2 0 0 R w db mins is a speciaist non-oadbearing Gypframe meta stud interna wa system for use in housing. This versatie system incorporates Gyproc SoundBoc RPID inings, which provide acoustic soutions to compy with Buiding Reguations pproved Document E, and aso provide fire and impact resistance. The system is quick to buid, timber-free, and provides pre-finished service cut-outs. There are two buid options 0mm stud framing without noggings, and 900mm stud framing with horizonta noggings. Gypframe coustuds are friction-fitted verticay at either 0mm or 900mm centres (ony use Gypframe S 0 coustuds at 900mm centres) within the channe sections to form the framework. This aows for adjustment during boarding. Studs are fitted so as to a face the same way. Services Eectrica and other services are normay instaed after one side is boarded. Horizonta runs are routed through cut-outs in the studs. Gypframe 99 FC 0 Fixing Channe can be instaed between studs to support recessed switch boxes / socket outets. With S 0 stud framing at 900mm centres, mid-height noggings are ocated between studs. dditiona framing is instaed as required to support heavy fixtures. Gyproc SoundBoc RPID boards are screw-fixed at 00mm centres to a framing members to form the ining. Openings To satisfy a Medium Duty rating, Gypframe coustuds are seeved with a Gypframe channe to fu height either side of the door opening or, aternativey, a timber ground is fitted. 7 Design Panning - key factors The position of services shoud be pre-determined and their instaation panned into the frame erection stage. Partition to structura steework junctions When designing the ayout of rooms requiring separation by sound insuating was abutting structura steework, consideration shoud be given to the potentia oss of sound insuation performance through the steework. Refer to section.. Principes of buiding acoustics. Cavity fire barriers Gyproc SoundBoc RPID screw-fixed into the web of perimeter channes or vertica studs wi provide a satisfactory cosure to fame and smoke. Refer to section 0 Cavity fire barriers. Board finishing Refer to section Finishing systems and decorative effects. NB In intermittenty damp use areas, such as around baths and shower cubices, Gyproc SoundBoc RPID MR shoud be used in accordance with NHBC recommendations. Two coats of Gyproc Drywa Seaer appied to the face of standard grade pasterboards, with the edges adequatey protected from moisture may aso be suitabe to receive a tie finish. The appication of Gyproc Drywa Seaer provides surface water absorption resistance ony, and does not meet the performance requirements for moisture resistant grade boards as defined in BS EN 0, type H. The cut-outs in the studs can be used for routing eectrica and other sma services (see GypWa CLSSIC Construction detais ). Switch boxes and socket outets can be supported from Gypframe 99 FC 0 Fixing Channe fixed horizontay between studs, or a high performance socket box detai where higher acoustic performance is required. Where Gypframe coustuds are used, services are routed through 0mm x mm H shaped push-outs, at the same centres as shown in GypWa CLSSIC Construction detais a for conventiona cut-outs. Cabes shoud be protected by conduit, or other suitabe precautions taken to prevent abrasion when they pass through the meta frame. Heating pipes Where heating pipes, particuary micro-bore systems, are to be ocated within the partition, it is recommended that ony one pipe is passed through each aperture in the meta framework. If this cannot be accommodated for whatever reason, it may then be necessary to incorporate proprietary pipe restraining cips or other means of keeping the pipes apart to prevent vibration noise. Ducts Where a arge number of eectrica cabes or pipes have to be accommodated, a service duct can be created by cosing up the stud centres to 0mm and omitting the intermediate nogging. Eectrica cabes shoud be attached using an appropriate cabe retaining device in order to satisfy the requirements of BS. Fixtures Lightweight fixtures can be made directy to the partition inings. Medium weight fixtures can be made to Gypframe 99 FC 0 Fixing Channe. Heavyweight fixtures (to BS ), such as wash basins and wa cupboards, can be fixed using Gypframe 0 FC 90 Fixing Channe.
