Radiant PV-RoofTopRac System Planning and Installation With Australia AS/NZS1170.2:2011 AMDT The PV-RoofTopRac System has been developed as a universal system for roof-mounting on pitched roofs. This installation manual is specifically designed for tile, corrugated tin, trim dek, and klip lok style roofs. The use of patented (pending) aluminium base rails, Click-In Clamp and Base Rail Pre-Clamp technology eliminates custom cutting and enables particularly fast installation. Please review this manual thoroughly before installing your PV-RoofTopRac system. This manual provides: (1) Supporting documentation for building permit applications relating to PV-RoofTopRac Universal PV Module Mounting system, (2) Planning and installation instructions for RooftopRac. (3) And is also supported by engineering documents from Radiant 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 34x34.pdf 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 40x40.pdf Radiant Solar Racking is manufactured by Suzhou Radiant Technologies in China and distributed in Australia by Radiant Photovoltaic Technology Australia Pty Ltd. 2 Installation preparation Overview of system components Base Rail ( , or ) For Rooftop Rac Systems the Base Rail comes in two sizes; 34mm rail or 40mm rail. Both are certified to be used in application with mounting Radiant Solar Racking. The Base Rail is the primary piece to any system as all other components will assemble to it. Base Rail Splice ( , or ) Joins two rail using 6mm Allen key. Sits underneath the Base Rail. Screw both grub screws underneath Base Rail Splice to connect and earth the rails. Middle Clamp ( , through to ) Holds down the inner panels to the rail of any array. The Middle Clamp uses a spring to when pressed against the Base Rails top channel click into place. Middle Clamps are used between two panels. End Clamp ( , through to ) Holds down the outer panels to the rail of any array. The End Clamp like the Middle Clamp uses a spring to when pressed against the Base Rails top channel click into place. Above: Middle Clamp standing upright attached to rail Page 2 RooftopRac installation manual-version 1.6 (updated Jan 2015)

Earthing Clip ( ) U Shaped Clip that sits around the base of the Middle Clamp. When solar panel is fixed to rail the Earthing Clip pierces the solar panel to the anodized Base Rail ensuring that the system is earthed. Earthing Clip can slide with Middle Clamp as it has designed teeth that hold comfortable in the Base Rail top channel. Earthing Lug ( ) Earths the system to the ground conductor. The Earth Lug must be used at the end of each string of panels. Rail Cap ( ) Not a mandatory item. The rail cap simply closes off the Base Rail and leaves a pleasant look to the appearance of the Radiant Solar System. These come in two sizes depending if installing the Base Rail 34mm or Base Rail 40mm. Above: Rail Cap attached to Base Rail Page 3 RooftopRac installation manual-version 1.6 (updated Jan 2015)

Mounting Feet The above system components are all used in every Rooftop Rac system. The feet that connect the rail to the roof are dependent on the roof type. The rail clicks into the rail clamp. The rail clamp is attached to each foot type offered by Radiant and makes installation very easy. These are below. Adjustable Tile Roof Hook / Tile Roof ( , or ) Used for tile roofs. The Adjustable Tile Roof Hook allows the installer to make amendments in the positioning of the rail for the straightest alignment of solar panels on all tile roofs. Two roof screws are required for each Adjustable Tile Roof Hook. Note: spacing of feet is dependent on location of installation, & for screws required, please see dependent on rail size either : 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 34x34 or 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 40x40. Wave Support / Tin Leg ( , or ) Used for tin or corrugated roofs. The Wave Support sits comfortably over the corrugated wave of the roof and stands upright. EPDM rubber is already pre attached at the base which avoids any negative relations between roof metals to occur. The Wave Support can be adjusted vertically and horizontally by loosening the bolt and nut in the centre of the piece. One screw is required for each Wave Support. Note: spacing of feet is dependent on location of installation, & for screws required, please see dependent on rail size either: 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 34x34 or 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 40x40. Trim Dek Support / Trim Dek ( , or ) Used for trim dek or trapazoid roofs. The Trim Dek Support sits comfortably over the trapezoid profile of the roof and stands upright. EPDM rubber is already pre attached at the base which avoids any negative relations between roof metals to occur. The Trim Dek Support can be adjusted vertically and horizontally by loosening the bolt and nut in the centre of the piece. One screw is required for each Trim Dek Support. Note: spacing of feet is dependent on location of installation, & for screws required, please see dependent on rail size either: 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 34x34 or 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 40x40. Klip Lok Clamp 700, Klip Lok Clamp Lysaght 700, Klip Lok Clamp Lysaght 406 / Non Penetrating ( , or , or ) Must be physically tested on roof for installer to be sure of correct profile. Used for non-penetrating roof systems. The pre-assembled foot is already fitted with EPDM rubber and (on correct roof profile) will plug over klip lok lip and tighten by squeezing the roof sheet. Note: spacing of feet is dependent on location of installation and also dependent on rail size: 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 34x34 or 14S-391 TC2.5 Radiant Solar Panel RoofTopRac PV Certification - Base Rail 40x40. Klip Loks are all physically tested to NATA standards. Page 4 RooftopRac installation manual-version 1.6 (updated Jan 2015)

Installation Instructions Roof Hook Installation 1. Determine the positions of the roof hooks according to your plans. Remove the roof tiles at the marked positions or, if possible, simply lift them up slightly. 2. Fix the roof hooks to the rafter using at least x 80 mm timber screws. 3. The roof hook must not press against the roof tile. If necessary, shim the roof hook with the Radiant adjustment plate. 4. If necessary, use an angle grinder or hammer to cut a recess in the tile that covers the roof hook at the point where the roof hook comes through so that the tile lies flat on the surface. If grooved tiles are used, it will also be necessary to cut a recess in the lower tile. Page 6 RooftopRac installation manual-version 1.6 (updated Jan 2015)

5. Caution! Do not use fitted roof hooks as a ladder, as this extreme point load could damage the tile below and cause serious harm to the installer.. Tin, Trim Dek, or Klip Lok Installation 6. In the case of metal roofs use the specific Radiant footing (wave support, trim deck support, or klip lok in non-penetration). For Penetrating Tin or Trim Dek roofs Use one screw throught the set hole of the foot and drill through the roof cladding at the planned location and screw the screw into the purlins. Then mount the brackets on to the roof. For non-penetrating systems Plug the klip lok clamps over the roof profile and tighten the Allen Key bolt from the side. 7. For Penetrating Tin or Trim Dek roofs Ensure that the screw is fastened tight with the sealing washer. Pay attention not to damage the roof cladding. When performing the installation, take care that the thread of the wood screw does not cover the hole in the bracket. Base Rail Installation 8. Installing the rail to the feet: If your set of rails consists of rails of different lengths, always begin with the shortest piece. Install the framing for each row of modules loosely on the chosen Radiant foot, insert the base rail into the rail clip of the Radiant Foot, and fasten tightly using the nut. (Recommended torque is 18 Nm). Page 7 RooftopRac installation manual-version 1.6 (updated Jan 2015)

10. For Tile Roofs: An optimum adjustment of the vertical and horizontal position can be made by taking advantage of the long hole in the roof hooks and fasten tightly using the nut. (Recommended torque is 18 Nm). If using the tin or trim dek feet, adjustment can be made by loosening the middle bolt for both vertical and horizontal position. Klip Lok feet also have adjustment in the rail clips movement. Splice Installation 10. Install the splice to base rails to connect multiple rails together. Put the splice under the first rail halfway inserted, put second rail in to meet first rail halfway. Fasten both M10*12 Allen bolt firmly using the Allen key. PV Module Installation Page 8 RooftopRac installation manual-version 1.6 (updated Jan 2015)

11. Place the module end clamp into the rail by entering on an angle (hooking one side of the rail) and applying pressure. 12. Layout first panel against the first end clamp. Put module middle clamp (including earthing plate) into the rails, place it firmly against the module and fasten loosely (approx. 2-3 turns). Now inset the next module against the previously installed module and tighten the inter-module clamp using the Allen key. (Recommended torque is 15 Nm). 13. Put rail cap into the base rail, Continue mounting the modules as described in steps 11 to 12 until all modules are installed. The installation is finished!
