3 1. ROUND-TAPERED COMPOSITE LIGHT POLES GRP composite poles can be buried in the ground due to their corrosion-resistant properties. This installation method is easy and cost-effective, as no concrete works are required. Light poles are shaped conically in heights of up to 9m in standard length. Compillar s composite light poles can also be assembled by bolts. This tapered round profile features a fully corrosion-resistant composite base. 7 4. GRP POLES FOR TELECOMMUNICATION AND POWER TRANSMISSION LINES APPLICATION GRP composite poles are an ideal replacement for wooden telecommunication poles. When compared to wooden poles, composite columns have a longer service-life ( years), weigh less and are insect-resistant. Compillar s composite poles for power transmission lines currently extend up to 10m in height. They are designed to withstand 500kg of load-resistance on top. Poles are easily installed in challenging and inaccessible environments. 5. 8 6. LIGHT POLE ACCESSORIES TRASH BIN Compillar offers custom-designed trash bins as a light pole accessory, making them suitable for car parking applications. The trash bin is attachable using a stainless- steel clamp. It features a lock and key and can be coloured to match the tint of the light pole. 11 Passive safety BS EN Compillar performed calculations and simulations for composite pole for compliance with the passive safety standard. Glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) composite poles are an alternative to metal and concrete lighting columns, and have a maintenance-free operating life. The design of GRP laminate is resilient in humid, salty and windy conditions, allowing Compillar to supply lighting poles to chemical environment plants, and high-corrosion and high-voltage areas with no risk of injury. Comparing strength to weight ratio, GRP composite material is stronger and four times lighter in comparison to steel. This enables reduced transport and on-site installation costs.
