5 strategy success from the very beginning The ultimate economic success of a challenging construction project is decided long before the foundations are laid. Even during the process of project planning and design, accurate preparatory conceptual work can have a significant influence on around 80 per cent of all subsequent construction and operational costs. In other words, the earlier the Contractor s competence is involved, the greater the potential for optimisation. 7 instruments efficiency through partnership The Züblin teamconcept is a business model that transforms the basic principles of partnering into tangible, contractually defined procedures and methods of operation. It offers maximum transparency and efficient organizational structures, enabling prompt and appropriate response. Risks and potential conflicts can be identified and controlled from an early stage by jointly agreeing on well-balanced contractual arrangements. Early involvement Züblin s broad competence in construction is brought into the equation as early as the planning stage. By using all of the optimisation potential, the Client obtains certainty with regard to cost, quality and project duration, even in the earliest phases of a project. Common goals All project-relevant goals are mutually agreed between the Client and Züblin. Both the objective goals (costs, schedule, quality, health and safety) and the subjective goals (team spirit, communication, organisation, decision-making) are defined in a manner that ensures they are measurable and manageable. Cost transparency All costs are clearly and consistently itemised and regularly declared. Minimising of risk As a consequence of the early involvement of the Züblin competence in construction together with mutual contractual arrangements and the joint assessment of the scope of work, risks are minimised for all contracted parties. Joint controlling A partnering team made up of representatives from both the Client and Züblin monitors the adherence to all the objective and subjective goals. Workshops, seminars and events ensure the constant revision and improvement of co-operation and team spirit. Models for dispute resolution Contracted parties agree on models and actions to be applied for the resolution of dispute, the objective being a quick, out-of-court settlement. Disruptions and conflicts are solved by the project teams. If this is unsuccessful, a co-determined clearing house is established, comprising members of the management of both parties.
