1 ADDENDUM TO SPECIFICATIONS ENTITLED Spartanburg Community College P. Dan Hull Building Reroofing Construction Project at RAs -7 DATED April 08 ADDENDUM NO. May, 08 The Specifications and Drawings contained in the project manual P. Dan Hull Building Reroofing Construction Project at RAs -7 and dated April 08 are amended as follows:. PRE-BID DISCUSSION Attached please find the Pre-Bid Meeting Summary dated May 0, 08 ( pages). With enclosures: o Meeting attendants sign in sheet ( page).. CLARIFICATIONS TO THE SPECIFICATION a) Roof Area is being subdivided into two areas, a & b. a. a will be in the BASE BID. b. b will be in ALTERNATE No. b) Roof Areas 5, & 7 are now being considered Not in Contract.. CHANGES TO SPECIFICATION a) In Section 000 Summary of Work page, Article. BASE BID WORK, delete Subparagraph.. in its entirety and Add the following new subparagraph:.. Roof Area a: Work generally consists of: The complete Removal of: 5 mil TPO temporary roof membrane (mechanically attached and spot adhered in low rise foam adhesive to the Cement Wood Fiber decking), existing aggregate surfacing, asphalt and fiberglass felt Built-Up Roofing system and.5 mineral perlite insulation adhered in asphalt, mechanically attached base sheet down to the existing Cement Wood Fiber decking, metal and bituminous flashings, abandoned equipment curbs and metal and flexible bellows expansion joints. At new control joint, prepare RA b side of control joint by removing aggregate feet past the cut line of the existing roof; Preparations including but not limited to: repairs to existing Cement Wood Fiber decking to receive new Modified Asphalt Roofing Assembly, and repairs to decking where abandoned curbs are removed, temporary shoring of existing supply and return duct work until existing H-Frame duct supports with pyramid thermoplastic bases can be adjusted to conform with the new roofing assembly; and the New installation of: mechanically attached base sheet over rosin sized sheathing paper, polyisocyanurate base insulation layers and polyisocyanurate tapered insulation at backslopes, crickets and saddles between main roof drains, gypsum insulation cover board adhered in low rise foam adhesive, base ply PF WBS:bsa ADD-

CHANGES TO THE DRAWINGS a) K changed to reflect the new roof area designations b) R changed to reflect the new roof area designations; Added a Control Joint to separate RAs a & b. Dan Hull Building for the subject project. The following attended and a meeting sign-in sheet is attached hereto. The point of contact for the Architect is Mr. Adam Warren. Mr. David Barber is the day-to-day contact for the Owner. ) All attendees were reminded to sign the roster to confirm their firm s presence at the pre-bid conference. ) Mr. Shepard announced that the bid opening date is June 7 th, 08 at :00 pm. ) Bidders were reminded that it is their responsibility to make sure that their bid has been received by the Owner s representative. Late bids will be rejected as being non-responsive. Page of

8 May 0, 08 PF ) Bidders were informed that AIA Document A Instructions to Bidders applies to this project. 5) The Bid Form was reviewed, and an announcement made that all blanks on the form must be filled in by the Contractor. ) There is a requirement for a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the Base Bid amount on this project. 7) There will be a requirement of the successful bidder to provide a 00% Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Payment Bond. 8) All bids submitted are to be good for a period of no less than 0 days. 9) The Owner wishes to have the project begin within days after Notice to Proceed and completed in the Summer of 08. The project must be substantially completed in 5 calendar days from the date of commencement. 0) Liquidated Damages will be assessed against final payment in the amount of $00.00 per day for every calendar day that final completion exceeds the established project end date. ) Weather delays were discussed, and Bidders were informed that 5 calendar days per month have been built into the project schedule for adverse weather. ) The Bidders were informed that the Unit Price quantities expressed in the Bid Documents are to be included in the Base Bid price. Refer to SECTION 005 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT. ) Visits back to the site during the bid period are permitted. Contractors should contact Mr. David Barber to make arrangements prior to performing any field work and check out when they leave. Contractors were instructed to provide their own means of access to the roof. ) There is a requirement for the Contractor to provide an Asbestos Free warranty for all work at all locations under this contract. 5) There is a requirement for the Contractor to provide an installer s -year watertight warranty for all work at all locations under this contract. ) The successful Contractor is responsible for all permits and licenses required for the work contained in the project. 7) The successful Contractor will be responsible for maintaining the roof areas included in this project watertight for the entire duration of the project. 8) The Bidders were reminded that by executing their bids they are certifying that their firms maintain a drug free workplace in accordance with SC law. 9) The project existing conditions, removals, preparation requirements and installations of new materials were discussed during a review of the project specifications and drawings. The following comments were addressed in the meeting: The Project Alternate No. roof area will be reduced by making RAs 5, & 7, Not in Contract. o RA will be given the new designation of RA a and RA b. o RA a will be a part of the base bid and RA b will become Alternate No.. The Soprema Polyisocyanurate Insulation was not included in the specifications and the Sopra- ISO insulation will be added by Addendum. Page of

9 May 0, 08 PF The modified asphalt finish ply manufactured by Soprema was incorrectly labeled in the specifications and the Soprema Elastophene LS FR GR SG will be added by Addendum. HVAC Rail - Detail on Drawing sheet, is incorrect. Detail will be voided by Addendum and replaced with a new duct support Detail on Drawing Sheet. A new Control Joint separating RA a from b will be a part of the Base Bid. This detail will be Detail 5 on Drawing sheet and be added by Addendum. Hearing no questions, a walk through was conducted at P. Dan Hull Building to give a physical/visual reference of the locations of the work to be performed. There being no further questions or discussion the meeting was adjourned at approximately :08 am. All recipients of this summary are requested to notify the office of the Architect in writing of any item they feel is stated in error or has been omitted such that the item may become a part of the written project record.
