2 April 16, 2018 FRESNO CHAFFEE ZOO WARTHOG EXHIBIT 894 West Belmont Avenue Fresno, CA Architect Project Number: 1616 FCZ Project Number: 0192 To: Prospective Bidders ADDENDUM NO. 2 The following changes, omissions, additions, and alterations in, on, and to, the Contract Documents dated March 19, 2018 will apply to proposals made for the execution of the various parts of the work affected thereby. Careful note of this Addendum shall be taken by all parties of interest so that the proper allowance may be made in all computations, estimates, and contracts, and all trades affected shall be fully advised in the performance of the work which will be required by them. In cases of conflict between Drawings, Specifications, and this Addendum, this Addendum shall govern. Attention is directed to the Addendum receipt blank in the Form of Proposal. SECTION 1 BID INFORMATION: ITEM 2-1: Regarding the response to 1-14 in Addendum No. 1, #1 regarding the 8 to 10 pathway. There are two locations along the pathway where it chokes down between 10 and 12. We are just letting you know that the 8 to 10 will not be possible at these locations. The pathway with the space needed for forming and temporary fencing will be between 4 and 6 at these locations. If this is not acceptable please provide a detailed exhibit showing a solution. We will need to keep a minimum of 6-0 wide pathway. J:\TAMPROJ\2016\1616\3-Bid Phase\Addenda\Addendum 2_ \DOCX\ Addendum 2_ docx April 16, 2018 Page 1 of 9

2 ADDENDUM No. 2 Continued ITEM 2-2: Regarding the response to item 1-15 in Addendum No. 1, the question was not answered. We understand that this work will be phased but the question is asking if we can we use regular temp fence (6 tall) since the public will be separated roughly 6 from the lion exhibit existing wood fence? See attached illustration). Use regular temporary fencing with no screen on it. The contractor and/or subcontractors need to coordinate with the project manage during construction. Each side is not to be tied up more than 2 days per phase. J:\TAMPROJ\2016\1616\3-Bid Phase\Addenda\Addendum 2_ \DOCX\ Addendum 2_ docx April 16, 2018 Page 2 of 9

2 ADDENDUM No. 2 Continued ITEM 2-3: Regarding the response to item 1-23 in Addendum No. 1, please provide an approximate location or distance to where the trees will be staged for the Zoo to take ownership. Our subs will need this to determine labor needed assuming the location will be near our site. Locate approximately east southeast of exhibit (bottom right of exhibit) outside of exhibit. ITEM 2-4: Regarding the response to item 1-27 in Addendum No. 1, since the As-Built plans for this site are not being provided to bidders, we need an approximate location and depth of the tie in point so we can determine how much street will need to be removed and how wide the trench will need to be for bidding purposes. See attached site utility plan. Existing water main is about 10-0 below grade. J:\TAMPROJ\2016\1616\3-Bid Phase\Addenda\Addendum 2_ \DOCX\ Addendum 2_ docx April 16, 2018 Page 3 of 9

2 ADDENDUM No. 2 Continued ITEM 2-5: Similar to the water line question, we will need the approximate location and depth of tiein point for the sewer lines? See attached site utility plan. The utility line is down about ITEM 2-6: Regarding the response to item 1-29 in Addendum No. 1, are you stating that PG&E has no scope of work for this project? Typically the GC will excavate a trench for PG&E to furnish & install the new gas service. Once PG&E is complete, the GC will backfill, compact and patch this trench. Please confirm. On a typical commercial project that would be correct. On this site once the gas line extends past the site master meter then the gas line and regulators are the responsibility of the Zoo. Gas service for the Warthog Exhibit will be connected to the gas line in Delno Street. Provide regulator adjacent to building. This would should be done by the General Contractor. See attached site utility plan. J:\TAMPROJ\2016\1616\3-Bid Phase\Addenda\Addendum 2_ \DOCX\ Addendum 2_ docx April 16, 2018 Page 4 of 9

2 ADDENDUM No. 2 Continued ITEM 2-7: Regarding the response to item 1-38 in Addendum No. 1, Cost of Wisconsin has told us that they do not provide this footing in their proposal and it will need to be provided by the zoo contractor. Please provide revised detail for this or clarify with COW that they should include in their SOW. See detail 1/EX-4.1 from Cost of Wisconsin drawings. 6 2 ADDENDUM No. 2 Continued ITEM 2-8: Please provide a narrative of Changes for the Structural plans with Clouds per standard practice so we know what changed, for drawings S1 S7. See attached sheets with clouds on them. Generally the Warthog building got wider and the ceiling framing plan changed. ITEM 2-9: The drawing showing the existing Irrigation Controller Tie-In point shows the Controller behind the Meerkat Exhibit. Assuming we can t go thru the Meerkat Exhibit or under the lion area that leaves the option of trenching thru Delno Street or Saw-cutting and Patching the Existing Colored Flatwork pathway around and in front of the Meerkat Exhibit. Please provide direction of which way the owner wants us to bid this. System is two wire. Control with the mainline. No trenching to controller is necessary. Splice new valves with mapped solenoids to the existing conductors and update control program. ITEM 2-10: Regarding the response to item 1-30 of Addendum 1, if Sheet L7.0 available for this project, then the detail callouts for materials on Sheets L1.1 and L4.1 need to be revised. Please clarify. Callouts referencing L7.0 should be L7.1. ITEM 2-11: Sheet D1.1 was included in Addendum No.1. On this sheet, it calls for the existing DG to be removed and stockpiled. Please confirm where this location will be so we can accurately provide equipment and materials for transport. Stock pile shall be located near the office. 7 2 ADDENDUM No. 2 Continued ITEM 2-12: Regarding the response to item 1-33 in Addendum No. 1, there was not a revised Bid Form (Attachment A) included with the Addenda. In addition, the Bid Form being provided on the Zoo s Website is inaccurate and needs to be revised. Please provide an up to date Bid Form for all bidders to use. See attached revised document. ITEM 2-13: There are two Stable Shades to install on over Yard 7 & Yard 8. Please provide a specification for this material. 55% black woven 100% UV stabilized polypropylene shade cloth. Provide #4 brass grommets at 2-0 o.c. and at all connection points. Provide double stitched 2-3/4" reinforcement tape (seat-belt like material) entire perimeter of shade cloth and at each support point. Field verify all dimensions and provide shop drawings prior to fabrication for review and comments. ITEM 2-14: CMU Block: What is the required finish for this block, smooth or split-face? What color is the block supposed to be Natural Grey or Tan? CMU block assembly shall match adjacent lion holding facilities. 8 2 ADDENDUM No. 2 Continued ITEM 2-15: PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED W/O RESPONSE: On sheet E1 (Electrical Site Plan) note #16 is confusing. We read the note as saying that (2) 2 conduits are existing but we need to add an additional (2) 2 conduits for power and communications. Please confirm that this is correct, as this will require removal and replacement of asphalt across this drive aisle. The Two 2 C across the road are existing. The term EXTEND refers to cutting the risers and providing addition conduit on the ends of the runs so one 2 C conduit goes to the new Data/Comm pull box and one 2 C goes to the new power pull box as shown. ITEM 2-16: PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED W/O RESPONSE: Please clarify what the existing section of Decomposed Granite and Base rock depth is so we can accurately determine quantities for removal. The soils report does not have any soil borings in these locations. Old information shows 3 of DG over 6 base. ITEM 2-17: What you are asking for in the blank space as shown here on Page 2 of the Bid Form: J:\TAMPROJ\2016\1616\3-Bid Phase\Addenda\Addendum 2_ \DOCX\ Addendum 2_ docx April 16, 2018 Page 8 of 9

2 ADDENDUM No. 2 Continued Typically, the Bidder will include a Bid Bond, Cert Check or Personal Check in the amount of 5% - and circle which form of payment has been included. Are you wanting us to include a value here? Yes.
