12 SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS When you choose Scranton Products sustainable materials for your restrooms, lockers and other applications, you are supporting a healthier environment. Scranton Products High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) reduces environmental impact and offers both initial and long-term improvements to the indoor air quality of your projects: Made from recycled materials 100% recyclable Contains % pre-consumer content GREEN-GUARD Children and Schools Certified SM No painting means no VOC emissions Improved air quality Impermeable to moisture Resists mold, mildew and fungus Resistant to bacteria Power-washable and steam cleanable No need for harmful chemical cleaners Decreased noise pollution Factory responsible recycling Incorporating Scranton Products HDPE sustainable materials can contribute points toward LEED certification.

13 Greenguard Certified Products The GREENGUARD Certification Program helps manufacturers create--and helps buyers identify--interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used. When you choose Scranton Products you are supporting a healthier environment and healthier kids, Greenguard Children and Schools certified, Scranton Products meet strict criteria for products intended for use in schools and other environments where children spend significant periods of time. In addition, because they never need painting, they do not contribute to VOC emissions, improving both indoor and outdoor air quality. They are also impermeable to moisture, resist mold and mildew, and can be power washed or steam cleaned, eliminating the need for harmful chemical cleaners. Incorporating Scranton Products can contribute to points toward LEED certification. Below are some facts about the program For products intended for use in schools, daycares or other environments where children spend significant periods of time, the GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification Program SM offers stricter certification criteria. It is referenced by both The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System. Products certified to this standard are also suitable for use in environments where children and others work, play or reside. Body Burden Correction Factor Children are more sensitive to environmental exposures than adults. Their bodies are still developing including their brains. They breathe faster than adults and in return receive a higher dose of indoor pollution per body weight. To account for inhalation exposure to young children, a body burden correction factor has been applied to the current GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified allowable levels. To achieve GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification, these lower allowable emissions criteria must be met along with additional chemical criteria as discussed below. Chronic Reference Exposure Levels (CRELs) The exposure to individual volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as detected in the C 6 - C 16 mass spectrometric analysis screen, has been adjusted to allow no greater than 1/100 of the currently published ACGIH Threshold Limit Values (TLVs) and no greater than one-half of the California's Chronic Reference Exposure Levels (CRELs). In many cases, the 1/100 safety factor reduction of TLVs results in the most stringent requirements for an extensive range of VOCs. A total VOC or TVOC maximum allowable limit takes into account the complex mixture of all VOCs found to be emitting from a product, including those with and without TLVs or CRELs. Limits on Phthalates Limits on emissions of total phthalates, consisting of dibutyl (DBP), diethylhexyl (DEHP), diethyl (DEP), dimethyl (DMP), butylbenzyl (BBP) and dioctyl (DOP) phthalates, have been added to the list of requirements for GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification. Results from recent research indicate that inhalation is an important route of exposure to phthalates and that these chemicals have been associated with endocrine disorders, reproductive and developmental disorders, asthma and allergies. Emission Controls for Educational and Healthcare Environments This standard is designed to define low-emitting materials suitable for environments where people, particularly children and sensitive adults, spend extended periods of time, in particular schools and healthcare facilities info@scrantonproducts.com

18 Hiny Hider Case Study CASE STUDY OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY In a sports stadium, there are fewer high-traffic areas than the restroom facilities. Oklahoma State University s historic stadium was built in 1913 so the restroom facilities had suffered a great deal of wear and tear from continued use over the years. So when the University planned to renovate and expand its stadium, it was an opportunity to upgrade the restrooms with new bathroom partitions that would add functional and aesthetic value, and endure the high volume of traffic. Oklahoma State University Hiny Hiders Bathroom Partitions Durability was of utmost importance when selecting a product for this application, said David Reed, Sparks Reed Architecture & Interiors, project architect for the OSU installation. But due to the nature of the application we also wanted a product that would be low maintenance, and resistant to abuse. It s common knowledge that public bathroom facilities, particularly the stalls, are subjected to vandalism including scratches and dents and graffiti from rival or rowdy fans. We did our research and specified Scranton Products Hiny Hiders for the application. Hiny Hiders are made from premium, American-made one-inch thick solid HDPE. The solid plastic partitions resist dents, scratches, corrosion, bacteria, graffiti, and mildew, and unlike traditional metal partitions, they ll never rust. With the number of partitions required in the installation it was a challenge to find the material that would last. Solid plastic will not break, and it never needs to be painted info@scrantonproducts.com

19 CASE STUDY Hiny Hiders are made from premium, American-made one-inch thick solid HDPE. The solid plastic partitions resist dents, scratches, corrosion, bacteria, graffiti, and mildew, and unlike traditional metal partitions, they ll never rust. With the number of partitions required in the installation it was a challenge to find the material that would last. Solid plastic will not break, and it never needs to be painted. Hiny Hiders are available in a multitude of colors and textures however Reed took advantage of the product s customization capabilities and specified the bathroom partitions be designed in the university s school colors. In addition, to make the application even more unique, the door of each stall is personalized with the OSU logo. More than 500 partitions were installed in the new stadium. Today, according to Donald Clark, facility manager, the Hiny Hiders partitions have Routing the logo into each door shows the proven to be lowmaintenance. Our metal workability of HDPE, said Reed. We were able to stalls rusted, needed provide the university and the fans with a painting and graffiti was unique custom product for the new often a problem. Since facility, said Reed. The color is bright the Hiny Hiders were orange and the logo supports college spirit and fan installed we ve had virtually no maintenance excitement. issues in any of the restroom stalls. The most we ve had to do is wash them down with a garden hose. As Hiny Hiders are made with HDPE, they ll have a long life cycle and be a cost-effective component to the new stadium. This is key in a stadium that has more than 40 restroom facilities. For OSU, such a large application, this is an enormous benefit. Since the 2009 installation, the Hiny Hiders have endured the cheers and jeers of sports fans. The bathroom partitions have really shown their durability while retaining their great looks, said Clark. Every hinge, every latch, every hanger works as well today as it did three years ago, he said. For Oklahoma State University, the plan to renovate the stadium was to transform a structure that was showing its age into a contemporary, state-of-theart facility. The goal was to create unrivaled facilities for football players and fans alike. Boone Pickens Stadium can now be considered one of America's top facilities from top to bottom.

117 Resistall Partitions RESISTALL PARTITIONS As durable as it is affordable Engineered plastic Innovative non porous panel design Easy installation Highly impact resistant

118 Resistall Case Study CASE STUDY MID-SOUTH ICE HOUSE INSTALLS PARTITIONS TO STAND UP TO HOCKEY, KIDS AND CROWDS With its humid subtropical climate and the lack of wintry conditions including snow, hockey would seem a remote interest for the nearly 700,000 residents of Memphis, Tennessee. However, deeply rooted in this Southeastern city, which ranks as the 20 th largest in the United States, is a profound interest in hockey that extends beyond the Memphis River Kings minor league ice hockey team to the many adult and junior leagues throughout the region. Mid-South Ice House Resistall Partitions Several years of planning and research went into the design and construction of this arena, says Keith Saunders Sr., owner of Division 10, Inc., a leading provider of construction specialty products and services throughout Tennessee, and the Southeastern region. I ve known one of the owners personally for 20 years and truly understood his desire to construct a state-of-the-art, professional skating experience for people who were already traveling to Little Rock or Nashville to improve their games and forms or just enjoy a skate anytime of year. Residents were delighted when their desire to spend more time on the ice was met in September 2011 when the Mid-South Ice House opened to provide the Memphis Metro area with a year-round opportunity to play hockey, figure skate, take lessons or just enjoy some leisurely ice time during the city s latest hot spell. Transformed from an empty warehouse to premier ice skating facility, the Ice House also features numerous activities such as curling and broomball for all ages info@scrantonproducts.com

119 CASE STUDY The Mid-South Ice House has continuous activity with minor league hockey, private leagues and the general public, so Saunders said the facility had to be built to last and take punishment on almost every level. We specified the strongest and most durable materials for use throughout the Ice House, explains Saunders. That particularly included the restrooms, where we installed Resistall Partitions from Scranton Products. We knew we needed long-lasting toughness and based on my prior experience with the product line, Resistall was the first and really only choice. A leading provider of unique and attractive interior partitions over the past 25 years, Scranton Products offers an assortment of HDPE products in variety of colors, textures and ADA-compliant configurations. In addition, the company s Resistall Partitions are especially designed to never need painting. Unlike metal partitions which We specified the strongest and most durable materials for use throughout the Ice House, explains Saunders. That particularly included the restrooms, where we installed Resistall Partitions from Scranton Products. are subject to rust, they offer superior resistance to dents, scratches, graffiti, corrosion, mildew and moisture. Another benefit is that they are very easy to clean and naturally resistant to bacteria. This arena is my passion, says Al Austen, co-owner of the Mid-South Ice House and a general contractor by trade. I spent years developing this project and was deeply involved in every aspect of its planning and construction. I m proud of what we accomplished and of the ability to provide our local Memphis residents with an ideal, year-round venue for participating in hockey, figure skating and all ice-related activities. Austen adds, We selected the partitions from Scranton Products because they fit into this overall vision. They are easy to maintain and extremely hard to dent as opposed to metal partitions. Plus, the pricing fit our budget and they do look good. The gray Resistall Partitions were used in 15 stalls and we haven t had a problem yet. In fact, I would be surprised if any arose since I installed several of them myself.

120 Resistall Sell Sheet Resistall Partitions Hybrid (Photo shown with optional additional continuous strikes) AS DURABLE AS IT IS AFFORDABLE Resistall Partitions are fully power washable and steam cleanable, eliminating the need for harmful chemical cleaners. Because they never need painting, Resistall Partitions deliver no VOC emissions and are GREENGUARD Children and Schools Certified. What s more, they resist bacteria, odors, moisture and mildew. NO MOLD GROWTH Unlike metal partitions which have a cardboard core, Resistall Partitions are impermeable to moisture and does not support the growth of mold and mildew. NO PAINTING Resistall Partitions are solid color throughout and will not chip so they never require painting. CLEANER, HEALTHIER BATHROOMS When moisture comes in contact with metal, rust begins to form, becoming a breeding ground for germs.

121 WE CALL IT RESISTALL FOR A REASON Hybrid Resistall Partitions stand tough over time with many features and benefits. Unlike metal partitions, they are impermeable to moisture and will never rust or need painting. In addition, Resistall Partitions will not delaminate and are built to resist mildew, odors, corrosion and dents, saving you the added costs of maintenance. 1 Paneled Design This unique aesthetic style on the doors and side panels deliver a premium look and feel. 2 Solid Pilasters Solid HDPE is used for the pilasters to ensure maximum strength at the anchoring points. 3 Orange Peel Texture Reduces signs of wear and deters scratches, keeping interiors looking great for years to come. 4 Worry Free Hardware To complement any interior, we offer an array of great-looking hardware options. It is run as both a school and community facility with more than 25 high school sports teams, 12 daily physical education classes and a semi-pro soccer team. In the past few months, the center has been renovating its locker room and restroom facilities, where the traditional metal was taking some abuse. Most of the center s public use is fee-based and is critical to the center s financial stability, though keeping costs low is also important to its community image. According to Dave Kimel, facility manager, the center has been slowly renovating a few rooms at a time, as funds have allowed. We shopped hard for our locker and restroom products, comparing quality, price and reputation for service and Scranton Products stood out above the rest, said Kimel. They were the most highly recommended by the best installation company we could find in the state of Vermont. Collins Perley Sports & Fitness Center Tufftec Hunter Green Lockers The center gets about 600,000 user visits to its facility each year, about 400,000 of which are unrelated to school functions. That's a lot of swinging and banging on toilet stall doors and slamming of locker room doors, said Kimel, so wear and tear is important. He said most of the old metal lockers still worked but they looked old and got absolutely no respect from the school kids. We had constant problems with scratching and graffiti, said Kimel. Since we put these new Tufftec lockers in we have not had a single incident of damage info@scrantonproducts.com

150 CASE STUDY Considering the traffic Collins Perley endures, the lockers and stalls needed to be high quality and extremely durable. One of the key reasons for choosing Scranton Products shower partition and locker products was the overall value, said Kimel. We're a public high school and money is tight but a good product is not the cheapest, it s the best value and performance over time, he said. The facility amenities also have to look great--the better they look the more memberships we'll sell and the more our kids will respect and take care of our facility. Kimel said another important feature for the locker rooms is sanitation, with one locker having three or four different users per day. In a public facility there is nothing more important that cleanliness, he explained. These HDPE lockers and partitions have no cracks, crevices, or edges to catch cleaning cloths or trap mold, mildew, and other bacteria and they re easy to clean. He also finds they pay off from a lifecycle perspective and after three years for some of the shower and locker products, they all look as good as the day they were installed. Every hinge, every latch, every These HDPE lockers and partitions hanger works as well today have no cracks, crevices, or edges to as it did three years ago, he said, so we ll continue catch cleaning cloths or trap mold, to have more installed. mildew, and other bacteria and He noted that back in the they re easy to clean, said Kimel. 80s, gang showers were fine for most high school gym classes. But with the multi-use facility, Kimel has seen that change with more demands for privacy. Scranton Products came up with a simple, clean, great looking, and inexpensive way to convert one side of our gang showers to individual showers at very low cost, he said. And my crew finds them very easy to clean." Along with serving as the home for numerous sports teams, the center has seen a significant increase in paid memberships over the past three years. We attribute that in large part to the way our locker rooms now look and feel; they are the customers' first and last impression of their visits here. According to Kimel, if you compare a sports and health facility to a house tour, the locker room is as important as a kitchen or bathroom--the two most important rooms when appraising value. I can get by with an older model treadmill but I better not have rusted lockers," he said.
