1 130 Edition July 2015 Tile adhesive for non-vitrified tiles and vitrified tiles Fields of application For indoor and outdoor use. For walls and floors. For laying non-vitrified tiles, vitrified tiles and fully-vitrified tiles in a thin bed. On cement screeds, rough-ground anhydrite screeds, gypsum based floated screeds, renders, concrete, heated screeds, mastic asphalt (indoors only), plaster boards, gypsum fibre boards, plaster slabs and plaster. For laying ceramic coverings in areas exposed to permanent wetness such as swimming pools (indoors and out), health spas as well as in wet areas such as showers, toilets, bathrooms and cold storage rooms. For adhesive bed thickness from 1 to 5 mm. Reliable laying of tiles in a thin bed with PCI FT Klebemörtel. Features and benefits Non-sag properties, no need for spacers. The bedded tiles bond immediately, but can still be adjusted to the correct position. Good workability, therefore easy to apply. Resistant to frost and permanent water, multi-purpose use indoors and out, even in swimming pools and cold storage rooms. Good adhesion without pre-wetting and priming to concrete, cement screed and render. Meets the requirements of C2T in accordance with DIN EN (test report TU Munich). With official test certificates for potable water application in accordance with DVGW worksheet W 270 and W 347 (Hygiene Institute Gelsenkirchen). Test certificates are available under very low emission 1211,0767 PCI Augsburg GmbH Piccardstraße 11 D Augsburg 13 DE0012/02 PCI FT Klebemörtel (DE0012/02) EN 12004:2007+A1:2012 Improved cementitious adhesive with reduced slip for tiles for indoor and outdoor use EN C2T Reaction to fire Initial tensile adhesion strength after water immersion after heat ageing after freeze/thaw cycle Class A1/A1fl

Higher temperatures reduce, lower temperatures increase the times given. *** The required notch size and thus also the consumption of PCI FT Klebemörtel is, besides the tile format to be installed, also dependent on the back profile of the ceramic, the surface structure of the substrate and the application method. The data mentioned above are based on experienced figures and may deviate.

3 Preparation of substrate Minimum age of the substrate: - PCI Novoment Z1 and/or PCI Novoment M1 plus screed - 24 hours - PCI Novoment Z3 and/or PCI Novoment M1 plus screed - 3 days - cementitious screeds - 28 days - concrete - 6 months The substrate must be structurally sound, clean and able to bear weight. Remove oil stains, spills and residues which could impair adhesion very thoroughly. The substrate must be plumb and flush in accordance with DIN The plaster manufacturer must approve substrates to be plastered to be suitable for the laying of ceramic and for the intended use. Level substrate irregularities on walls with PCI Nanocret FC smoothing compound or PCI Nanocret R2 repair mortar. Level concrete floors with the self-levelling screed leveller PCI Periplan. Prime very absorbent cementitious substrates and aerated concrete with PCI Gisogrund, diluted 1 : 1 with water. Prime rough-ground anhydrite screeds, gypsum-based floated screeds, gypsum-based substrates and mastic asphalt screeds in the interior with undiluted PCI Gisogrund. Prime cementitious substrates and gypsum-based substrates with PCI Gisogrund Rapid if time is a factor. Allow primer to dry. Cementitious screeds must not have a residual moisture content above 4 %, anhydrite screeds and/or gypsum-based screeds not more than 0.5 % (measured with a CM meter). Application procedure Mixing of mortar Fill gauging water (see table Technical Data) in a clean mixing bucket, add powder and mix to a plastic, lumpfree consistency using a suitable paddle (e.g. from Collomix) attached to an electric drill. Laying tiles Apply a thin scratch coat to the substrate using the straight edge of the trowel. Comb mortar onto the fresh scratch coat using the notched edge of the trowel. Apply the adhesive bed in one direction if possible. Apply only as much mortar as can be covered with tiles within the open time (check open time by touching the mortar with your fingertip). Position and align the tiles and flagstones by slightly pressing them into the adhesive bed.

4 Grouting Rigid grouting Cementitious joint grouts/epoxy resin joint grout PCI Nanofug from 1 mm PCI Nanofug Premium 1 to 10 mm Non-vitrified tiles Vitrified tiles Fully-vitrified tiles Glass tiles/ glass mosaic PCI Rapidfug 1 to 10 mm PCI Flexfug 2 to 10 mm PCI Durafug NT 1 to 20 mm PCI Durapox NT / NT plus 1 to 20 mm (epoxy resin) somewhat coarse for glass tiles too coarse for glass tiles to be recommended suitable suitable to a limited extent Elastic joints Seal corner joints (floor/wall, wall/wall, wall/overhead) and connection joints (fixtures/tiles, wood/tiles) with the elastic sealant PCI Silcofug E or PCI Silcoferm S. Seal corner joints and connection joints in underwater areas with PCI Silcoferm VE. Please note Do not apply at temperatures below + 5 C and above +25 C and in strong wind and direct sunlight. As regards the possible deviations in length in the bonded system ceramic/thin-bed mortar/sloped screed on terraces and balconies, we recommend to blend PCI FT Klebemörtel with the flexible additive PCI Lastoflex. The open time is reduced in case of absorbent substrates (recommendation: priming with PCI Gisogrund). It is required to add PCI Lastoflex when laying glass mosaic and and porcelain mosaic. Lay translucent glass mosaic in permanently wet areas with PCI Durapox NT or PCI Durapox NT plus. Pre-fabricated concrete elements and green in-situ concrete can considerably shrink. PCI FT Klebemörtel must be blended with PCI Lastoflex or a dispersion adhesive (e.g. PCI Bicollit Light) must be used when laying tiles on such substrates. Do not use PCI FT Klebemörtel to level irregularities in the substrate beyond 5 mm. The German standard DIN applies to ceramic laid in a thin bed. Never add water or fresh mortar to reconstitute a mortar mix which has already begun to set. Tiling in swimming pools, in the exterior and on floors subject to heavy mechanical use must be carried out in the combined method (buttering-floating). Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the reverse side of tile and substrate and carefully press in the ceramic. This method is also suitable for varying tile thicknesses. After laying mosaic tiles it is required to remove the adhesive from the joints down to a uniform depth to ensure proper, stainfree grouting afterwards. This also applies to frontsided paper-faced mosaic. Suitable tools are available from e.g. Collomix GmbH, Horchstr. 2, Gaimersheim/Germany, Clean tools with water immediately after use; when the product has cured it can only be removed by mechanical scraping. Shelf life: min. 12 months; dry, no permanent storage over + 30 C.
