Keep the hardware bags and their contents separate. If any parts are missing, call our Customer Service Department. To ensure safety, do not attempt to assemble this shed without following the instructions carefully. Check entire box and inside all packing material for parts and/or additional instruction material. Before beginning assembly, read the instructions and identify parts using the hardware identifier and parts list in this document. Proper and complete assembly, use and supervision are essential for proper orientation and to reduce the risk of accident or injury. Do not store hot objects such as grills, blowtorches, welding equipment, etc. in the shed If using a ladder during assembly, use extreme caution. Two capable adults are required for shed assembly. (It is also recommended that a third adult function as an instruction reader.) Most injuries are caused by misuse and/or not following instructions. Use caution when using this shed.

3 HARDWARE IS NOT ACTUAL SIZE (Unless otherwise indicated) AA AE AF AG AJ AM AK AC AD Site Selection a. This extension kit adds another 30 to the length of your shed. Before beginning expansion of your shed be sure that your site can accommodate the new size. If you are Installing a New Shed 1. Check contents of boxes and compare to parts listed on the Parts List. 2. Follow instructions that came with your shed, but add extra floor panel, wall panels, Roof Cap and Skylight at appropriate points in the assembly. If you are Extending an Existing Shed 1. Remove any bolts used to anchor the shed. 2. Remove any objects from back shelves. 3. Remove any shelves, pegboards, or other objects hanging on the last two Side Wall Panels on either side. 4. Check contents of boxes and compare to parts listed on the Parts List. 5. Follow the steps in this manual. 6. If you are extending an 8 x 5 shed, you will need to modify the following instructions by not removing as many parts as shown in the illustrations. 3

4 Add Extension Kit to an Existing Shed **Save all hardware for re-assembly!** ATTENTION: If your existing shed is anchored to the ground, remove all anchoring hardware before following these steps. 1.1: Remove the four Lower Roof Panels and two Center Roof Caps that are highlighted below (if the existing Shed has Skylights, leave them attached to the Roof Caps). Be sure that there is nothing on the back shelves before moving the back section. Note: Your shed may be shorter than shown above. Skip the very back Roof Panels (slightly more narrow than the middle Roof Panels) and then remove the next two Roof Panels from each side of the shed (along with the connected Roof Caps). Repeat Steps 2.2 through 2.4 for both sides of the shed. 1.2: Remove all screws from the highlighted Wall Panel that connect it to adjoing Wall Panels and to the Wall Support. Remove this panel. Remove this panel. 4

5 1.3: Tip the Wall Panel inward. Note: To remove a Wall Panel, slide it to the left (when looking at it from inside the shed) until it lifts out. 1.4: Use a long fl at screwdriver to gently pry the bottom corner of the Wall Panel so that it has room to slide on the inside of other Wall Panels. Slide the Wall Panel to the left, and then remove the panel. Note: As you remove the Wall Panels, have one person support the Truss assembly so that it does not fall over. 5

6 1.5: Remove the Truss assembly and set it aside for later. 1.6: With at least on person on each side of the shed, tip the back section of the shed forward to about a 45 degree angle and slide the back section away from the shed.. One person should support the back wall while it is being tipped and moved. 6

7 1.7: Fit together the two Inner Floor Panel extensions (AJ). AJ AJ 1.8: Connect the Inner Floor Panel extensions (AJ) to the other Inner Floor Panels on the main section of the shed. 1.9: With at least on person on each side of the shed, tip the back section of the shed forward to about a 45 degree angle and slide it forward to re-connect it to the rest of the shed. 7

8 1.10: Fit two Truss Support Strips (AM) together. Bolt Truss Support Strips, Center Gutter Connector (FD) and two Gutter Channels (). Refer to the Owner s Manual that came with your shed when assembling other truss frames. FB FC AM AM 7/16 Wrench (2) FB FC Finger Tighten Hardware WARNING Do not overtighten the Cap Nut. If the end of the Bolt breaks through the plastic cap, call our Customer Service Department. AM 1.11: Attach a Gutter Channel (Truss Support Strips fi t inside Gutter Channel). Attach Truss Channel (AD) to Gutter Channel at each end. AM (x2) FC FB FC FD FB Tighten All Hardware 1.12: Attach Truss Assembly to two Wall Support Channels (AC). Do not completely tighten the Cap Nut (FC) until after truss is secured to the wall. FC Use Second Holes from the end. AC AC FB 8

9 SS 1.13: Replace the two Wall Panels that were previously removed. Add the two new Wall Panels that came with this kit. Screwdriver Note: As new panel slides into place be sure that screw bosses along the sides interlock properly with the adjoining Wall Panels Set Wall Panel Tabs into Floor Panel Slots. 2. Slide Wall Panel to the left until the Wall Panel locks into place. 3. Use a Rubber Mallet to nudge the panel into position. Be careful not to damage the edge of the wall panel : Replace the Truss assembly that was previously removed. Add the new Truss assembly from steps 1.10 to

10 Domed Skylight Assembly 1.15: Remove any excess plastic from the holes in the Roof Panel for Skylight (AE) by inserting a screwdriver through the each hole. Cut the Butyl Tape (TA) in half (about 6.25 ft). Lay the half-piece of Butyl Tape along the groove (grayed area) of the Roof Panel for Skylight with the sticky side down. Remove the paper backing from the top of the Butyl Tape. DA Screwdriver DB 3/8 Wrench DC Note: Remove any excess plastic from all holes. AE Top Exterior View 1.16: Remove the protective plastic fi lm from the Domed Skylight (AG). Position the Domed Skylight over the Roof Panel for Skylight so the angled edge is at the top, then place the Domed Skylight on the Roof Panel. Press down and verify there are no gaps between the Butyl Tape and the Domed Skylight. Top Top Angled Edge AG AG Straight Edge Note: The sticker indicates the top and exterior side of the Domed Skylight. Exterior View 1.17: Insert one (1) #10 x 5/8 Carriage Bolt (DA) through each hole in the Domed Skylight and through the Roof Panel for Skylight. Fasten on the Underside with a #10 Washer (DB) and #10 Cap Nut (DC). Top DA Repeat for the Second Domed Skylight and Panel. Exterior View 10

11 1.18: Replace the four Lower Roof Panels that were previously removed. Add the two new Lower Roof Panels for skylights that came with this kit. SS Screwdriver 1.19: Install both Center Roof Caps onto the shed. Attach Roof Cap (AA) to Truss on both sides with 1/4 x 5/8 Screws (SS). 1.20: Along the outside edges of the shed, Fasten the new Trusses to the underside of the new Roof Panels (Fig. 1). Cleaning and Care The polyethylene walls and shelves are stain- and solvent resistant. To clean, use a mild soap and a soft-bristled brush. Abrasive cleaning materials may scratch the plastic and are not recommended. Repair scratches or rust spots on the metal by Sanding the affected area lightly; using a rust preventative spray primer; and fi nally, spraying with a high-gloss spray enamel paint. 13 LIFETIME OUTDOOR SHED EQUIPMENT 10-YEAR LIMITED FACTORY WARRANTY THE MANUFACTURER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE SUBSTITUTIONS TO WARRANTY CLAIMS IF PARTS ARE UNAVAILLE OR OBSOLETE. 1. Lifetime outdoor sheds are warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of ten years from the date of original retail purchase. The word defects is defined as imperfections that impair the use of the product. Defects resulting from misuse, abuse or negligence will void this warranty. This warranty does not cover defects due to improper installation, alteration or accident. This warranty does not cover damage caused by vandalism, rusting, acts of nature or any other event beyond the control of the manufacturer. 2. This warranty is nontransferable and is expressly limited to the repair or replacement of defective product. If the product is defective within the terms of this warranty, Lifetime Products, Inc. will repair or replace defective parts at no cost to the purchaser. Shipping charges to and from the factory are not covered and are the responsibility of the purchaser. Labor charges and related expenses for removal, installation or replacement of the shed or its components are not covered under this warranty. 3. This warranty does not cover scratching or scuffing of the product that may result from normal usage. In addition, defects resulting from intentional damage, negligence, unreasonable use or hanging from the truss will void this warranty. 4. Liability for incidental or consequential damages is excluded to the extent permitted by law. While every attempt is made to embody the highest degree of safety in all equipment, freedom from injury cannot be guaranteed. The user assumes all risk of injury resulting from the use of this product. All merchandise is sold on this condition, and no representative of the company may waive or change this policy. 5. This product is not intended for institutional or commercial use; Lifetime Products, Inc. does not assume any liability for such use. Institutional or commercial use will void the warranty. 6. This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fi tness for use.
