VB VARIABLE CHAMBER ROUND BALERS W Critical Baling Technologies 3 v The forced, aggressive Integral Rotor with large, heavy-duty flighting is manufactured with or without a crop cutting device. This Integral Rotor system provides the baler with even feeding regardless of crop conditions. With the unique Progressive Density bale formation system, each bale is made the way you want it, rock hard all the way through, or with a soft core, even in small diameters. Perfectly-filled bales are held together firmly by the twines and/or net. The well-engineered net wrap system is located on the front of the baler for easy monitoring of the wrapping process, and the net is pre-stretched for optimum bale integrity. The simple and durable design of the KUHN VB/VBP balers allows for fewer moving parts, unmatched crop flow, and outstanding performance and dependability.

Key Features Simple technology that produces perfectly-shaped bales Integral Rotor - The aggressive design provides maximum efficiency, with high-performance throughput in various crop conditions. OptiCut - The Integral Rotor is combined with a mounted knife system for maximum cutting efficiency Progressive Density - Increasing tension as the bale grows provides a firm bale with a tough outer shell. Driveline - A simple, durable driveline, with 1¼ chains offers low maintenance, dependability and long service life. Tying - Whether using net wrap or twine options, with KUHN your bale is secured until needed. ISOBUS - A feature on the VB/VBP models. 6 VB INTAKE Four Different Intake Systems Open Throat (1) The wide pickup gives tremendous capacity for easy handling of the heaviest windrows produced by modern, high-capacity combines and mower conditioners. With the open throat design, there is also no restriction on the crop as it feeds into the baler. These features work together to help provide high field performance. 5 Integral Rotor Technology Large-diameter, heavy-duty auger flighting is incorporated directly onto the outer sections of the rotor, which is called Integral Rotor Technology. This simple, maintenance-free, short-distance intake system ensures even feeding regardless of variations in the crop. With this system, even the heaviest of crops are force-fed through the short intake, resulting in higher forward speeds for outstanding productivity and less crop damage. BALE TRACK PENDULUM + Dropfloor* If a blockage might appear the PTO clutch will disengage. In addition the complete cutting floor including the knives can be lowered hydraulically from the driver s seat. First the cutting floor will be lowered followed by the knives. After the blockage is cleared the cutting floor including the knives can be brought back into working position. *Excluding Autoplus balers

OptiFeed Rotor (2) The OptiFeed rotor incorporates double feeding tines and integrated augers to provide a consistent, forced flow of crop into the bale chamber. This rotor design helps even out windrows by moving them where needed, for consistent bales every time. OptiCut 14 (3) This Integral Rotor incorporates a 14-knife OptiCut system designed to even out the windrow and force-feed the crop into the baler for maximum throughput. The 14-knife OptiCut cutting system provides a theoretical cutting length of 70mm / 2-3/4. Each single knife is spring protected against damage from foreign objects. The knives and scrapers overlap across the intake area to ensure maximum efficiency. 6 OptiCut 23 (4) KUHN combines the benefits of intensive cutting and the simplicity of mechanical protection in the OptiCut 23 Integral Rotor. The OptiCut 23 system provides a theoretical cutting length of 45mm / 1-3/4. Each single knife is spring protected against damage from foreign objects. The operator can choose to have 0, 7, 11, 12, or 23 knives in operation. The all new rotor design allows more room for the crop and more efficient direction of the crop over a longer cutting cutting surface. This results in a more effective cut and less horsepower required, as well as less chance for rotor blockage.

VB INTAKE Progressive Density BALE TRACK 7 4x x Instant Bale Starting Bale formation starts in a well-designed pre-chamber, where belts and rollers provide fast, consistent core formation. In this pre-chamber, moderate or soft-cores can be chosen to meet the needs of any operation. Bale rollers and five multi-grip, wide-section belts reduce crop losses and improve bale rotation. 2x Progressive Density, how does it work? As the bale grows within the bale chamber, the belt tensioning arm is subjected to steadily increasing resistance from two hydraulic cylinders and a spring tensioner. So as the diameter grows, so does the bale s density. The result is a very firm bale with a moderate core not too soft, not too hard. With a tougher outer layer, straw bales will be more tolerant to poor weather conditions, while silage bales will maintain their shape for improved stacking and easier handling.

Control in Comfort ISOBUS All* KUHN VB/VBP balers are ISOBUS compatible. ISOBUS compatible tractors will therefore not require a separate control box for the baler. Alternatively, the Focus or CCI monitor can be used with tractors that are not ISOBUS compatible. Operator settings, such as bale diameter and knife activation, are accessed via the monitor. Operator warnings, such as left - right indicator and max bale size, and operator information, including bale diameter and number of bales, are also provided. CCI The ISOBUS compatible CCI monitor has a large, color screen with outstanding clarity. Baling adjustments can be easily made via the touch-screen or by use of the intuitive, large, soft-touch keys. The CCI monitor can also be used with many other ISOBUS compatible machines. Focus The Focus monitor offers total control on a wide, clear monochrome display. With large soft-touch buttons, baling adjustments can be easily made from the comfort of the tractor cab. The Focus monitor provides all information needed for operation of the baler as well as warnings in case of errors. 8 AutoPlus This simplified, in-cab control box provides clear, easy-to-read information on the baling and wrapping process. It allows the operator to choose from net or twine tying, select the number of wraps, and activate the cutting system, pickup or bale counter. All functions can be preset with ease and monitored through the control box, and the system can be switched between manual and automatic modes at the touch of a button. An integral magnet and hook allow the AutoPlus control box to be quickly installed in any cab without tools. * Excluding AutoPlus balers Non ISOBUS compatible

VB NON STOP BALING Optimum Tying Performance v Tying Cycle The tying cycle is a critical step in the baling process. Less time spent tying or net wrapping means higher efficiency and productivity. To optimize this process, adjustments are conveniently made from the in-cab control box. The bale diameter and number of wraps are set independently, so even when the diameter is changed, the number of wraps remains constant. On KUHN VB and VBP balers, the tying system is located at the front of the machine, providing a perfect view of the tying process from the tractor seat. 9 BALE TRACK Net wrapping system The net roll can be easily changed while standing next to the machine. There is no need to spread the net as this is done automatically, within seconds, when starting a new tying cycle. KUHN s innovative design applies constant tension to the net during the tying process. The system runs at 90% of the bale s rotational speed, providing strong bale integrity. The net is also fed onto the bale in the most direct route, limiting the room for errors and providing consistent bale tying regardless of bale size or crop conditions. Twine tying system The twine tying cycle is monitored via the in-cab control box, but there is also an excellent view of the process from the tractor seat. The cycle begins with both twine tubes moving from the center towards the outside of the bale. Just before reaching the bale edges, the twine begins to wrap and overlaps itself, so there are no loose ends at the bale edges. Gradually, the twine tubes move to the center of the bale, finally crossing over each other and intertwining the strands. This again ensures that the strands of twine are fixed in the center and there are no loose ends. To meet the demands of different crops and baling situations, the KUHN VB and VBP models can be equipped with both twine and net tying systems. Changing between these systems can be easily done via the in-cab control box from the comfort of the tractor seat.

VBP BALING AND WRAPPING A One-Man Operation 11 BALE TRACK v Two technologies from KUHN are combined in one machine, the VBP BalePack. This baler/wrapper combination begins with a standard VB 2160 or VB 2190 variable chamber baler with an OptiCut Integral Rotor and unites it with an innovative wrapper system. This purpose-built machine is simple to use and capable of working on even the steepest slopes and in all crop conditions. Fast and reliable bale transfer, combined with a high-speed, twin-satellite wrapping unit that is standard equipped with IntelliWrap, give the KUHN VBP BalePack the capacity to reach an output of up to 55 bales per hour. ISOBUS All KUHN VBP balers are ISOBUS compatible. ISOBUS compatible tractors will therefore not require a separate control box for the baler. Alternatively, the Focus or CCI monitor can be used with tractors that are not ISOBUS compatible. Operator settings, such as bale diameter and number of film layers, are accessed via the monitor. Operator warnings, such as max bale size and film break, and operator information, including bale transfer and number of bales, are also provided. KUHN offers two monitors with the VBP BalePack. The ISOBUS compatible CCI monitor has a large, color touch screen with outstanding clarity. Baling adjustments can be easily made with the intuitive, large, soft-touch keys. The CCI monitor can also be used with many other ISOBUS compatible machines. The Focus monitor offers total control on a wide, clear monochrome display. With large soft-touch buttons, baling adjustments can be easily made from the comfort of the tractor cab. The Focus monitor provides all information needed for operation of the baler as well as warnings in case of errors.

Bale Transfer Twin loading forks provide rapid, reliable bale transfer To minimize idle time and maximize output, a rapid bale transfer is required. KUHN recognizes that not all bales are made in perfect field conditions, and the VBP BalePack has been designed to ensure a rapid bale transfer, even when working in steep, sloping fields. The first loading fork (red) collects the bale as it leaves the bale chamber. The wrapping table is tilted forward; ready to receive the bale. Advantage: There is no possibility of the bale rolling off the rear of the wrapping table when facing up a steep slope. The second loading fork (blue) transfers the bale onto the wrapping table. The tailgate shuts automatically, with the second loading fork still in raised position. Advantage: This saves time and also prevents any chance of the bale rolling forward into the tailgate when facing downhill. BALE AND WRAP IN ONE GO 12 The wrapping table returns to its horizontal position and the second loading fork is lowered. The bale sits low on the table, supported by four wide belts and four lateral guide rollers. Advantage: Regardless of bale size, the table offers good support and allows perfect wrapping. The IntelliWrap wrapping system, with closemounted pre-stretchers, rapidly wraps the bale, either in conventional or (optional) 3D mode. Advantage: Vertically mounted pre-stretch units ensure no grass is sprinkled between the layers of film during wrapping for effective sealing between film layers, promoting highest possible silage quality. The low mounted table allows the wrapped bale to be gently discharged on the move, either automatically or manually at any time during formation of the next bale. Advantage: When working on sloping grounds, the wrapped bale can be discharged while net is being applied to the following bale, saving time and increasing output potential.

VBP WRAPPING IntelliWrap, The Intelligent Wrapping Technology KUHN s baling factory has been the pioneer in wrapping and baling technology, leading the way for over 25 years with innovative products such as bale wrappers, baling and wrapping combinations, and 3D wrapping. The latest result of this continued vision is a revolutionary new wrapping technique called IntelliWrap. 1 2 Selection of 5 film layers The bale is covered with 3 layers and 67% overlap BALE TRACK Increasing of the bale rotation speed Final 2 layers with 50% overlap Excellent wrapping; by introducing IntelliWrap, greater management and control is achieved. IntelliWrap uses sophisticated electronics and hydraulics to monitor the wrapping process and continuously controls the film overlap, allowing total flexibility. Depending on local circumstances, crop conditions and storage periods the operator simply adjusts the amount of requested film layers (4,5,6,7,8,9 ) into the terminal by a push on a button. The scissor film cutters assure a clean, consistent cut. Another feature of IntelliWrap is 3D wrapping. 3D wrapping is an intelligent and innovative way of applying stretch film to round bales. Key to the 3D wrapping process is its ability to distribute the total film quantity more uniformly and effeciently across the entire surface of the bale. By first wrapping the cylindrical surface of the bale more air is excluded and the shape of the bale maintains, even after a longer storage period. With the pre-strechters in their horizontal position, only the bale is rotated on the wrapping table. After closing the cylindrical surface of the bale, the pre-stretchers return to their vertical position to appy the remaining layers and close the bale.
