BOX 191 MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT MCKEE STREET MANCHESTER, CT BID NO. 16/17-5 ADDENDUM NO The bid opening has been changed to July 13, 2:00 p.m. 2. Attached is a drawing which shows soil borings done on site when the fire house was originally constructed. These borings are representative of the soil on the site and bidders shall use these borings as the basis of their design for the foundation. 3. The substantial completion date has been changed to January 1, Delete the Bid Proposal Form and use the revised Bid Proposal Form attached to this addendum. 5. On Page 2 of 4 in the Specifications, Item 3, DESIGN CRITERIA, Floor, change 3000 psi to 3500 psi. 6. The following questions were asked regarding the bid. Q1. Alternate #2 asks for cementitious siding in lieu of metal wall panels. Will the corner boards and trim need to be a composite material? A1. The corner boards to be 1 x 6 PVC. Q2. Alternate #3 asks for a 30 year architectural asphalt shingle in lieu of metal roof panels. The slope of the roof is 3-inch pitch in 12 inches. The manufacturer s warranty will only cover a 4-inch pitch in 12 inches at standard 5 inch shingle exposure. Are we to assume to line the entire roof with ice and water shield? Shall we allow for a 4 exposure of new asphalt shingles? July 7, 2016

2 A2. Change roof pitch to be 4:12 slope. Ice and water protection is to be installed at all roof edges (48 width) and at main roof ridge (48 width, 24 each side of ridge). Note: Contractor to inform Town of Manchester if 4:12 roof pitch combined with 18 high (to slope mid-point) will interfere with overhead door track clearances. Q3. Is it the intent of Alternate #1 to delete the lower metal siding panel Color A and the interior protective OSB wood liner if the 4 high kicker wall is installed? A3. Yes. Q4. Can we use a fiberglass roll insulation with and integral vinyl vapor barrier (has an R value of 8) in lieu of the 1 white polyisocyanurate? A4. Add Alternate #12: Provide and install 3 white vinyl faced insulation in lieu of polyisocyanurate insulation. Q5. Is the protective OSB wood liner panel simply a piece of OSB screwed to the wall? Does it require painting? A5. Install OSB liner as per manufacturers recommended fastening instructions. OSB to be painted as noted within Design Criteria. Q6. Regarding Alternate #2, should we include 5/8 CDX plywood and moisture barrier as we are doing for Alternate #9? A6. Yes. Q7. Is painting to be included in the scope of work (in addition to prefinished items listed in the scope of work)? If so, what items? A7. Refer to Design criteria regarding items to be painted. Q8. What is the desired finished floor elevation for the new storage building? A8. The desired finished floor elevation will probably be just 4 or 6 above grade whatever slab thickness. Q9. Is there an existing site plan available showing the existing fire station? A9. See Item 2 in this addendum. Q10. Will there be a soil bearing analysis done prior to bid time? A10. See Item 2 in this addendum. July 7, 2016
