They now have lightreflective steel capping, and are coloured snow white. Their galvanised steel construction ensures rust resistance. Features such as the patented Quick-Release Clip (QRC) ensure quick installation. The grids can also be disassembled and the Cross Tees reused. Where necessary, the grids can be bolstered with insulation for improved thermal and acoustic performance. The DONN grid system will always be South Africa s first choice for suspended ceilings.

4 Setting the standard with our Fire Rated system The DONN grid system has undergone stringent tests to no less than four independent safety fire performance standards at the Fire Lab, and has been awarded an unrivalled 60 minute fire rating. The system has been tested to SANS10177: Part 2 (Stability and Integrity). The system includes Gyproc Celotex TM mineral fibre ceiling tiles, as well as our signature Fire Notches integrated with the latest generation of Main Tees. The DONN system is the only product on the market with a fire rating above 30 minutes in accordance with SANS10177: Part 2. Today they are manufactured using steel alloy for accuracy and resilience. The Quick Release Clips allow for easy installation with no accidental dropouts. The quality of the design has had a lasting impact on ceiling grid systems. The familiar DONN click is as reliable and reassuring as ever peace of mind that Cross Tees cannot accidentally fall out during installation. Effortless installations with DONN The DONN Tees are easy to install and remove, even without tools. The strong, heavy-duty Cross Tee clips simply click into place, allowing for installation above and below the ceiling height. Our Cross Tees include override ends that are resistant to twisting but have a professional, finished look without exposed steel edges. The Cross Tee packaging is also reusable.

6 Product Information and Technical Data Fire Rated Ceiling System Specification 1. Performance criteria SANS 10177:Part 2-60min fire rating (Stability and Integrity) 2. Main Tees: Product: DONN T38 FR QRC Fire Rated Main Tees Main Tees to be s paced at 1200 mm centres. Main Tees shall not be fixed to the wall. Do not stagger the DONN Fire Notches. DONN Fire Notches shall be spaced at 3600 mm centres. 3. Cross Tees: DONN T38 FR QRC (1200) Cross Tee DONN T38 FR QRC (600) Cross Tee Install Cross Tees at 600 mm centres. Cross Tees more than 400 mm shall be suspended. 4. Suspension: DONN Hanger strap 19 mm, Donn Wafer Head Tek screw 13mm DONN Hanger strap 19 mm shall be suitably fixed to the building structural members. We do not recommend using fixings with combustible components. Main Tees shall be suspended at maximum 1200 mm centres. Install additional hangers on both sides of the DONN Fire Notch. The hangers on both sides of the DONN Fire Notch shall be positioned less than 150 mm from the centre of the DONN Fire Notch. Fix hangers to the main tees using 1 x DONN Wafer Head Tek screw 13 mm. Perimeter suspension should not be more than 400 mm from the wall. The company: While it s true that some technologies last a lifetime, companies must continue to challenge themselves as the world around them changes. Ideas evolve and adapt, and so must the companies behind them. Gyproc will be the first company to use the new patented Fire Notch from USG outside of the USA. There is a need for improved handling, both on site and in the warehouses. Materials: Donn ceiling suspension systems are the most used ceiling grids in the world. In fact, every year in Europe enough grids are manufactured to go twice around the world. Aluminium has been surpassed by steel as the element of choice based on strength and performance relative to weight. All new cross tees are steel capped. Celotex, part of the Saint-Gobain group, provides the mineral fibre tiles used in the system. Celotex tiles cut and handle very well, they are 15mm thick, have a good NRC and are competitively priced. Gyptone tiles meet acoustic requirements without complicated installations. No need for Fire Notch on Screw up grid, this will push off the board and is used for insulation requirements only.

8 Fire resistance: The grid system with celotex tiles is fire rated, not the grid itself. Insulation is generally used in a flush plastered ceiling and protects services in the plenum. Stability and integrity measures are in place to prevent ceiling collapse during the early stages of a fire. All fire rated exposed grid systems can only comply with stability and integrity. The T38 main tees are fire resistant at no extra cost to the customer. The fire notch allows for expansion, providing stability and integrity. Suspensions 150mm either side of a fire notch is mandatory (but only if a fire rating is required). Fire notches are to be placed in line, not staggered. This allows the ceiling to expand uniformly and retain the rectangular format to ensure tiles remain in place. The system includes hold-down clips that are necessary for an approved fire rating. The system was tested at the Fire Lab to four standards: SANS; ASTM; EN and TUV. Other features: The new grid systems are fully interchangeable with the current T38V grids. No cellulite during handling or installation. The cross tee packaging is reusable at no extra cost to the customer. We are able to assist clients with matching colours - through powder coating only.
