1 ADDENDUM NUMBER 1 Date: June 28, 2016 Project: Project Location: Commission No: Planters Woods Apartments South Hill, Virginia 1510 This Addendum, in its entirety shall become part of the record set of construction documents (project description, specifications, and/or drawings). All items are indicated by the corresponding portion of the construction documents. Please provide a copy of this addendum to all pertinent contractors to which the items apply. Any questions or clarifications regarding these items shall be directed to the Architect. The following items shall be included within this Addendum. PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1. No items. SPECIFICATIONS 1. SECTION SIDING a. Fiber-Cement Siding shall be pre-finished. The color shall be as selected by the Architect. 2. SECTION HOLLOW METAL DOORS AND FRAMES a. Exterior doors shall be Level 2 and Physical Performance Level B (Heavy Duty) 3. SECTION FIBERGLASS DOORS a. Wood frames for fiberglass doors at the apartment entry shall include integral FrameSavers. b. Fiberglass doors shall have R-6.25 thermal resistance. CIVIL 1. Provide and install a pre-fabricated storage shed approximately 10ft x 10ft over wood framed floor. 2. Provide and install a new bike rack. Coordinate bike rack location with Civil drawings. 3. Provide and install new mailboxes in the existing location on the new accessible route. Mailboxes should include minimum 47 tenant boxes and 5 parcel boxes. Mailboxes shall comply with relevant accessibility standards.

2 4. Replace the concrete pad under the new mechanical condensers with new concrete pad at 8 locations. 5. Provide 4 concrete-filled metal pipe bollards at each of the dumpster locations. 6. Provide site signage at dumpster locations to identify the accessible dumpster. 7. Seal and stripe asphalt surface after completion of asphalt repairs. 8. Label all storm drains/ inlets per Earthcraft worksheet. ARCHITECTURAL 1. Stairs in 2-bedroom apartments shall include vinyl stair treads and risers. 2. Apartment unit numbers shall be included at every apartment entry adjacent to the entry door, below the apartment entry lighting fixture. Apartment lettering shall be 4 raised letters mounted on PVC or FCB of a contrasting color. Unit numbers shall be coordinated with the Owner and Locality prior to installation. PLUMBING 1. Include pipe insulation for the first 2ft at all water heater locations per Earthcraft worksheet. 2. Include set up for water drainage out the back wall of unit for future dehumidifier in the mechanical closet in all apartment units (dehumidification unit is not part of the scope of this project). MECHANICAL 1. No items. ELECTRICAL 1. Switch bathroom exhaust fan and bathroom light fixture together in all apartment units. 2. Provide Alternate to include replacement of cable/phone wires in apartment units. 3. Replace all switches, receptacles, and cover plates in all apartments. 4. Provide an outlet in mechanical closet in all apartment units specifically for the installation of a future dehumidifier (dehumidification unit is not part of the scope of this project). 5. Provide new light fixture over roll-in shower in H/C apartment units. Refer to the attached cut sheets for light fixture. 6. Provide Energy Star lighting throughout all apartment units and at apartment front and rear entries per Earthcraft requirements. Reference the attached lighting cut sheets for fixture selections and for basis of design. Substitutions shall be reviewed per specification section Provide the following items in sight and hearing impaired units (refer to sheet A401): Audio/visual fire alarm notification device Lit switches Doorbell with audio/visual in living area Fire alarm strobes in all bathrooms Talking thermostat END OF ADDENDUM
