2 Sealing Tape To seal -cut tiles, we provide an aluminum foil adhesive tape. It has good adhesion on the tile and eliminates fibre emission and dust which is essential in healthcare environments where particle emissions must be avoided. It is quick and easy to use. The sealing tape is air-tight as well as abrasion and humidity resistant. It is 75mm wide and supplied in 50m rolls. 1. Cut 2. Measure edge+10mm & peel 3. Align 5mm overlap on front 4. Press 5. Flip tile to back 6. Peel 7. Fold up & press 8. Form-fold corner 9. Flip tile to front & finish

3 Hold Down Clips Keeping the ceiling tile secure in the grid system facilitates, among other things, mechanical cleaning/disinfection of the tile or stability in pressurised areas where airtightness is required. We recommend placing clips every 15mm from the corners, spacing additional clips evenly between them: 8 fiing points for mm tiles and 12 fiing points for mm tiles. There are two types of hold down clips available: 1. HDC1 2. HDC2 In combination with 38mm high Chicago Metallic grids, HDC1 is used for 20mm thick tiles and HDC 2 for 25mm thick tiles. These clips can be manually altered to function as a one side hold down clip. We recommend affiing cut tiles along the perimeter trim with an appropriate silicone sealant. *The airtightness of ROCKFON MediCare Air has been documented. 4 ROCKFON Air-tight inspection hatch We have developed an air-tight inspection hatch in which a ROCKFON ceiling tile (ROCKFON MediCare Plus / ROCKFON MediCare Air surface) is glued into the hatch for a more uniform ceiling surface and better acoustics. The hatch is made of galvanised steel, powder-coated white. It is fitted with 2 locking mechanisms and is suitable for Chicago Metallic T24 Click 2890 eposed grid, lay-in ceilings. It is available in mm. A polyester gasket seal ensures the airtightness between the hatch s frame and door. The frame of the hatch sits behind the T-grid. Although it is fairly light (5.25kg including tile), additional hangers on the grid may be necessary to improve stability depending on the installation system. The access hatch should be independently supported and braced to prevent the tile s additional weight, and operating forces eerted on it during installation and operation, being transferred to the lightweight ceiling system. If damaged, the ceiling tile can easily be replaced with a new tile by demounting the locks. Air-tightness of the inspection hatch in combination with ROCKFON MediCare Air is documented. The use of neoprene foam tape on the grid with a pre-applied gasket seal is recommended to improve the air-tightness performance of the entire ceiling / hatch system. A summary of these results is available upon request. For further information, please contact ROCKFON er service. Uniform ceiling surface and easy opening Easy access to services

6 Understanding the unique performance of ROCKFON stone wool products Below is an eplanation of ALL the performance icons and certification for our complete range of ROCKFON stone wool products. For product specific performance, please refer to the information on the individual product datasheet. Sound absorption Sound absorption is measured in accordance with ISO 354. Sound absorption data α p, α w and absorption class are calculated in accordance with ISO Sound absorption properties of islands and baffles are quantified by the equivalent sound absorption area A eq epressed as m² per item. Room-to-room sound insulation Room-to-room sound insulation D n,f,w (C;C tr ) is measured in accordance with ISO Direct sound insulation Sound reduction inde R w (C;C tr ) is measured in accordance with ISO Reaction to fire Reaction to fire is classified in accordance with EN Fire protection The stone wool core of ROCKFON products is non-combustible with a melting point of more than 1000 C and provides fire protection. Some ROCKFON ceilings have been tested and classified in accordance with European norm EN and/or national norms. Light reflection Light reflection epressed in % is measured in accordance with ISO Humidity & sag resistance ROCKFON ceiling tiles are dimensionally stable even at humidity levels of up to 100% relative humidity and can be installed at all temperatures ranging from 0 C to 40 C. They can be installed during the very early stage of the build (when windows are not fully sealed). Their lightweight yet stable non-hygroscopic character minimises the final weight of the fully-installed ceiling. ROCKFON ceiling tiles are predominantly classified as Class 1/C/0N in accordance with EN Certain module sizes (width above 700mm) are Class 2/C/0N. Surface durability The surface of some ROCKFON products is specially treated to provide enhanced durability and dirt resistance. Cleaning Vacuum: The surface can be vacuum cleaned with a soft brush attachment. Damp cloth: The surface can be cleaned using a damp cloth or sponge with a slightly alkaline detergent (ph between 7 and 9) without alcohol, ammonia or chlorine. This may render the surface slightly shinier, so we recommend cleaning the entire surface evenly. Hygiene Stone wool provides no sustenance to the following microorganisms tested in accordance with JIS Z 2801:2000 and ASTM C : Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Stachybotrys chartarum Penicillium brevicumpactum Alternaria tenuissima Aspergillus niger Sporobolomyces roseum Rhodotorula rubra Clean room Clean room classification is measured in accordance with ISO Thermal insulation The thermal conductivity of products with a thickness 30mm is measured in accordance with EN and epressed in mw/mk. Thermal resistance is epressed in m²k/w Subject to alterations in range and product technology without prior notice. ROCKFON accepts no responsibility for printing errors.
