Date Through: December 15, December 31, 2015 Site Location: Prepared By: Marguerite Parkway Mission Viejo, CA Thomas Bekele, Kitchell CEM tbekele@kitchell.com (714) Bi-Weekly Report Number: 049 Date Prepared January 04, 2016 PROJECT STATUS Main Project Site Southland Industrial Test and balance for heating, ventilation and air conditioning is ongoing throughout the building. Computrol continued programing work from the BMS panel on the 3 rd floor. Southland continued troubled shooting EF-1 and EF-13 which are down as VFD replacement may be necessary. Continued installation of stainless steel exhaust ductwork for Corrosive/Chemical and Flammable Storage Cabinets on the 3 rd floor. Continued hooking up/ tying in inlets and outlet for Lab Equipment including dish washer, refrigerators and Bio-Safety Cabinets. Continued installation of rough-in and piping for domestic water, gas, vacuum and air outlets mainly in room # 321, 323 and 324. Continued installing rough-in for compressed air in Paleontology Lab #121. Continued labeling pipes behind access panels and installed brass-ids for above ceiling pipes throughout the building. Continued installation of gas turrets and copper piping for fixed tables in the 1 st and 2 nd floor Labs. Commissioning of all MEP systems is ongoing, Bi- Weekly meetings are held by the Commissioning Agent (TMA) to track progress. Upcoming commission meetings will be held weekly on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM starting from 1/6/16. CMF Continued installing sheet metal for the parapet wall on the west side of the roof and continued installing sheet metal for exterior door thresholds on the 3 rd floor and roof. Raymond- Completed reinstalling the door frame in Projects Room #326 in order to correct the swing direction of the door that was previously installed. Continued performing drywall patching and repair work throughout the building. Simmons & Woods- Continued applying secondary and final coat throughout the building. Continued touch-up paint on door frames and below T-bars on all floors. Berg Electrical- Started coordinating with Digital Network to adjust the height of power whip for projectors screens throughout the building. Completed hooking-up/hardwiring laboratory equipment including Autoclaves, Refrigerators, Bio Safety Cabinets and Under-Counter Dishwasher. Continued installing power outlets boxes for fixed and mobile tables in the 1 st and 2 nd floor Labs. Commissioning is ongoing and tracking progress via Bi-Weekly and upcoming weekly meetings conducted by TMA (Commissioning Agent). Intellinet continued terminating CAT 6 cables and punching fiber inside telecom rooms. Intellinet also installed Protocol Data Units and Uninterruptable Power Supplys in all telecom rooms and relocate one (1) rack form Room #104 to 300E. Leviton continued fine-tuning timing for motion sensors and auxillary sensors for lighting control inside Lab spaces. Costco completed Pre-Functional Fire Alarm Test in late November/2015, pending submittal of Pre-Functional Checklist. No activities Costco activities were observed these two weeks. Preferred Ceiling- Completed ceiling tile installation throughout the building. All access material was removed and cleared from the job site. Corona- Completed replacing and installing frosted glass panels on the main sloped curtain wall at the northwest elevation. Continued replacing the frosted glass panels on the west wing storefront of the building. Continued replacing the wood panels in the 3 rd classrooms with fire rated glazing. Smith Emery started assembling the test frames in preparation to start negative water pressure test on the 3 rd floor southwest entrances. ISEC- Completed installing Corrosive/Chemical and Flammable Storage Cabinets in the 3 rd floor Chemical Storage and Prep Circulation 230. Continued removing incorrectly installed cabinets in room 321, 323 and 329. Cleaning and placing BIW 046 Page 1 of 6

2 cardboard for casework protection is ongoing. Hoover & Sunbelt Flooring- Completed VCT installation throughout the building with the exception of small areas on the 2 nd floor. Continued installing rubber base on perimeter walls and below casework throughout the building. Completed installation of the grey rubber flooring at Stair #01. CWD blocked access to Stair #01 to protect the grey rubber flooring. CWD/All Pro- Continued cleaning restrooms and casework throughout the building. Continued power washing and cleaning the flatwork throughout the site. Delta- Completed installing the adjusting CHW valves at Library Road per College request. Complete adjusting manhole covers on the north side drive way which are flush to the asphalt paving. Completed installing the additional dome grates on the north side of the building to remedy the overflow and accumulation of water observed during previous rain events. EJ Completed installation of wood and hollow metal doors on all floors. Continued installing hardware for wood and hollow metal doors. Redrock- Continued installing the Access Control System for doors throughout the building with the exception of doors that connect the Labs to Lab Support areas on the 3 rd floor. Pursuant to College request due to functionality and safety concerns, the change in hardware set used for doors that connect the Labs to Lab Support areas is issued to DSA as a CCD-A by AOR. Traid Continued installing the handrails at Site Stair D. Completed grinding the guardrails and handrails at Ramp B. Preito Continued sacking and patching the concrete walls and planters on the south and southeast side of the building. Preferred Landscape Completed placing plant material by the electrical enclosure. Continued placing plant material at the lower west hill. Continued hand watering plants throughout the site. JPI No activities during these two weeks. Best Roofing Continued power washing the main and lower roof. Started applying coating on sheet metal that covers roof penetration, structural post bottoms and HVAC unit pads on the roof. Observatory: - Landscape: Pursuant to College request, D+D and NUVS proposed installation of DG and removal of the existing plants (hydroseed) and weeds. The College reviewed the new landscape drawings and approved. CWD will provide ROM cost. Telescope: D+D proposed the new layout for the telescope at the Observatory. SEOR also issued new details for the telescope pier. The College is in the process of reviewing the new layout of the telescope to ensure accurate dimensions and proceed with sign off. Building Window Testing:- Smith Emery is in the process of assembling test frames on the 2 nd and 3 rd floor west entrance areas in preparation to start negative water pressure testing. Replacement of frosted glass on the main sloped curtain wall on the northwest elevation is completed by Corona. Frosted glass replacement at the west wing elevation is ongoing. Complete installation of chemical storage cabinet exhaust ductwork. Complete applying Garland product roof coating. Complete HVAC Test and Balance. Complete installation of plumbing fixtures in all Labs and Lab Support areas. Continue MEP commissioning. Central Plant Land Scape: Resume landscape work and place decorative rocks pending cost approval.
