depending upon room temperature. Typical spread rate per unit for Posi-Tred Grout coat will be approximately 100 sq. ft. (9.3 sq. meters) per unit. Spread rates vary depending on surface texture. Allow Posi-Tred Grout to set to hardness - minimum eight (8) hours. B. After Posi-Tred Grout has set, lightly and rapidly sand surface with disc sander mounting #60 grit paper. STEP THREE - Posi-Tred CR NOTE: Posi-Tred CR in medium profile may be installed in either of two methods described below. In general, Method A (Trowel-Roller) will produce the most uniformly textured surface. Method B (Trowel-Broadcast) will produce a more slipresistant surface. Posi-Tred CR Very Fine and Fine can be installed only by Method A. Posi-Tred CR Coarse can be installed only by Method B. METHOD A (Trowel-Roller) A. If using Unit 1 packaging, pour entire contents of the can containing Posi-Tred CR Components A&B into a mixing bucket and blend thoroughly, then add Slip-Resistant Aggregate in desired profile and quantity and blend until all dry particles are wetted. Blending time should be approximately three (3) minutes with a power drill and paddle similar to a "Jiffy" blade to ensure thorough dispersing of the Components A & B with Slip-Resistant Aggregate. Note: If using Bulk packaging, scale up Slip-Resistant Aggregate by a ratio of 1.3 times amount shown for Unit for each gallon of mixed Posi-Tred. B. Pour mixed material onto the previously grouted surface and spread out evenly with a trowel to the thickness of the largest aggregate. Workability time is up to thirty (30) minutes depending upon room temperature. Follow the troweled spread with a short-nap mohair roller to even out the texture and to eliminate trowel marks. Change roller covers as necessary. Spread rate per unit for this coat by the Trowel- Roller Method will be approximately: Unit Packaging One Mixed Gallon (Bulk) Very Fine Profile sq. ft sq. ft. Fine Profile sq. ft sq. ft. Medium Profile sq. ft sq. ft. C. For best results allow to dry for sixteen - twentyfour hours before opening to foot traffic. Maximum chemical cure will not result for seven (7) days. METHOD "B" (Trowel-Broadcast) A. Pour entire contents of Posi-Tred CR Component A and Component B into a mixing bucket and blend thoroughly. Blending time should be approximately two minutes with a power drill and mixing blade similar to a Jiffy blade to ensure thorough dispersing of Components A & B. B. Pour mixed material onto the prepared surface and spread out evenly with a trowel. Workability time is up to thirty (30) minutes depending upon room temperature. Spread rate per unit for this coat will be approximately 255 sq. ft. Dex-O-Tex Application Specification Page 4 of 5 Posi-Tred CR

5 C. Immediately, as the Posi-Tred CR material flows out, the Slip-Resistant Aggregates should be broadcast into the wet Posi-Tred Broadcasting aggregate may be accomplished by means of mechanical broadcaster or manually. Care must be taken to ensure uniformity of aggregate distribution. Follow the broadcasting by using a short-nap roller to even out the texture, coat the aggregate, and to eliminate trowel marks. Change roller covers as necessary. D. For best results allow to set for sixteen (16) hours before opening to foot traffic. Maximum cure and chemical resistance will not result for seven days.
