Submit a separate Fire Protection Permit Application for review and separate permit issuance. Please be aware that fire protection permit applications must be approved prior to the scheduling of the Above Ceiling inspection (commercial) or Rough Framing (residential). Failure to have received this approval will result in the immediate cancellation of this inspection until approval is granted. Single Family Residence Addition Exception: Additions to single family residences that are not equipped with fire protection are not required to be sprinklered. Check this box if this is for an addition to a single family residence that does not have a fire protection system (fire sprinklers). Proposed Alteration Plan With the altering of the structure as shown above, this is now an alteration permit! Notes for kitchen remodeling permits: 1. Smoke & carbon monoxide (CO) detectors required thruout residence (battery operated acceptable where no work occurs). Smoke detectors are required in every bedroom, outside every bedroom, on each level, and at each heating unit. CO detectors are required on each level & outside all bedrooms. 2. 's outlets required at all kitchen counter locations. 3. If wall surfaces are removed, insulation must fill the cavity & 1/2" (min.) drywall req'd. 4. Cabinet lighting (inside, under or over cabinets) must be by a product specifically listed for that purpose way switching is required where there are multiple doorways in a room (only when/if wall/ceiling surfaces are being removed). 6. If there is an existing fire protection sprinkler system and there is any modification of that system, a separate permit application must be submitted to the Fire Department for review/issuance.
