11 Site Preparation & Delivery Garage Construction Specs/Drawings We are happy to provide you with a copy of the garage construction specs at your request. Engineered stamped drawings are also available at cost. We recommend checking with your local Town Building/Code Enforcement Office before purchasing your garage. Your Code Official will be able to advise you on any restrictions or upgrades your town might require. Foundation Info Garages without a floor come standard with Pressure Treated 6 x 6 timbers around the perimeter of each half. This holds the building together during shipping and also is the base on which the walls are built. Concrete Slab ALL WOOD FLOOR GARAGES: We recommend a level, tamped pad of #2 crushed stone for any singlewide, single or two story structure with a wood floor. Stone Pad ALL FLOORLESS GARAGES: Pour a concrete slab to sizes provided by sales person and set the building directly on the concrete. This slab should NOT have cast-inplace anchor bolts. Customer is responsible to have concrete pad established prior to our delivery. When we deliver we set the building directly on the concrete. The 6 x6 pressure treated timbers get cut out in the garage door openings and between the two halves. We then bolt the 6 x6 base to the concrete. ON-SITE GARAGES: Customer is responsible to have concrete pad established prior to our delivery. Pad should be poured to the call size of the structure.
