1 For Our Representatives Clarification of Jeremias Products for Specific DWKL/SWKL PRODUCT LINE DWFL/SWFL PRODUCT LINE DWGV/SWGV PRODUCT LINE Some of you are confused with our product variations, and what to use in different circumstances. Since a lot of you use VentBOM, of course you want clarification in order to save time. So here is our guide- for ALL of the Product Lines. Our DWKL/SWKL is our original line designed to produce one (1) high quality model that is all-stainless and good for all applications in order to simplify all categories and guessing games. And we have done that with our DWKL, which can be used for almost any application. Our DWFL/SWFL is superior for larger diameter systems. This product line is a hybrid system which combines the best of the World Class DWKL features with the assembly ease and industrial strength of flanged Pressure Stack systems. The unique construction design incorporates a relaxed conical joint and includes a flange socket secured by a V-band mechanism which insures correct pressure tightness. The flange is mounted on the outside of the inner liner, so that the liner extends through the connection into the adjoining part, creating a smooth inner seal and preventing leakage. Our DWGV/SWGV is our economical Special Gas Vent. This Product line has been developed to serve the Condensing Boiler market (UL 1738) where ease of assembly, overall time invested, price, and delivery time are the main concerns. Please see the last page for completely different specifications, and a Matrix Table just for the GV Product Line Only. We make all of these variations so you get the best solution for each specific application at the best price. First, let s start with the variables: single wall, double wall, thickness of materials, and different insulations. Second, what governs their use? Specifications, temperature, and clearance to combustibles. Specifications determine all of the above. If the specs say the venting material must be thick, then it must be. If the specs state double wall, it must be. If the specs say that the venting must be listed for 1400 F, then it must be. If specs state that it must be zero clearance to combustibles, then it must be. If specs state that a certain steel must be used, then we must use a steel that is equal to or better. Temperature of the exhaust is a huge consideration. We use two different types of insulations; ceramic fiber wool blanket insulation and cut mineral fiber insulation. Our compressed ceramic fiber wool blanket (technically, it is minimum 1½ ceramic fiber wool blanket compressed into a 1¼ space) which is utilized in our DWKL to obtain our highest temperature listings- UL-103 Type HT, UL F Chimney (1400 F Continuous, 1800 F Intermittent), UL-1978 Grease Duct, (500 F Continuous, 2000 F for 30 min.). Our 1¼ thick cut mineral fiber, for 1200 F max. applications, is lightweight and firm and provides excellent support for the inner liner of the DWKL-Vt and DWKL-Rx. This creates a solid feel and an easier installation. Most of our projects are for applications that are less than 1000 F, and this is a major portion of our business. Thickness of our steels is also an important consideration in choosing a product.

2 Our main product, DWKL, has a standard of thick 444 stainless steel inner liner and stainless steel outer jacket. However, the larger diameters, 26-36, require us to use thick stainless on the outer jackets. The SWKL has the same thick 444 stainless steel. DWKL and SWKL are available in diameters of 5-36 I.D. The DWKL-Vt and DWKL-Lt both have thick 444 stainless steel inner, and 0 outer, for diameters of Larger diameters above 18 require us to use the thick inner to maintain stability, so after 18 Ø, the Vt becomes Rx, and the Lt becomes DWKL. There is no problem with installation- the inner and inner accept each other beautifully. Also to be clear, the only difference between the -Vt and the -Lt products are the insulations- the Vt uses cut mineral fiber, and the Lt uses ceramic fiber wool blanket. The SWKL-Vt and Lt are identical in every respect. The SWKL-Vt and Lt are only available in 3-18 diameters. After that, all Single Wall is SWKL. The DWFL and SWFL were initially designed specifically for larger diameters above 18. We use the thick inner to maintain stability, and offer a variety of thicknesses of ceramic fiber wool blanket insulation. Clearance to combustibles is a major concern for safety, and helps clarify your choices of a venting product. Clearance to combustibles is very clearly stated on our charts found in the installation instructions. The thicker the insulation, the better clearance to combustibles. Naturally, clearance to combustibles is controlled by flue gas temperature. But a few simple key facts will help steer you to the correct material to use in your application. If you are venting very high temperature exhaust, as commonly found in generator exhaust, grease duct, kitchen exhaust, pizza ovens, coffee roasters, or high temp chimneys over 1200 F, you need to use the insulation that matches the job- our ceramic fiber wool blanket. Then see the table on clearances to combustibles for the specific application. If you are venting a boiler, take special note of your flue gas temperature. About 90% of boilers are about 400 F or less. With our unique Jeremias design, if you are venting a boiler vertically with 400 F or less flue gas temp, you have zero clearance to combustibles with our DWKL-Vt. That makes our Vt the most common choice for venting boilers. You don t need a roof thimble, and the Vt is the lightest and easiest to install. Even if your temperature is a little higher, you still will have the best solution to boiler venting with Vt. But if your specifications say that the inner liner needs to be thick, choose the DWKL-Rx model and still get the convenience, light weight and ease of cut mineral fiber insulation. If routing into a masonry chimney, use our single wall for your chimney liner. It adapts perfectly to the double wall because the inner liner is exactly the same as the single wall. See our special instructions for chimney lining. If you are venting a low temperature flue gas boiler that may even be good for PolyPropylene venting (up to 230 F), you can use our SWKL-Vt and still have zero clearance to combustibles! And since our SWKL-Vt is priced comparable to Polypropylene in 6-8 diameters, you can have the best stainless steel venting available for a price comparable to plastic. See the Matrix Tables on the next pages for a quick and easy solution for what to use.
