1 AMENDMENT TO SPECIFICATIONS SECTION , Paragraph 1.01: Revise subparagraphs A, B, and C as follows: A. BASE WORK 1) Temporarily remove and store items mounted on the building exterior for reinstallation after completion of maintenance work. See SECTION ) Remove and dispose of abandoned equipment and building components mounted on the building exterior. See SECTION ) Remove and dispose of soil at base of west elevation and backfill with pea gravel. See SECTION ) Remove and replace air compressor shed. See SECTION ) Remove and replace-in-kind deteriorated roof decking. See SECTION ) Remove and replace-in-kind damaged or deteriorated siding and trim. See SECTION ) Remove and replace roofing system. See SECTION ) Remove and replace gutters and downspouts. See SECTION ) Perform Routing Maintenance of the window assemblies on the north, east, and west elevations. See SECTION ) Remove and replace-in-kind window and window/door assemblies on south elevation. See SECTION ) Remove modified window assembly at northwest corner of building and restore the original appearance. See SECTION and Photo ) Prepare and paint windows, inside and out. 2 SECTION ) Prepare and paint new and previously painted exterior building surfaces. See SECTION ) Remove and replace exterior lights as indicated. See SECTION B. OPTION ITEM #1: Remove and replace-in-kind exterior siding and corner boards on south façade, rerouting conduit and wiring for security cameras and antennas, exterior lights, and small branch circuits surface-mounted on siding to the building interior. (Note that this does not refer to 4-inch diameter conduits containing feeders for shore ties.) See SECTION and SECTION C. UNIT PRICE WORK: In the event that additional quantities of materials are required, above the quantities required for BASE WORK, the work shall be done as directed by the Contracting Officer at the Unit Price identified in the solicitation. 3 SECTION , Paragraph 1.01: Add subparagraphs 10 and 11 as follows: 10) Remove and dispose of exhaust fans and associated electrical components at the MK Shop. 11) Temporarily remove and store exhaust fan at DC Shop for later reuse. 12) Temporarily remove and store air conditioning unit mounted within window assembly on east elevation for later reuse. Replace subparagraph 1.02 D. with the following: D. (Not Used) Add the following Paragraph: 3.11 WINDOW MOUNTED EQUIPMENT: A. AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: Remove and store A/C unit for reuse. Remove and dispose of infill panel, blocking, and metal brackets. B. EXHAUST FAN at MK SHOP: Remove and dispose of exhaust fan and associated infill panel and frame, exterior metal shield, controls, wiring and conduit back to nearest Point of Connection. C. 4 SECTION Paragraph 1.01, Revise subparagraph 7 to read as follows: 7.Reframe window opening at northwest corner of building as required to accommodate replacement-in-kind window assembly (See Photo 23). Paragraph 1.07, add the subparagraphs B and C as follows: B. Engineered Wood Products: Products shall contain no added urea-formaldehyde. C. Preservative-Treated Lumber: Preservative-treated lumber with chromated copper arsenate (CCA) shall not be used. 4 Amendment A0003, 11/23/16

5 SECTION Paragraph 1.01, add subparagraph C as follows: C. OPTION ITEM #1: Remove and replace in kind exterior siding on south elevation. Add Paragraph 1.07 as follows: 1.07 SUSTAINABLY HARVESTED WOOD: Certification Organizations shall be accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). A. Virgin Lumber: Provide sustainably harvested wood, certified or labeled by an independent third party in accordance with FSC with chain-of-custody certification. B. Engineered Wood Products: Products shall contain no added urea-formaldehyde. C. Preservative-Treated Lumber: Preservative-treated lumber with chromated copper arsenate (CCA) shall not be used. Paragraph 2.01, add the following sentence to the end of the paragraph: Casings and trim shall be 1-inch thick and match the width of existing components to be replaced. Add Paragraph 2.07 as follows: 2.01 BUILDING PAPER: As specified in section Add Paragraph 3.09 as follows: 3.09 OPTION ITEM #1: Remove and replace siding on south elevation. Coordinate siding work with work at wall openings and relocation of wiring and conduit mounted on the surface of existing siding (See SECTION and SECTION ). A. Remove surface mounted items, including conduit and wiring, in accordance with Section Amendment A0003, 11/23/16

6 B. Provide temporary support for shore tie conduits as required. C. Remove and dispose of siding, corner boards at both building corners, fascia at rakes, and building paper. D. Provide new building paper over diagonal sheathing in accordance with manufacturer s recommendations. Wrap paper around building corners and seal paper to cut ends of siding. Tape edges of barrier at openings. E. Apply water-repellent preservative or primer to all end grain of new siding, and existing siding at building corners. F. Provide new metal head flashing (drip cap) at window and door openings. See Section Lap WRB over drip cap. G. Provide new replacement-in-kind exterior siding. H. Provide new, corner boards. I. Provide new fascia at rakes. J. Prep and paint new siding, trim, corner boards, casings, and metal flashing, in accordance with Section Amendment A0003, 11/23/16

7 SECTION Revise Paragraph 1.01 as follows: 1.01 SECTION INCLUDES: This section applies to the following items: A. BASE WORK: 1) Aluminum Gutters and Downspouts 2) Roof Perimeter Flashing (Drip Edge) 3) Head Flashing (Drip Edge) at Openings 4) Wall-to-Roof Flashing 5) Plumbing Vent Flashing at Roof 6) Furnace Vent Flashing at Roof B. UNIT PRICE ITEM: In the event that additional head flashing (metal drip edge flashing) is required at openings that will receive Routine Maintenance, as specified in Section , Contracting Officer may modify contract to require removal and replacement of flashings at the unit price identified in the Solicitation. Revise Paragraph 3.07 as follows: 3.07 HEAD FLASHING (Drip Edge) at WALL OPENINGS: Remove small strip of siding above opening to allow installation of new flashing over wood trim at head. Extend flashing up under existing wood siding a minimum of 3-inches. Ensure that existing building paper is not torn and that building paper laps over new metal flashing to shed water. Reinstall removed siding strip or replace-in-kind with new, backprimed, siding strip to fit opening. A. BASE WORK: Provide new drip edge at replacement-inkind window and window/door assemblies on south elevation, and at restored window assembly on west elevation. B. GARAGE DOOR (OPTION ITEM #1): Provide new drip edge 7 Amendment A0003, 11/23/16

8 at head of garage door opening on south elevation. Coordinate with installation of new siding and building paper. C. UNIT PRICE ITEM: Provide new drip edge at heads of window assemblies receiving Routine Maintenance, as specified in SECTION , as directed by Contracting Officer through a contract modification. SECTION WOOD WINDOW REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT in its entirety with attached Section SECTION Paragraph 2.02 A, add the following sentence to the end of paragraph: Recommended for use on Western Red Cedar. Paragraph 2.03, add subparagraph C as follows: C. Windows and Doors: Urethane Modified Waterborne Alkyd with gloss finish. Paragraphs 2.05 C. and 2.06 C., delete the word New. Paragraph 3.03 A., Revise subparagraph 5) as follows: 5) Complete all required repair and replacement work to substrates specified in other Sections of this specification prior to application of primer. Revise subparagraph 8), revise the first sentence of subparagraph to read: Scrub the remaining coating with a brush or sponge and water. Paragraph 3.03 B, Revise subparagraph 2) and add subparagraph 3) as follows: 8 Amendment A0003, 11/23/16

9 2) Lightly sand existing interior casings and awning window sashes with 220 grit sand paper prior to applying primer. Do not sand surfaces with lead based paint. 3) Lightly sand first top coat with 220 grit sandpaper Paragraph 3.05 G, Revise subparagraph 1) as follows: 1) At double hung window sash, do not paint edges that slide within jambs, bottom of lower sash, or top of upper sash. 9 Amendment A0003, 11/23/16
