1 May 17 th 2011 Ernie Carrizal, P.E. County of El Paso, Texas Road & Bridges Public Works Administration 500 E. San Antonio, 4 th Floor El Paso, Texas Re: New Youth Services Center Architect s Contract Amendment Building Commissioning Services Dear Mr. Carrizal: In reference to our agreement for the New Youth Services Center, I am proposing for approval by the County Court a fee increase to the contract to include costs for the Commissioning of Energy Systems and the building envelope for the Energy Star rating compliance not to exceed $30,000 (Thirty- Thousand Dollars). Wright & Dalbin Architects will be contracting with two firms to provide these services. The firm Engineering Services Co would perform the Commissioning of Energy Systems which calls for the plan and submittal review of HVAC plans and specifications, installation verification of HVAC equipment, pre- performance tests for installation and verify operability of all HVAC equipment, performance test to measure and verify unit operating parameters, and compile and submit a formal commissioning report. Paul Ricketts PE, CxA, LEED AP will be the engineer CxA for the project. Senercon will perform the Energy Star compliance commissioning. It includes the building envelope design and construction review and inspections, building structure and ductwork pressure testing. I therefore, request an amendment of $30,000 to our contract for the commissioning of the Youth Services Center building. The site work construction has started and we will need to get these consultants started right away if approved by County Commissioners. Sincerely, Frederic Dalbin, AIA, LEED AP Project Architect CC: County Judge Veronica Escobar 2112 murchison drive el paso texas tel:
