2 Eureka Tower (Grocon) Speedpanel has been, and continues to be, used in many iconic projects throughout Australia due to its multitude of benefits. In Eureka Tower Speedpanel was installed as a shaft wall to fire-rate the main fire escape staircase. Eureka Tower is one of the world s tallest apartment buildings, reaching 88 storeys into the Melbourne skyline.

3 The Gold Coast University Hospital (Lend Lease) The new state-of-the-art 750 bed Health Facility saw Speedpanel used due to its generous versatility. Speedpanel s extensive array of tests and assessments concerning penetrations saw it used for many applications including courtyard and and atrium fire compartment walls, plant rooms and service risers.

4 MCG Redevelopment (Grocon) Speedpanel was used for plant room dividing walls and the grandstand end infill. Speedpanel was chosen because of its fire and acoustic properties. Speedpanel replaced the need for large amounts of structural steel work to support the architectural external cladding. Speedpanel is also easily adapted for fitting into sloped areas. Below sees the Speedpanel wall being used as the brace for the electrical tracks and cabinet mounting.

5 Hisense Arena (Thiess) Speedpanel was used at the front and rear of Hisense Arena as external and internal acoustic walls. Hisense Arena (formerly Voadfone Arena) is well known as a major venue for international performers and was also the venue for the FINA 2007 World Swimming Championships; it s maximum seating capacity is 10,000 people.

7 Media House, Melbourne (Grocon) Speedpanel was extensively used around all shafts and plant rooms in this 5 star energy rated commercial building.

8 Government Services Offices (GSO) (Grocon) This new six star office building in Dandenong, Victoria houses over 900 employees previously spread over four government departments. By using Speedpanel instead of conventional building products, the high green credentials helped upgrade the building from its original five star design to the completed six star energy rating. Speedpanel was used in the fire escape stairs, shafts and service risers among other areas.

9 Further use of Speedpanel in the carpark plenum walls, lift lobby areas and lower level tenancy areas provided Grocon with a simple, easy to build solution for their fire rated and acoustic walls. Many tests and assessments for pipe and duct penetrations made the certifiers sign off easily.

10 AXA Office Complex (Grocon) Speedpanel was used to construct all duct risers providing the needed fire protection. Sealed Speedpanel also replaced the pressurised vertical ducts altogether, providing both time and cost savings to Grocon on this project. Internal view up shaft riser. In this application horizontal Speedpanel was used, without any additional structure, enabling continuous construction from floor to ceiling over 30 metres. Various duct penetrations through the Speedpanel shafts with sealed fire collars. Sealed joints on one external face eliminated the need for separate ductwork.

11 Melbourne Convention Centre (Multiplex) Speedpanel was used extensively throughout the entire complex and the adjoining Hilton Hotel. Throughout the main complex Speedpanel formed the rear auditorium walls and the main acoustic barriers in the roof beams. 12 Botany Cinema, Auckland (Alpha) This project involved the Speedwall N.Z company. Botany Town Centre shopping complex in Auckland was extended to incorporate a 10-cinema facility. Speedpanel was used for high acoustic dampening performance throughout the complex.

13 Melbourne University Commerce Building (Probuild) Melbourne University used Speedpanel for all non load-bearing fire and acoustic walls in the entire project, demonstrating the versatility of Speedpanel in all types of applications.

14 Commonwealth Bank (Bovis Lend Lease) Temporary acoustic & security walling was erected for six months enabling renovations on the building to take place while the branch continued normal trading. Wall height is over 13 metres. The walls have since been removed and re used in other areas of this projects.

15 Southern Cross Redevelopment (Multiplex) Two 37 level office complexes in the Melbourne CBD. Speedpanel was used for the plant rooms and shaft walls throughout the project. In addition to Speedpanel being used in fire rated areas, it also provided safety barriers for incomplete duct shafts during construction.

16 Metropolitan Apartments (John Hindmarsh) A four tower multi-storey residential and office complex (ACT) in which Speedpanel was used for all fire and acoustic aspects of the building including car park ventilation walls, apartment and corridor walls, shaft and fire escape walls.

17 The Oracle (Grocon) (Image right) New Acton Apartments (PBS) (Image far right) Mercy Apartments (Salta) (Image bottom left) Speedpanel s ease of installation not only helped builders save build time on the apartment and fire stair walls, but in doing so allowed other trades onto the site more quickly. This meant that overall project time savings were maximised.

18 M-Central & Marrickville Apartments, Sydney Award winning conversion of a warehouse to apartments in Sydney; Speedpanel was used in party walls for it s acoustic performance and light weight properties. The use of Speedpanel in residential projects reduces construction time as it is a dry wall system and can be easily installed in hard to access areas

19 Townhouse Use Speedpanel can be used for townhouse separation and boundary walls. Speedpanel can be installed horizontally and vertically next to existing walls. The use of Speedpanel in this type of application negated the need for strip footings and underpinning the adjacent building.

20 Nauru House & Roof Plant Rooms Major works to the lift overruns on top of this 51 storey landmark Melbourne building. Speedpanel s ability to be manually carried up four flights of stairs made it ideal for this type of application.

21 Noise Barriers Speedpanel has been used on several noise barriers due to its high acoustic properties and ease of installation.

22 Whitten Oval (Contract Control) St James Primary School, Frankston (Contract Control) Speedpanel has been used on several basketball stadiums and gymnasiums due to its lightweight properties and ease of installation. The used of Speedpanel on both the Whitten Oval redevelopment and St James Primary School, Frankston gave the builder savings on the concrete footings, structural steel and time of installation.

23 General Factory Projects Fire rated factory separation and boundary walls, Speedpanel installed vertically and horizontally.

24 Hampton BP & External Walls Speedpanel is often chosen for its ability to meet fire rating requirements on boundary walls and its re-useability. Speedpanel was manufactured with an external coloured finish for these projects.

25 Speedpanel Other Uses Speedpanel can be used in a variety of applications eg. curved hoarding at Doncaster Shoppingtown, acoustic nightclub ceiling, gymnasium external walls.

26 General Testing and Product Photos The images above are of four hour fire tests, taken from the fire side after removal from furnace. The tests were of; doors in panels, vertical and horizontal panels. Main image top left is the non-furnace side of the wall over four hours into the fire test.
