2 BENEFITS OF THE GABAG WHIRLBOX GABAG WHIRLBOXES are integral system solutions - every detail of installing of your whirlpool tub is carefully thought through, and compliance with the soundproofing requirements to standard SIA 181 is ensured. The GABAG WHIRLBOX is a stable tub substructure that is enclosed on all sides, with all-over soundproofing, vibration deadening and thermal insulation as well as integrated service openings for excellent access to the whirlpool mechanism. There is no need for additional building work or materials to be supplied by the customer or others. Customised manufacture allows maximum freedom for bathroom planning! 4 PLANNING AND WORKING WITH THE GABAG WHIRLBOX INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATION Flat, level supporting floor Installation heights The GABAG WHIRLBOX requires a flat, level base surface. Floors and walls must be level and clean all over (no projecting components). The height of the GABAG WHIRLBOX CANNOT be adjusted! For system-related reasons, whirlpool tubs have defined installation heights. The GABAG WHIRLBOX is positioned on flat cast-in-place concrete with a poured mortar bed (self-levelling), on an underfloor or a finished floor with the appropriate loading capacity. The minimum installation height of GABAG WHIRLBOXES depends on the specific tub type (depth). Rule of thumb: Outer tub depth + 20 cm = minimum installation height. Niche dimensions / space requirements The height for entering the tub can be lowered by placing it on cast-in-place concrete with a poured mortar bed, and/or by using steps*. Correct planning is the fundamental requirement for the installation of a whirlpool tub with the GABAG WHIRLBOX. Special attention must also be paid to the space requirements. The size of the niche or space required depends on the type of tub and the design of the whirl system. With placement on the base floor, a pedestal element is required in the front area to bridge the height difference with the supporting floor. GABAG WHIRLBOXES usually require an all-round supporting surface (ledge) of at least +5 cm, i.e. for a tub measuring 170x70 cm, the space requirement is 180x80 cm (guideline measurements). When drawing up the layout plan, please remember that it should be possible to access and open the inspection openings on the GABAG WHIRLBOX if necessary. The fronts of the GABAG WHIRLBOX are divided into predefined area segments and are ready for tiling. GABAG will always be glad to provide information and advice. 5 PLANNING PROCEDURE Check the installation requirements Ledge details / ledge width The installation requirements mentioned above must be checked out in advance. Please contact us at any time for detailed questions. We shall be glad to check feasibility for your specific installation situation. Depending on the installation situation with or without a tubfilling combination, a ledge width of at least +5 cm to +15 cm is available. We can offer wider ledges for an additional charge. GABAG can manufacture a WHIRLBOX for virtually any type of whirlpool tub. To show you your installation options, we need to see the installation situation (detailed plans with layout, floor structure, etc.) as well as a dimensional sketch of the whirlpool tub and information on the planned whirl mechanism (number and positioning of whirl components). under tub edge on / flush with tub edge Order / execution Production is based on the binding measurement information as entered on the GABAG measurement sheet*, which is sent to the responsible planning or architectural consultants for completion after receipt of the whirlpool tub, at the latest. (Information required as per checklist) over tub edge Special recesses for outflow pipe, water pipes and power lines can be integrated into the WHIRLBOX in our factory as required and specified, at no additional cost. Please note the box shapes for the corresponding tub shapes. Note: Oval tubs are manufactured as rectangular box shapes. Round box shapes are possible, but they require a correspondingly large number of narrow segments as well as a ledge, and are available for an additional charge. Delivery periods The whirlpool tubs are delivered to the GABAG factory (for dimensional checks, adjustments, etc.). Please note that the GABAG WHIRLBOX can only be produced once the tub and the necessary dimensional data have been received. 7 Checklist Data required for WHIRLBOX production. Layout and sectional plan of the installation situation desired installation height (Pay attention to GABAG's minimum design height: rule of thumb: tub depth + 20 cm) Precise niche dimensions Tile thickness with tile adhesive for WHIRLBOX ledge / front / wall / floor and tile format dimensions of outflow and PEX pipes, power lines and all other pipe ducts in the area of the whirlpool tub desired position of ventilation grille (dimensions: 20 x 25 cm) Method of filling the tub (overflow, tub filling combination on ledge, etc.)

8 INSTALLATION MADE EASY Dismantling the WHIRLBOX The GABAG WHIRLBOX is always delivered as a complete unit (adjusted to the required measurements). To make installation easier, dismantle the structure before removal. Open the inspection doors, release the fastening chains, carefully lift the segments out and take them individually to the installation location. Dismantle the front section of the WHIRLBOX by slackening the red screws on the vertical profiles, on the left/right of the horizontal profile, and on the ledge and tub edge supports in the front (as applicable) Pull the box front forwards and away from the rest of the structure, and remove it. Carefully lift the whirlpool tub and pull it forwards and out. Please be careful with the tub whirl mechanism. The GABAG WHIRLBOX is in two sections that can be separated. Slacken the green screws on the base, on the rear vertical profile and the ledge. 7 Separate the WHIRLBOX sections and transport the individual sections separately.

9 Installing the WHIRLBOX Check the installation situation: Is the floor level? Are the recesses for the GABAG WHIRLBOX in the right position? Is the installation location clean? Place the black soundproofing mat on the floor, so that it covers the entire area. Move the first section of the GABAG WHIRL- BOX into the desired position. The WHIRLBOX must fit neatly into the corner. Pull the outflow / PEX pipes and power cables through, where necessary. Place the second section of the GABAG WHIRLBOX on the first section and fix it with the green screws (same position as for dismantling). Pull the outflow / PEX pipes and power cables through, where necessary Carefully place the whirlpool tub in the WHIRLBOX again, from the front. The feet of the whirlpool tub must be in the foot positions. The tub can already be connected. Install the front of the WHIRLBOX with the red screws (same procedure as for dismantling). Insert the inspection doors and fix them with the fastening chains. Position the ventilation grille (supplied with the product) in the recess provided for this purpose. GABAG Hydrophone early warning system Please check that the GABAG Hydrophone has been connected to a separate power line (Do not connect it to the whirl system electronics!) Carefully cut through the blue cable fixture. Do not damage the blue cable itself! Connect both cable ends together (listen for the CLICK sound). Test correct functioning by wetting your finger and inserting it into the recesses. If a whistling signal is heard, the system is fully functional.
