Provide electrical power to TTC subways and streetcars by transforming AC power from Toronto Hydro into DC power There are currently over 50 TTC substations in the City, many in residential neighbourhoods Quiet, very safe, and do not emit radiation, electricity or any harmful pollutants Need to be located every km along the subway line 7

18 45 The Pond Road 2 Whitehorse Road Emergency Exit Buildings Two emergency exit buildings are also planned for this neighborhood and will connect underground to the subway tunnel Emergency exits are used to safely move passengers from the subway train and tunnel in the event of an emergency at track level during operation Emergency exits are located approximately every 762 metres apart There are currently 40 emergency exit buildings throughout Toronto and Vaughan for the TTC subway 18

31 31 Substation and Emergency Exit Operations Doors locked, alarmed for intruders TTC Transit Control remote monitoring TTC staff visits to the substation average four times a month, one or two staff, parked car/truck TTC staff visits to emergency exits are to address maintenance or for staff training TTC Transit Control
