To revise the Compliance section to clarify the requirements. To revise the Material section to add part numbers. To revise the Accomplishment Instructions to clarify what actions are required. Miscellaneous changes as required. REQUIRED ACTION Please replace any copy of SEB85-7 Revision 2 with the attached copy of SEB85-7 Revision 3 which is printed in its entirety. NOTE: If the elevator and the trim tab have both been replaced with parts without foam, this inspection is complete. 4 COMPLIANCE Mandatory: Shall be accomplished during the next scheduled inspection, not to exceed the next 100 hour or annual / 12 month inspection, whichever occurs first. NOTE: If the elevator and the trim tab have both been replaced with parts without foam, this inspection is complete. Repetitive Inspection: Mandatory: For airplanes with foam-filled elevator tab and/or foam-filled elevator trailing edge installed, inspection of the foam-filled part shall be accomplished at every 100 hour or annual / 12 month inspection after the initial inspection has been performed. Rebalance of the elevator shall be accomplished every 60 months. APPROVAL Cessna received FAA approval for the technical data in this publication that changes the airplane type design. Cessna received EASA approval for the technical data in this publication that changes the airplane type design. MAN-HOURS Negligible when accomplished during routine inspection periods. MATERIAL The parts below are available from Cessna Service Parts and Programs through an appropriate Cessna Service Facility. NOTE: All parts listed below are non-foam filled. Do a visual inspection as follows: A. Do a visual inspection of the elevator trim tab for corrosion, cracks, and security. Make sure that you look carefully for indications of internal corrosion (pin holes, discoloration, cracks). If there is SEB85-7 Revision 3 Page 2 June 25, 2013

5 evidence of internal skin to foam separation, soft spots, paint blisters, unsealed edges of exposed foam, deterioration of foam, or corrosion, you must replace the assembly. (1) If you must replace the trim tab assembly, replace it with a tab that is not foam filled. (2) if you must replace the trim tab assembly, refer to the Material section of this Service Bulletin for the part number, and refer to the applicable airplane Service Manual for replacement instructions. B. Do a visual inspection of the attachment of the trim tab bracket to the trim tab. Make sure that the rivets that attach the trim tab bracket to the trim tab are secure. C. Do a visual inspection of the trailing edges of the elevator for indications of internal corrosion damage or separation of the foam core from the skin. Make sure that you look carefully for indications of internal corrosion (pin holes, discoloration, cracks). If there is evidence of internal skin to foam separation, soft spots, paint blisters, unsealed edges of exposed foam, deterioration of foam, or corrosion, you must replace the trailing edge. (1) If you must replace the trailing edge assembly, replace it with a trailing edge that is not foam filled. (2) If you must replace the trailing edge assembly, refer to the Material section of this Service Bulletin for the part number, and refer to the applicable airplane Service Manual for replacement instructions. D. With a flat-bladed screwdriver, do a check for security at each rivet that attaches the actuator bracket to the trim tab as follows: (1) Put the flat edge of the screwdriver blade against the junction point of each rivet head and the skin surface. (2) With the palm of your hand, lightly tap the handle end of the screwdriver. (3) If there is any movement of one or more of the rivets, the structure has been compromised, and you must replace the trim tab. (4) Now put the flat edge of the screwdriver blade against the junction point of the bucked side of each rivet and the skin surface. (5) With the palm of your hand, lightly tap the handle end of the screwdriver. (6) If there is any movement of one or more of the rivets, the structure has been compromised, and you must replace the trim tab. 2. Rebalance the elevator in accordance with the applicable airplane Service Manual. 3. Make appropriate airplane logbook entries stating compliance and method of compliance with this Service Bulletin. 11 Owner Advisory June 25, 2013 SEB85-7AR3 Dear 210, 210A, T210, P210, P206, U206, and 207 Owners: This Owner Advisory is to inform you that SEB85-7 Revision 3 Elevator and Trim Tab Inspection has been issued. SEB85-7 Revision 3 requires that special attention be given to the area of the elevator trailing edge and trim tab when inspecting the assemblies in accordance with the applicable airplane Service manual. COMPLIANCE Compliance is Mandatory: Shall be accomplished during the next scheduled inspection, not to exceed the next 100 hour or annual / 12 month inspection, whichever occurs first.
