4 Contract C Freeway Bridge Overcrossing Caltrans contractor has begun concrete placement on the first LRT bridge structure deck. Caltrans contractor has completed the retaining wall along Commercial Street.

5 Civil Segment 2A Near 1st Street and Vignes Street Street restoration for Phase I of the LA City 1 st Street Bridge Widening Project has begun with the installation of temporary signals & street lighting.

6 West Portal Status 1st Street and Gless Street Excavation for the West Portal is nearing completion.

7 Boyle Heights/Mariachi Plaza Station Status 1st Street and Boyle Avenue Over 400 feet of the eastbound tunnel has been excavated. Preparations are underway to launch the second tunnel boring machine by the end of April 2006.

8 Soto Station Status 1st Street and Soto Street Station structure excavation has been completed. Placement of the station subinvert slab foundation is underway.

9 East Portal Status Near 1st Street and Lorena Street The construction of the LA County Crematorium retaining wall is complete. Street widening and construction of new curbs and sidewalks are underway.

10 L A County Crematorium Ad-Hoc Sub Committee Update Through the community Review Advisory Committee Ad-Hoc Sub Committee, Metro is working with the community to receive public feedback to develop a re-interment plan and to provide a respectful and fitting ceremony and memorial. The next meeting of the Ad-Hoc Sub Committee will be in Chinatown at the Castellar Elementary School, on April 27, 2006 at 6:30 pm. A Documentary Research Presentation will be made by the Project Archeologist. The final Archeological Report will be completed in May 2006.

11 Indiana Station Design Workshop Meeting Metro held a workshop to present the Options for the Indiana Station to the community on April 19, 2006, which included: Option 1A - Rebuild Ramona Opportunity High School Option 1B - Reconfigure Ramona Opportunity High School Option 2A - Relocate the Indiana Station to 3 rd Street (Dual Tracks Alignment) Option 2B - Relocate the Indiana Station to 3 rd Street (Single Track Alignment) The Federal Transit Administration is reviewing the Draft Environmental Assessment/Addendum for the proposed Environmental Assessment/Addendum for the proposed Relocation of the Indiana Station to 3 rd Street.
