1 Major Projects Update September 2017 Prepared by Business and Operations September 11, 2017 Transportation Update As of 9/6/17 we have 4,803 students registered for busing, up 643 from last month s update. Road construction in SMS area has been an issue with SMS/LHS PM routes. Under the Transportation link of the new BPS website is a Bus Delays/Changes tab. This tab shows: o Buses that are delayed, why they are delayed, and how far behind they are. o It will also show if a spare bus has been sent in place of the regular bus so students know which bus to watch for. Facilities Update Construction Progress Bismarck High School Addition & Renovation Bid in February 2018 Century High School Phase II Bid in February

2 Century High School Addition & Renovation Phase I Foundations have been excavated and helical piers are being drilled. Framing is continuing and soon to be completed. Ductwork and heat line is being hung. Started electrical roughing in walls. 3 Horizon Middle School Addition & Renovation Footing and foundation work continues on the west side. Progress continues on the backfill and the foundation work on the east additions. Sprinklers are reinstalled where the sewer line was put in. Sidewalk work and other concrete has also been completed in this area. Mechanical rough in is in progress on the west side. 5 Wachter Middle School Addition & Renovation Exterior stud construction has commenced at Area C East. Openings at windows and doors remain to be framed. The first floor slab at area C East has been placed and about 80% of the interior walls have been constructed. Steel roof deck has been placed on Area C East roof and is being attached. Steel roof deck is ready to commence at Area C West. The second floor slab for Area C West has been placed. Rough in plumbing for the ground floor of Area C West is in place. The foundations at area A are complete and backfill is nearly complete. Masons are laying CMU walls at Area A. Helical piers have been drilled at area D. Area D has been excavated for footings. Electrical service upgrades are complete. Wachter Middle School Metal stud construction commenced at C East Rough in plumbing at Area C West Masons are laying CMU walls at Area A Grade beams being formed at Area D 5
