2 LAND-MARK TM GROUND REINFORCEMENT SYSTEM INTRODUCTION Welcome to the LAND-MARK T M Ground Reinforcement Brochure. We have a commitment to providing sustainable solutions for landscape and construction projects for Local Authorities, Contractors, Designers and Specifiers. Within this brochure you can see an example of where using recycled plastic materials over against traditional materials has many real benefits. It is an extremely versatile material which has been successfully used in countless projects. Currently there is a high emphasis on recycling, in particular - plastic, with EU Landfill Directives stating that between 25-40% of waste must be recycled by 2015.The government has set a target for local authorities to be recycling at least 33% of household waste by this date. The LAND-MARK T M product range is mainly manufactured from 100% High Quality recycled polyolefin materials (PP, PE). These materials consist of hydrocarbons which contain no harmful additives so environmentally speaking they are perfect. This material is mainly recovered from plastic wrapping and bags. By specifying products from the LAND-MARK T M range you are not only helping to achieve the above targets but also reducing the amount of new plastic and raw materials being used and realising the environmental benefits of using end recyclable products. CORE MISSION STATEMENT to develop and deliver the very best in ecological landscaping products to provide honest, direct personal contact, demonstrating our 100% commitment and support to be dedicated to the speedy, effective resolution of problems (we call them challenges to continually strive for the streamlining of processes to increase productivity

6 LAND-MARK TM GROUND REINFORCEMENT SYSTEM A superior, robust, easy to install system which can be used with grass or gravel, for multiple applications: CAR PARKS FOOTPATHS DRIVEWAYS AIRFIELDS EQUESTRIAN SPORTS APPLICATIONS EMERGENCY ACCESS TEMPORARY/PERMANENT ROADS GOLF COURSES (WALKWAYS/BUGGY TRACKS) HELPS MEET SUDS REQUIREMENTS

7 INSTALLATION GUIDELINES/RECOMMENDATIONS Ground Reinforcement System For Grass or Gravel finish. The LAND-MARK TM ground reinforcement system can be installed quickly and easily without the use of machines. It is delivered pre-assembled in layers of 12 tiles to each panel; these panels can be installed in one EASY step PLANTED SURFACES GRAVEL SURFACES 1. Remove soil to depth of base course plus the chosen surface finish. If required install a porous geo-textile to base & sides, for extra stability. 2. Grade surface with a slope away from any buildings 3. Apply required depth of base course clean load bearing stone (5/32, 5/46, 8/16) and compact evenly (see below)*. 4. Apply and spread evenly a levelling layer of sand to bed the grid system on. 5. Install the Grid system starting in a corner the tenons must always point in the same direction that you wish to install the next section making sure the sections are firmly connected. 6. Compact the installed area prior to filling. 7. Half fill the grid with a suitable growing medium 70% sand and 30% soil/fertilizer (a special water storing fertilizer can be provided) 50 g/m 2 nitrogen phosphate or similar. 8. Sow chosen/recommended seed into half filled grid. As a recommendation: 20% Festuca Rubra com Rodeo 0.1% Bellis Perennis 25% Festuca Ruba Trich.Dawson 40% Festuca Arundinacea Mustang 15% Lollium Perenne Langa 28% Poa Pratensis Cynthia 9. Finish filling grid with selected material the final surface MUST be just below the upper edge of the grid this is to ensure that no roots grow over the edges that could be crushed. This can be achieved by sweeping or vibrating gently. 10.During the initial growth phase( the first 6-8 weeks) the area must be kept moist and free from any traffic, this is to allow the grass to establish properly. 1. The base course preparation is exactly the same as for Planted Surfaces. But fill the Grid System with your chosen gravel (min. 10mm) finish so that the tiles are just covered. Further Notes: 1. In the preparation of the foundation take into consideration that the Grid system will be pressed into the levelling layer approx. 0.5 cm when it is compacted. 2. A distance of 2 cm should be allowed for any borders. 3. For accurate cutting, allow the Grid to overhang and trim to shape on completion of installation and prior to filling. A circular saw with a wood blade has been proved to be the most suitable for a quick clean cut. 4. Pre-assembled sections can be easily disconnected by placing on a higher surface and pushing down. Accessories: Parking place markers are available in white and can be inserted directly into the grid for marking out lines or parking bays, quick and effective. *Base Course Depth A compacted layer of stone to engineer s recommendation: 75mm 100mm Pedestrians 100mm 250mm Light Vehicular Traffic 250mm 450mm Heavy Vehicular Traffic *This is as a guide only and depends on soil type and condition. THESE ARE GUIDELINES/RECCOMENDATIONS ONLY AND CARRY NO WARRANTY AS INSTALLATION AND CONDITIONS OF USE ARE BEYOND OUR CONTROL.
