The experience achieved in more than 70 years of work, both in national and international markets, and the research carried out into different fields enabled to develop a very high know-how to provide solutions which go beyond castings, including complementary stages of the supply chain. The unique honeycomb structure of the plates allows an isotropic distribution of the forces when working under stress alternating compression and traction. The production of floor plates from design and mould construction to casting and all machine finishing is carried out by Fonderie Mora Gavardo. The plates are suitable for various surface loads and applications, such as plates for machine tools, for the assembly and testing of machines and complete industrial systems. High quality iron castings with standard mechanic characteristics, with a capacity from 5 to 40 ton/m 2 and many different sizes, guarantee their use in a large range of industrial applications. Several floor plates can be connected into a floor plate field using corresponding plate connectors. Floor plate machining 4

5 The set-up is carried out with appropriate adjustment elements that are selected according to the type of set-up and plate load capacity. All the connectors and adjustment elements are delivered with the plate. Thanks to its know-how, Fonderie Mora Gavardo can offer not only a standard range of products, but also customized solutions for machine tools players such as moving tables, turning tables and structural parts. These items can be manufactured on customer s specific requests and projects with the technical support offered by Fonderie Mora Gavardo design and research department. 6 H neycomb TECHNOLOGY Technical characteristics of Honeycomb floor plates SURFACE ACCURACY - TOLERANCES A The floor plates comply with the DIN 876/II-2 standards, whereas slots comply with DIN 650 standard with tolerance H12. The material used is high performance cast iron (Fonderie Mora Gavardo technology). Several tailor made solutions can be also provided to suit customers needs with tolerances up to H7. B) Traditional system with non-shrink grout by using the loading holes made in Fonderie Mora Gavardo plates. This element offers a simplification and standardization of the components. The system with tie-rods locked in the prepared foundation pits complies with the mechanical requirements and guarantees the loads thanks to the insertion of a tear resistant bottom plate. The grout will be poured into the foundation using the loading holes made in Fonderie Mora Gavardo plates.
