3 ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation goes for the highest safety level on board FTP Code As of 1st July 2012 a new fire test procedure within the marine sector, FTP Code, came into force. The test procedures have been revised in order to maintain the highest practical level of safety as well as the harmonisation of certified test institutes to the same level. To fulfill the new requirements ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation has developed and tested a new range of PFP (Passive Fire Protection) constructions. The use of our new constructions ensures compliance with the latest standard in the market; FTP Code. As first step ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation introduce a range of new constructions which cover the main solutions for A-rated steel Passive Fire Protection constructions: A-30 Steel Bulkhead A-30 Steel Deck A-60 Steel Bulkhead A-60 Steel Bulkhead restricted A-60 Steel Deck This new and optimized SeaRox product range offers more efficient logistics with less items to stock and easier handling from design to installation. New SeaRox product range and optimized logistic As part of the introduction of new solutions ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation has at the same time used the opportunity to optimize the SeaRox product assortment and simplify the range of constructions. All 5 main constructions can be insulated with only one product in two dimensions: SeaRox SL 620, 30 mm and 50 mm. 4 Discover our newest PFP (Passive Fire Protection) constructions according to the latest FTP Code. New certificates The range of new fire rated constructions have been approved by our notified body, Det Norske Veritas, and new certificates have been issued. To clearly distinguish between constructions which have been tested in according with either the old or new FTP Code, all new construction are issued on separate certificates. As existing certificates, tested according to the old standard expire they will be phased out. To find our new MED-certificates and to be updated in the status of new certificates please visit our website: / Existing certificates will still be valid after the implementation of the new test methods. As a result of the new FTP Code, the existing solutions in the market will be phased out over the coming years. According to the FTP Code, existing certificates will still be valid; however the following limitations regarding obtaining new certificates or the renewing of existing certificates have been implemented: Type approval certificates will not be issued on the basis of test reports more than 5 years old. Type approvals will not be renewed without retesting if the test report is more than 15 years old. 4

ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation has developed a new easy-touse and handy search tool on the international SeaRox Marine & Offshore website, The SeaRox Document Finder enables you to find all the documents you need for your projects, quickly and conveniently. Type approvals, product datasheets, drawings simply add what you need to your basket and download as a zip file or forward by . You no longer need to go through the whole website to find your documents. 7 To show off all the advantages of the SeaRox Document Finder, you can run through the procedure for finding an international MED 96/98/EC type approval for the A-60 Steel Bulkhead: Example: Step 1: Select Type Approvals Step 2: Step 3: Select the Country, in this case: International Select the Classification Society, in this case: MED 96/98/EC Step 5: The type approvals for the following products will be displayed: SeaRox SL 620, 60/25mm SeaRox SL 640, 2 x 30/30mm SeaRox WM 620, 2 x 45/45mm SeaRox WM 640, 75/30mm Step 6: You can download the documents directly or add them to your basket and continue searching for other documents, such as product datasheets.
