The MPE trades continued their coordination effort in anticipation of 100% documents in February. The majority of the remaining trade packages were released to for bid, with bid due dates set to take place in February. A pre-bid meeting for all packages was held at the San Jose Convention Center. Meetings continued with Hunt, the Design Team, the City and Team San Jose to review specific components of the design, including carpet, rigging points, fire alarm, security, building automation system, AV systems, FF&E and finishes, among other topics. Substantial discussions were held pertaining to the renovation portion of the work, including creating groups of areas to be renovated in tandem as well as their associated durations. Construction access time frame opportunities were reviewed with Team San Jose. A meeting was also held pertaining to turnover of the spaces to the Owner and Team San Jose in order to start the coordination process for Owner training and move-in. On-site crushing operations continued and backfill of the site started and was underway at the close of the month. Elsewhere on-site, ACCO removed the found pipes and preparations started to accommodate the next site activities: shoring and pile driving. Weekly meetings with the City, Team San Jose and Hunt continue in order to discuss project progress, resolve issues and coordinate activities with the hotels and Convention Center events schedule.

2 EXPANSION & renovation DESIGN JANUARY HIGHLIGHTS Backfill operations began for expansion site 100% Architectural documents were completed During the month of January the Design/Build Team continued its development of the work under Task Order 3A for completion of Construction Documents and began the Construction Administration phase of the work. The following are some of the tasks performed by the Design/Build Team in January. Document review and quality control Response to Contractor/ Bidder Questions and Clarifications. Respond to Contractor cost savings suggestions Begin Construction process related tasks: RFIs, Submittals Lighting Estimate review Rigging Point Options, Structural impact Narrative regarding TSJ requested rigging points impact on current structural design LEED points review, Energy Model Updates Signage reviews and updates Food Service Kitchen Revisions Food Service Existing Kitchen Discussions and Preliminary Scheme review CUP Permit Set, respond to review comments TSJ Comments review and responses; Doors, Technology, Security Office, Found Space, Toilet rooms, Box Office Change Toilet Room Designations: A, B and C per Hunt Direction Acoustics report EIR compliance. Reconciling recommendations with budget Stair 3 change to split slab construction at direction of Hunt for alternate water proofing system above electrical substation Special inspections, assist Hunt in defining requirements and drafting form verbiage Begin Health department review process for food service, Initial meeting was held, comments and requirements were established. Final submittal information package, collecting additional information pre SCHD comments is in progress The following were presentations and meetings undertaken by the Design/Build Team in January. January 12 Michael and Sandy attended a meeting with Team San Jose and Hunt. Ballroom ceilings, lighting design and carpeting design were discussed. It was agreed that Ballroom B fixtures would be mocked-up for further review. January 17 Issued Architectural Construction Documents for building permit review. January 26 - Signage / Graphics Meeting was held with Amy and Laura with TSJ, Hunt January 27 - Interiors Finish Presentation was given by Amy and Michael to the City, TSJ and Hunt.

3 CENTRAL PLANT DESIGN For the Central Utility Plant (CUP), the Design team and City team exchanged a few more rounds of comments prior to issuing the final permit that is expected in early February. CUP long lead equipment was released at the close of the month and shop drawings for the CUP structure were submitted for review. A Task Order is in the process of being created to capture the remaining elements needed to start this work. FEBRUARY OUTLOOK Start of shoring work Start of pile drilling and driving indicator piles

5 SAFETY UPDATE Every individual who will access the site is required to attend a one-time Safety Orientation prior to arrival on-site and/or start of work. Upon completion of orientation, individuals will be badged and an orientation sticker will be placed on their hard hat. Visitors must check in, sign the project Hold Harmless Agreement and be escorted at all times by a designated person who has received Safety Orientation. Sound level checks are being conducted during noisy demolition. A sound level check was conducted at the cooling tower area by Sterling Associates to establish baseline measurements for EIR Compliance. First Alarm Security continues security coverage during off-hours. Hours of operation will be Monday-Thursday 7:00pm-7:00am. Friday coverage will start at 7:00pm until 7:00am Monday morning.
